-You can't sell the concept cars?!?! that is bull. I don't want some Mazda6 POS, I want the money from it! I'll never drive it! either keep it or get rid of it for nothing. complete bull.
WTH?!? You can't sell the concept cars? That SUCKS! Who wants those cars clogging up their garage. That is a major mistake. Autosave sucks also, although I've heard you can turn it off with "restricted".
About the C6... I'm not a chevrolet fan, but damn there is no excuse for not being able to include that car. If you ask me its just pure laziness not to include one of the most popular american cars latest generation. Jesus, take away a few of the trucks and give us the C6. They should have had the entire truck team working on the C6 instead. WTH! moving on...
GT4 Pros
-Nice graphics
-Good playability
GT4 Cons
-Glitchy graphics
-No vid rewind (add frame by frame button, games have had this FOREVER)
-Can't play with your garage in LAN
-Lots of trucks while no C6
-AI still needs improvement
-Online play requires jumping through hoops thanks to PD
-Missed deadlines and excluded features have a lot of fans looking to other series, which is SAD!
I know that the cons are small issues that people will say "be thankful you got the game". In truth, online play a much hyped feature that is seems the team either wasn't good enough or dedicated enough to include.
Being a multiple project manager in real life, I think it comes down to mismanagement in the GT team. I know that my employers simply would not have accepted missed deadlines and things not getting done. I am not a programmer, and I know that this will piss a lot of people off. Simple rule of business is you either finish the project or make the damn deadline as it is. So if they absolutely HAD to delay the game significantly, then online shouldn't have been scrapped so late in the game, and basic issues like, garage, autosave, flicker, etc, should have been handled. A small delay and scrapping online play would have been acceptable, but I'm sure I wasn't the only one that thought PD would surprise us by including online play with the last delay. What could they possibly have done for the last 3 months? Include more trucks? Localization? WHAT? I KNOW it wasn't playtesting, because the testers that spent all the time building their cars only to race generic arcade models in LAN mode would have pointed this out, or maybe they did and PD just didn't want to deal with it.
They set themselves up to be heavily scrutinized when they delayed this game way beyond the norm. I don't give a damn that they flew 70 people around the world looking at cars and tracks... Less globetrotters and more people in their cubes
working, I say.
EDIT: Btw, I like the game a lot, but I really don't feel that the end product was worth the delays.
