Hey guys,

I'm a french Canadian from the Quebec, I was wondering who speaks french... I see European people, I see Quebec people, but I dont know they are speaking french...

I DO !!

Lets know who speaks french... Do you ??

ferme la bouche.

Thats about all I can say in French. No seriously thats pretty much it, oh and ferme la peur.

Yeah I know, I never did french in school, I did Spanish. My dad speacks French well, I have a friend who's French called Letisha, but I don't see her very often, anything I pick up gets lost and confused and mixed in with the Spanish I know .

I do, I'm from Quebec city, currently living in Montreal.

Punkrock and Div is back are from Quebec too, and there's a few members from France and Belgium: Coyote, VV (they're more active on Coyote's French GT forum, GTWEB though), Buggy boy, and a few others that are more or less active.

@Live4speed:

We either say "Ferme la" (order) or "Ferme ta gueule" (impolite order), the way you say it is used to tell a kid to keep is mouth closed while he's chewing. :p

Gueule (an animal's mouth), is pronounced more or less like "Guil" (
"eu" doesn't have an english equivalent).

Now go practice! :D

I'm basically French coming from a Monte Carlo family.

I took Italian though in High School, but I've picked up some French while I'm over there.

When it comes to spelling though, I can't do it. Usually have to have a translator, though I can understand what you're saying if I pronunce it.

I had 5 years of French in 7th through 11th grade. I've forgotten nearly all of it. I never could get past Baudelaire, Rimbaud, and de Maupaissant.

I've done 3 years of it, and have just started my 4th, but i really can't say much. I'm really useless with the masculine/feminine stuff, like putting an e on the end for some reason.

I did it for 2 years when I was at school. I enjoyed it and I didn't. I didn't really like speaking it aloud, but I was quite good with writing it down. I can't really remember much of it now, but I remember:

Un
Deux
Trois
Quatre (sp?)
Cinq
Six
Sept
Huit
Nerf
Dix (sp?)

I know most of the next set of "teen" numbers but I've forgotten the spelling. :(

I remember this too:

Tu t'appelles comment?

French is the second national language over here but I never speak French, I don' t have to use it (I did once, in school from the age of 7). I don't even watch our french tv channels.

The french GCSE tests are ment to be real easy with loads of people in my school getting C's and B's even though in all the other subjects they got D's and E's. I didnt take the french test cause I was excluded for a month and didnt do coursework so they said I might aswell not take it. Wish I did take i now cause it was easy. Still cant speak french doe.
