I just finished installing it. HMV had it for $34.99. If you want to play some MP later on the original maps leave your gamertags here!

Damn, did it come out? I didn't think it was until the end of the month. How is it?

It's very good! Hitting the back button takes a second to switch engines, but it's sure cool to see how it was back then and then ..... how it is now ;)

I've only played a bit of the single player campaign on Legendary and it feels very faithful. I still have the original Halo here as well. You can also play multiplayer on the anniversary maps without owning Reach for those wondering.

It comes with a code to download the Anniversary maps into your Reach files as well.

So is it possible to play the controls as in Halo 3 as opposed to Reach? I haven't played the first Halo since high school.

Haven't looked at all the control settings, but Halo3 was dual wielding and Halo and Halo Reach are single wielding. I use X to re-load and I used RB/LB to reload in Halo 3. There are different control settings though, yes.

Yes you can pick "Hero" or something like that in the control options and its the exact same button configuration as Halo 3. B button to melee, RB to reload. All that good stuff. I did the same thing with Halo Reach, converted the controls to Halo 3 controls.

Bleh. I'm normally a fan of anything Halo but this just doesn't seem worth it since I still regularly play the PC original. Just completed the campaign on it again and made some mods.

Yeah if you already have it on PC then I would say pass for sure. I bought it because I never got into Halo until Halo 2. Plus for $39.99 I figured I would go for it. So I played through with a friend and we had a pretty good time. We got lost really bad in the level where you fly the Banshees. I think it took us 2 hours to get through that level. It was kinda misleading to what the objective was. So we flew the Banshees up top. Then went all the way to the bottom of that building and nothing was there. Then just got so lost. Other than that it was a fun experience. I do love how you hit the back button to see the before and after of the graphics. Quite an amazing difference. If you give it a month or so I am sure you can get this game for $15-$20.

Don't think it will go below the cost of the 1700 MS point Anniversary Map Pack for Reach which is included in CE Anniversary.

I was wondering how that worked for people that have Reach. So if people have Reach and not Halo CE they need to play 1700ms points for the map playlist? I thought it was free but I guess not. Thats a bit steep.

Yup, that's why I bought it for $35. There's a DLC code inside the case for the Anniversary map pack for Reach. It wouldn't be in MS best interest to make the map pack the typical 800 points.

Yes 800ms would have been smarter especially since from what I can tell its only what 6 or 7maps?

800 points for the map pack would hurt Anniversary sales would be their line of thought. Good for gamers in general, but bad for MS. I think it's a good deal anyways the game looks and plays great and remember that slide show that was The Maw in the original?

I mainly want it for the legendary achievement, truth be told...One of the hardest FPS' ever made on Legendary difficulty, but not cheap like CoD veteran.

I cant even comprehend doing this game on Legendary. I played through with a friend and we were on normal and must have died at least 50 times. Easily. I dont see myself beating H1 on Legendary not even as co-op. The level where we flew the Banshees for the first time took us 2 hours to get through. We got so lost in that level. The game is fun but its easy to get lost for sure.

I`ve beat ODST and Reach on legendary and am a few chapters into Halo3 on legendary. Beating Halo CE on legendary is the pînnacle, IMO.

I beat all of those on Legendary but as a co-op. I would never play through a Halo game solo especially not on legendary. If a game has co-op, I play through it as a co-op.

Halo: CE A is the first time I'll have gone through the Halo 1 campaign fully. Should be nice, given the shiny coat of paint that is the HD graphics. Can't wait to start as soon as I'm done with Forza 3.
