Who thinks GT4 sucks?

From what i've read on the Net GT5 won't be out untill 2007 mainly because there not releasing a brand new GT game on PS2 so GT5 will be on PS3. However PD havn't ruled out future add-ons for GT4 similar to the GT Cobcept 2002 game.
 
The only thing about GT4 that "sucks" is the disc... it's not nearly as cool as the Japan version and it looks thrown together.

Anyways, I'm amazed.


I got the game at eight (PM) yesterday, got a crap bronze B licence, transferred cash (good feature 👍 ), and bought a Fireblade...


Boy was I annoyed that I couldn't get my cr60,000 back!

I am disapointed by the loss of the ability to "test-tune" cars, but there are so many advantages, it makes the previous versions seem pale by comparison...

Oh yeah, one word, "Nurburgring." :)
 
I cant believe this thread was ever started. GT4 is the best game ive ever played! also the most real. i drive a '91 plymouth voyager i know all about weight transfer and this game captures it great! the auto save is great. for 1 like many have said it more real, also i dont lose progress that ive made by forgeting to save. i would of liked to c a T/A and more mustangs but damn it aint that big of a let down. lovin all the new courses. 1 thing that should have been done is meeting certain specs for races. i dont like entering a race and geting my ass kicked because i didnt know what i was in for and the cars have 200 more horses than me and i dont like getting in a race and having absolutly no compition because i picked a viper to go against sunfire. lovin the spoilers downforce ROCKS! :D I think its better than 1,2, and 3 put together.
 
:guilty: Instead of all the crying, Go play a nicer racing game instead, I'm cool with it or maybe one of you can do better, Besides! It's just a game!!!

OK, my first impression of this game isn't so great. The AI is even more lame, IMO. The cars are hard to control with the DS2, the car movement while racing is very "twitchy" and the cars understeer a little too much for my tastes. I understand I need to get use to this game, but man, this game can be painful at times.

I also don't like the inconsistencies in the game like the Licenses Tests. Some are so easy, a small child could even do it, but then a humdinger just wakes up on you and it's GT3 license test B8 all over again. Same with regular races. Even certain races in GT Mode were oddlly inconsistent. One race giving me 116 points and being very difficult, but another race offering me 148 points in the same car, and it ends up bieng the easiest race to win ever. Well here's to hoping I get used to it.

There is always gonna be some dicknose that is never happy. I remember when GT3 came out, people saying that the graphics blew. Funny how all the gaming experts will tell you that GT3 was the best llooking racing game anywhere up until GT4, console wise.

If you are gonna ***** about it, go do it somewhere that people wanna hear it.
 
I don't care how you phrase it, saying GT4 sucks is still blasphemy.

Thats the great thing about this place,you can allways voice your veiws.I feel that this game rocks.It was weird at first with the car reaction being alot different but after a little while,I got use to it.One word of advice,DO NOT use GT3 as a way to get ready for this game. It is totaly different. :)
 
Who is saying it sucks?! It's just such a dissapointment considering they have changed SO little since ****ing GT1.
 
I have been reading some of these posts with negative comments about GT4 in them and scratching my head. It makes me wonder if they are even playing the same game. This game may not be perfect, but then again what game is? The controls are spot on. The graphics are incredible. All this with new features to boot. GT3 pushed the PS2 harder then most games before it, GT4 raises the bar even higher. We are lucky that we even got another GT before the introduction of the PS3. GT4 is the best, most realistic racing game that I have played, Hands down, no contest. Sorry to rant, just my two cents.

like it but not too great.Graphics were better in toca racer 2 I think.But still good,hopefully we`ll be able to use online some day.

Fine, if you were happy and thought GT1-3 were the perfect driving games with no flaws, then good luck to you. It's just I realise how much needed improving, and how I payed for GT3 with more cars and a better physics model.

Games should EVOLVE, just look at the MGS series, or the upcoming Splinter Cell, you don't see all the problems that plagued the early games! They actually LISTENED and changed their games for the better.

All this with new features to boot.

Tell me what this has over GT2?

GT2 has more cars, more tracks and better physics than GT1 (debatable). This is JUST the same, but this time it's following GT3.

GT3 pushed the PS2 harder then most games before it, GT4 raises the bar even higher. We are lucky that we even got another GT before the introduction of the PS3. GT4 is the best, most realistic racing game that I have played, Hands down, no contest

Raises the bar in terms of.....? And you honestly believe that GT4 is the most realistic racing game - with a VW Kharhman Ghia with ABS and TCS and AI that seems to be even more stupid - ever?

:indiff: I have been playing TOCA race driver 2 latley. the carreer mode is crappy and the tuning options are a joke and only 35 cars, but this game has the most awesome online racing. complete with damage and collision physics. The first turn is always an eight car pile up. After trading paint with people from around the world gt4 leaves me kind of dissapointed. Damn you Sony for screwing us out of online play I didnt think that was going to be the seller for me, but with all the delays, like 8 months they could have just ripped off some kid of online play. well I'm going to play some more maybe I'll like it more after a while.
 
I don't care what anyone thinks. This game is better than GT3. GT5 (if there is one) will be WAY better than GT4 and GT3. Why because it'll be on the new PS3. GT1, GT2 (great games at the time)= PSOne . GT3 (best GT series game ever) QUESTION!!!! was anyone expecting GT3 as much as they were GT4, and was anyone (try to remember back) expecting GT2 as much as they were GT1., GT4, better than GT3. Yes there are Alot of Japanese cars. Big whoop. GT4 is better than any X-box racing game. X-box= made in america also = more american cars. Playstation= made in Japan, GT4 was also made in Japan = more japanese cars. Deal with it. Unless you can creat a raceing game better than GT4 and put it on your own system, don't knock what you can not be out done!!!!!
 
You know what I hate? That my fellow americans do nothing but *****, piss and moan about everything and not willing to change it. I think that a lot of people's heart is in this game, if you have not noticed yet. The scenery is actually real and the crowd is too, sort of. What I see coming is GT5, this is the beta if you will. I used to dream as kid how cool it would be to have something like this! That was before 16, I would like to thank (Senior moment, forgot name) Mr. GT for making a dream reality. 1,2,3 were fantastic, but seriously can you really say 4 is bad? Spoiled is what I think, couple people mentioned the physics are more realistic. Correct, if you have actual seat time in a real car, then you would agree. I don't mean SUV's or Front Wheel drive either, I have a 71 Boss 351 and a 72 Datsun 510 which is registered with SCCA. My point is, write Mr. GT and give your concern, he is a racing fan for the fans. 1 out 4 aint bad, Bill Gates has not made nothing right yet! I hate Bill Gates, but that's justified! There is no way in hell I want to learn programming in order to make my own, just quit whining, it does not do a damn thing but waste time. IT's A GAME! I will bring my 510 to Leguna Seca if someone would like to do battle, whatcha got? Thank you for the rant, GT4 is waiting on me, later. FYI, tell MR. GT to work on G Loading for GT5, only thing missing.
 
Well...I haven't received mine yet, but I would have liked to have seen Mosport (Ontario), Road Atlanta (Georgia), and Sebring (Florida). Those are all very fast tracks and extremely fun to drive.

Online was taken out because NOT everyone has the higest speed connection.


Would anyone like to be in first place on the last lap of a 10 lap race, and have the person that created the race "Drop"/"Quit" the race because he/she is not in first. And have the game end, because of it. Whould anyone like that.

I sure don't. Duh :dunce:

NFSU2 and NFSU both have on-line races. And people "do" drop/quit if they are not going to win.


Now this is not the actual reason why on-line was not put into GT4, but this is a good reason why we should not be knocking GT4 or Polygraph Digital.

No matter what,there will always be a glitch.But to me it is well worth the $60 CDN. :)
 
When people pay hard earned $ for something they expect it to be right, and YES that gives them the right to B**** when its NOT :banghead: (GET IT?) or get over it!!
 
I waited until the PS2 was $149 before I bought it, specifically for GT. The only game I play. While I was waiting for the price drop, I got GT3 for $7.00 Bucks! But some things I will pay full price on, but Corperate Americas greed is out of hand! So my LCD Screen is a coulple years out, that's how I fight crime. So If your gonna whine, take it back and wait! Also I would like to say that complaining about something you can control is well........ I dont vote, so when you guys going to fix my problem? The one I get for nothing, huh? I might not get Social Security, $50 for a little escape from reality is fair!

95% of the complaints i see are just bull****!!! I mean,where's the point in reading a review on driving physics written by a 15 year old kid,that has his whole "experience" from need for speed underground...?

Anyone who seems to really know what he's talking about likes the physics and is able to EXPLAIN EXACTLY WHY (thanks for that)

Sure,it has some flaws like AI or the missing damage model,but we already knew that that's not gonna be the strong side of GT...it focuses on something else...("The real DRIVING SIMULATOR" does that mean something???hmm,i don't know :dunce:...735 cars and not only{but surely enough of} such above 500hp???yeah,it really sucks to be able to drive just about EVERY car {maybe yours but with the turbo that you never could afford,but always dreamt of} :dunce: if you don't like to drive them you can still inform yourself about them)

Calling a game with over 700 cars and a well captured nuerburgring (not mentioning other tracks or improvements) an upgrade is just a dumb joke,and by the way i would pay 50 euro for a game that accurately simulates 10 nice different cars on the ring,and still be very happy that i won't have to pay for gas and tires... 👍

Jesus H christ, yes I agree you do have every right, Keep it to yourself! But when you post it on the web it is an invasion of my space and your anger gets me angry. Now I bet your gonna say something wonderful like why am I letting it, becuase that's what is intended. So I would like to help saying that complaining is pointless, infectious and just rude! But that is all I can do, tell you that was once just like you. What goes around comes around, good luck to ya!
