No, I'm saying making it able to set it how you want it. Disable speedometer, and just have the gear number on the bottom right corner with your speed number. And have your place and lap number pop up whenever you pass a lap. Make the screen as clear as possible without completely eliminating your vital instruments.

Okay, I understand. I agree with you too on this.

Always use manual and always have in all car games. I also use the clutch when driving a "manual" model car.

sdf
manual from GT2,
faster, better control of the car, no need for aids at all.
DS3 user.

Definitely agree, cars launch way way better with manual and no aids, people say cars on the game don't act like the real ones, well NEWS FLASH not all these real cars have ASM and TCS etc. :)

In a previous thread that argued which was best, around 90% of people voted in favour of manual, which shows roughly how many people play with manual. Though this is a GT5 website so the average player is a little more towards the enthusiast/hardcore side than your average gamer joe.

I've always dabbled with manual but first made the permanent switch in GT4.

I used to use automatic then I got my dfgt and now on manual for everything apart from the x2010 as my reactions cant keep up with the gear shifts. Made me a lot faster.

I use both. MT for long/ endurance races to keep it interesting. AT for short races when I can't be bothered to shift.

Manual always, from day one since GT1. I always drive manual in real life so why would I use Auto in GT. Anyways driving with manual gives you much more control over the car.

I used Auto For a while until i got used to the controls of GT5, now i hate using Auto in any game really. I often hit X to downshift when i'm playing Burnout Paradise I'm so used to the controls now.

Manual for me always. I tend to brake early and get back on the gas early when cornering, and the auto trans never seems to kick down enough gears for me, always leaves me one gear too high and kills my corner exit speed.

Two things that I waited way too long to do:

• Switch to MT
• Turn off the driving line

I'm so happy I did both.

I switched to manual recently. You have so much more control over what gear you are in during a corner. Also, prevents the car from shifting during a turn. The only car I don't drive manual is the Lexus is f. It has 8 gears.

I use manual. Makes driving with a wheel as well as GT5 more enjoyable.

I actually use both, but I'm actually faster with Auto by a tenth or two per lap. What I find is that I hit my braking points a lot more consistently with Auto. Less to think about I guess. So I use manual when racing and auto with time trialing. My car IRL is manual so I don't know why I'm slower with it in the game.

Manual, started very recently because of TDU2: In that game if you ate in Auto you get a 1.5sec delay starting races, whereas in Auto you just shift my during the countdown, floor it and away you go! Naturally, this transferred to GT5.

I drive manual in real life and in the game. No clutch in the game though - too many missed shift with my G27 otherwise

i use manual with my DFGT, i hate driving auto, b/c with manual it seems that you have more control over your car compared to auto when it comes to the power delivery
