Who else wants drag racing TRACKS in gt5?

i would also like for their to be some type of drag race mod for certain cars in the game
 
IF they would add drag cars with the tracks then yes. Would be pretty cool.
 
I would love a drag strip with 0-60, 1/4 mile and full mile times and head to head competition.
 
Add 1/4 and 0-60 and I would love it. Why is everyone disapproving it. It was kind of in Gt4 you know.
 
For the same reason I don't drag race in real life. Boooring
 
I just wish we had the test track from GT4 with 0-400, 0-1000 etc. Although it would be nice to be able to put cars head to head against one another
 
Give them the track, but they do not get any reward for winning. They do not deserve anything by the sheer fact of soiling tracks.
 
Drag racing would be great to have. Why would you not want something new to play with?
 
drag racing would save our cars alot of grief from unexperienced hack driving friends that not so much turn into that hairpin as cut the grass adjacent to it and keep on going into the wall behind that.. lol

GT is supposed to have representation from almost every kind of motorsport in it, From F1 to Rally to Nascar to DTM to Supercars to Family Car races to Drifting etc. etc. Really all that I can think of that they left out is Gymkhana and Drag. Just cause you guys don't like it doesn't mean others dont. You have all your circuit tracks, let them have 1 drag.

Just upscaling the LV strip and free dlcing wouldnt be bad. Only problem- the old "You give a mouse a cookie, he's going to want some milk" problem. If you give us a drag strip, then we'll want some funny cars. It'll take up alot of time.
 
I dont get why you woudlnt want it. Especially since its so simple to implement.

Even forza 3s implemenation is pretty good.

Exactly, it wouldn't be too hard for PD to do and it would give another dimension to the game. Plus, if you don't like it you don't have to use it. :dunce:
 
I'd like the testing oval back from GT4 with the 0-400m & 0-1000m back. It was a great thing to tune a car (eg skyline GTR) and see if you can crack some decent times. Was also great to compare standard cars.

I wouldnt be suprised if it was removed at the request of bugatti to prevent Veyron vs McLaren F1 testing........

I reckon alot of features in this game are missing at the request of manufacturers. Cant think of any other reason.

It's funny to me that every car magazine has at least 0-60 and 1/4 mile times to measure performance of a car, and to not want it in a racing game seems a little backwards. There would be no cheating in this online, no grass cutting, corner cutting, chicane cutting, just you and the other guy and the track. Besides it could be a good way how to teach you how to launch your ride and shift properly.

How bout stop hoping things will get fixed? They wont. DLC and game itself fixes is all were getting. But its not like PD's been lazy. People complained about terrible car body shadows-They fixed it(for the most part). People complained about A.I. PITting-PD fixed it. People complained about gringing- PD kind-of helped it(Seasonal events). People complained about the difficulty to find a Formula GT and others- Pd fixed that. And it sounds like the next updates adding loads more too.

(PROTIP: Have the mindset that nothings ever going to get fixed, and you will not be spiteful. Then when it does get fixed, you'll be happy!)
 
the test course was a needless casualty.. we DO need that track back.. not to mention its front stretch would accept miscellaneous drag racing wholeheartedly

Top Gear already did it a few series ago on a closed road in Dubai, the McLaren won if I remember right

And dont worry about the moaners they're the same people who when you'd beat them in a straight line down a 1/4 mile would complain it takes no skill despite them taking part thinking they knew everything ;)

You don't remember rightly. The F1 had the edge at the start, but the Veyron overtook in the end.

Because it's a simple metric for comparing cars. There's nothing exciting or remotely interesting in it to make it a racing discipline, except for people without the skills to use a steering wheel and a brake pedal.

Drag racing reminds me of my first driving lessons where you don't get to drive for real but just get to grips with the clutch and shifting gears. It's an incomplete experience.

I for one don't miss it in GT5. 👎
