Who else wishes GT5 had NOS?

It would be cool if they brought it in but only have certain races allow it, also if you could turn up the boost on cars with forced induction during a race for that extra bit of speed. One day maybe...

was thinking about this the other day. surprised it wasn't inluded.

Sad thing is, you can do that on Tokyo Extreme Racer Zero (and the latest iteration of it, Import Tuner Challenge), you could even do it in GT1. You could adjust the boost and power up and down on turbo cars. They got rid of it.
They should be adding features, not removing them, so I support bringing back nitrous.
They should also bring back being able to race mod just about every car,
change wheels on every car, etc.
You can do far more in Forza for modifications than in any of the GT series...So why not?

I'm against nitrous, But more power would be nice. Most cars in GT have a fairly mild tune compared to what is really possible for them and all cars should be able to go N/A or turbo. Wouldn't a boost controller in the tuning menu be more appropriate for GT then nitrous? Permanent boost rather then temporary. Engine wear is already in place so accelerating that and adding additional lag if boost is set higher. Reverse for lower.
Srsly the million skylines should be able to handle 900-1000hp because they really do.

It would be great. And everyone who says that it is not legal in anything else then drag racing don't really get the concept of a game. A game is meant to give you freedom that real life don't. Not that it needs to be unrealistic and arcade like, but if you think it is too face then just don't use it.
You can also get TC on a F40, which you can't in real life. You can run a street car at indy 500, or use a Zonda R in Le Mans. You can take cars to the track that haven't even been build. It is not very realistic that you can't turbocharge a Lamborghini or supercharge a BMW in the game. It is realistic to use NOS, because you can actually put it on a car. As long as they don't give us 2 meter long blue flames out the exhaust when you use it, i think it could be a lot of fun.

I'm a fan of the boost controller idea. If they implement it, they should also add the possibility/risk of blowing your engine with extreme boost settings. This would add a CR risk for those wanting to take the risk. Force an engine rebuild to use the car again if the engine blows.

I would love to have it. It's another feature from GT4 that unfortunately didn't make it to GT5.

I don't really understand why anyone wouldn't want another turning option.

I tried it once before and endurance race. I still got tired.

omg.. you are epic

If NOS is ever put into gt5 (probably not) it should be a fixed amount, then when the bottle runs out go pit and get a new one. On the other hand, with something like KERS every time you brake little by little it would replenish. If it's included at least make it realistic.

No. Tuning isn't just sticking a tank of N2O into the car and blasting. I'm sure max tuning is enough, so what difference is it going to make for the ricers?

Yeah, and they also have to redesign the exteriors, interiors, and car physics for 1000+ race modification cars. Wouldn't you love it if GT5 released in 2015? /sarcasm

God I hate "that" movie... it's not "NOS", "NAWS" or "NAWZZ"....

It's NITROUS OXIDE!! For the love of God I'm tired of hearing it referred to as the afore mentioned.

End of rant, and since there is not a drag strip in GT5, there is no need for it either.

Using NOS is worse than driving with aids and racing softs, as it removes any need for having driving skills to win a race. It's as bad as cheating.

Cadillac CIEN Concept with Nitrous Oxide on D'Amalfi.. WOW lol

Just so you know.. NOS is A company that distributes Nitrous Oxide Just as Nitrous Express :)

I bet about 90% in this thread think that "NOS" is a magic button that gives you tunnelvision.

Nitrous injection is a pretty safe and cheap alternative for a turbo or supercharger. For example, the NX Express FJO controller controls when you spray based on two things; your RPM (window switch), and whether or not you're at full throttle (WOT switch). You can also adjust how much to spray within an RPM range. All of this is set via USB on a laptop. This way, you don't have to hit a button to spray like the movies, you don't spray at redline (which is no good). But in general, you want a window switch and WOT switch.

But, since turbo's are dirt cheap in this game, a nitrous setup is kind of obsolete. Should be fun though, if we could add one to the cars that can't be F/I'ed in game.

Good description of this :)

I'm a Mechanic for a company that deals with custom built cars etc and the first time I seen this system I scratched my head and walked away lol. It is exactly like you explain, just confirming for those that say "NO YOU'RE WRONG FAST & FURIOUS IS RIGHT" LMAO.

For the more mechanically minded you have 5 systems. Dry, Wet Single Port, Wet Direct Port, Plenum or Propane & CNG

Wet Single Port Nitrous kit uses a system that sprays the Nitrous Oxide between the throttle body and the intake manifold where it Soakes Manifold with both fuel & Nitrous and the air flowing through the intake manifold and when it meets with the fuel creates a Higher power gain than a Dry system but does not come easy to fit if used professionaly. You can get kits for you're every day which is pretty easy to install

Wet Direct Port Nitrous Kit uses a system that pretty much does as it says. It sprays the Nitrous into each intake port of the engine. This means the intake stays dry & also the amount of Nitrous being delivered to each port can be change and not just have a constant flow like the single port system!. This system provides the highest power band of them all and also the most complex to install! Oh and lets not forget the price :)

Dry Nitrous systems rely on Nitrous gas being pushed through the Mass Air Flow Sensor which then tells the ECU (Electronic Control Unit) that there is a denser colder air flowing and that the Injectors MUST feed more fuel through the engine creating more power :). The length of time and and quantity of Nitrous gas obvious determines you're amount of power gain :)

Plenum bar Nitrous Systems are pretty much just an upgrade that you can add to the Wet Direct port System! This increases it to Stage 2/3/4 and so on but tends to lose power!

Propane or CNG System is basically just changing you're normal fuel and swapping it with a gas such as Propane which will rapidly increase power as you have a more stable Air/Fuel Mixture :)

Just a quick off topic question, what sort of fuel would create more power then, a CNG/Propane system or the ethanol fuels the Indycar (or CART can't remember which) used to run?

I'd have liked to see it in the game.

And release a special controller with the game which had a big red button which when pressed will activate the Nitrous, but the button is covered like in a fighter jet.

Couldnt you have nos and a turbo?
And if they were to put nos in the game it would be a good to have refills for about 750cr.

I find it hard to believe that people who played GT4 didn't enjoy this feature. And I am absolutely stunned at the manner in which some members are aproaching this topic. I wouldn't be able to tell if some of you were talking about nitrous in GT5 or who shot your sister in her leg, there is no reason to get so furious at the shear idea of nitrous.

When they implement a real 1/4 mile drag strip and drag slicks then nitrous would make sense. On a road course? Nuh-uh.
