If GT6 is released on the PS3 I'll still most likely buy it the day it comes out, if it's a PS4 title (or for the next installment) however, I'll seriously reconsider whether I'll automatically go for a Playstation again this time.
. . .

+1 I will think long and hard about whether to buy a new PC for the new sims coming out or a ps4 for GT6.

Because car modeling is... everything?

Probably the number one thing I hear people complaining about or asking for more of is premium cars. So modeling may not be everything, but it is an important factor for many.

It's called "loyalty". GT6 won't be some completely different game made by a different developer with the GT5 engine as its foundation...

No it's called blind Fan. A True fan will wait and Look at the advantage and disadvantage of GT6 and will critic PD games, because she/he wants the GT Franchise to be better and Push and motivate the Developer to get better and better. They should set New targets and Push the franchise.

A blind Fan would buy Every Game and it wouldn't matter if its the Same or worse than GT5.

That's a skeptic and or a casual racing genre fan

Don't treat GT as if it's Madden, it's FAR from.

What would you call someone who enjoys GY so much that they go far out of their way to collect damn near every single thing (games, merch, promotional materials, etc) that PD has produced?

No. Look at the Sound of GT1-5. That's what a blind Fan is doing. Not complaining and buying the Same Game again.

Lets imagine that Every Fan is a blind Fan. All the Franchise including GT wouldn't improve because the Company cares about money.

A True Fan and true racing fans will look at the Game and decide if she/he buy's it.

A blind Fan and Causal Fan will buy GT, because it has the GT Logo on the packshot.

I will buy GT6. GT5 is fine, nowhere near as bad as the worst racing games I have bought on the playstation consoles.

The GT series was way ahead of all other console racers for GT1, GT2, GT3, GT4. It might still be ahead of the pack with GT5. There's no reason I can think of for not buying GT6.

Er actually, if sony is broke/bankrupt and doesn't release a new console, then maybe that will effect GT6 and then maybe I will get more into PC gaming or buy another brand of console.

A blind fan would pick up a game off the shelf having never played a game in a series. A skeptic waits and waits weeks or months for reviews, videos, and uses Metacritic ratings to make their decisions. A casual gamer or genre fan rents rather than buys. Or perhaps buys after renting.

This. Whether or not I buy GT6 will depend on the console it is released on and the competitors at that moment.
I bought the PS3 for GT5 and while I have had my money's worth I don't know if I will do that again with the next console. Maybe I'll go with a more expensive, yet upgradeable gaming PC this time.

That is a HUGE point. If its on PS4 and a launch title at that, I'll have to sit and wait for financial reasons.

Absolutely will NOT buy. GT5 was the most sterile game I've played this generation. I'd rather buy every COD or FIFA out there than buy another Gran Turismo.

Yup 👍. I'll get it as soon as possible for the PS3.

I will buy GT6, don't know why though. Despite whatever reviews it gets I'll still be buying it.
It'll still be Gran Turismo, that's why. :)

I'm not saying I'm buying it for the name. I'm saying I'll buy it, because I know what kind of game I'm getting.

I want to say lol,
but really this is quite sad.
I have my criticisms and my doubts,
but really it's not that bad.

I wonder if that old car vs driving wives tale is analogous here - it aint what you play, but how you play it.

PD lost me after GT2. Not a single thing they have done afterwards has inspired me to go back. Didn't buy GT3 (still, played it borrowed), but while it looked nice, and had some nifty features, didn't move me like GT1 and 2. GT4, I committed the mistake of buying a slim ps2 just for it ... the " It's GT so it most be good " syndrome. It was kinda nice,HATED the "flicker" the game had when it struggled to mantain 60, but it has a plethora of events so it kept me "satisfied"... Until another franchise came along that sparked my interest in the direction that ironically, GT2 had led me.

GT5 come along and thanks to my Playstation toting neighbor I saved 350 dollars. I was genuinely interested... before I saw what Kaz permited SONY to do to his game. So, unless they do something worthwhile, I'm doing a lot of F wording

I will buy GT6.

I recently bought a license for R-Factor 2 and played the beta for a couple of weeks and came to the conclusion that the basic driving physics are pretty much the same in GT5 and RF2. GT5 doesn't need to fear any competitor when it comes to the core driving gameplay. Other sims like iRacing are no option for me since they are way too expensive when you play them over a longer period of time.

In my eyes GT5 is the best Racer. It has some kind of "spirit" that other games like R-Factor lack. GT5 is a carporn, a pure celebration of racing. Other games may consider a ton of technical aspects but no other piece of software is able to convey the emotions that belong to racing.

As long as GT6 will have proper next-gen visuals, Porsche, only premium and no standard cars, more cars with racing modifiractions and a better online browser, I'm happy.

Yes. GT tastes like beef and competition on xbox like a hamburger. Both are good but in different ways :) I find myself more a beef guy though.

You don't like any gt after 2?

You do realise this is gt planet? A place to discuss playing it?

Played them all, tried to love them... but it's like one of the posters said... GT is stuck in 98.... or not even that, cuz I used to love it back then. When you love a franchise that started your interest in cars, it's really sad to see it turn into the exagerated not so quite debacle that GT5 turned out to be. Im not saying GT5 was so OMG terribad, but " could have been" is not an expression that goes along the GT franchise. So I'm still waiting till the fine day PD wins me back. Don't be mad, it's just one sale, PD will always have Pavlovian fanatics that buy it and find out about the feature set when they press start, then rage in the forums

I was more thinking if you don't like gt5 or most of them why have a account here? Just curious.

The problem is that I will probably either stop playing the genre all together, buy a gaming PC or buy GT6 at some point in time.
I have yet to find a good alternative to the GT series on PS.

The only thing that came close to being a good alternative was Shift 2. And that was only because that game does everything right that GT5 does wrong... However, it manages to do everything wrong that GT5 does right. As the latter includes Physics and FFB, I was forced eventually to go back to GT5 just for the pleasure of 'feeling'' a car on the tarmac.

pCARS on ps3,360, Wii U or PC.

so 160 plus of you aren't very smart, GT5 was a huge let down. Forza 4 is leaps and bounds ahead of it to anyone who has a wheel to play both. GT6 needs to be a massive improvement over 5. They need to stop aiming for 1080p because its obviously not possible looking at GT5 and they need to include a better car roster. There is a whole world of cars outside of Japan Polyphony Digital. To me GT3 was the pinical, I have so many fond memories of that game. I played the hell out of it, there was nothing like it. It was so far ahead of the competition. GT4 was just GT3 with more cars and tracks and GT5 is 4 with less. I love the gran turismo franchise, its where I learned about my love for cars but honestly PD need to have a huge rethink and take GT back to its roots.

*snip*

That, or people just like the game and would really like the next version. Not everyone has the same standards (and amount of consoles) as you have. That doesn't make people 'not very smart'.

He's gone country,...back to his roots...

No, seriously though. I think the poll should change from who will NOT buy to who will buy GT6 but as compared to other games on the market[in due time of course]. As has already been said several times, its impossible to know what a game will be like before it's even released, let alone announced officially in newswires with trailers and the whole "SHABANG". You said yourself, "I played the hell out of it. There was nothing like it" about GT3. Well, whether you accept it or not, there are those of us who feel that way about GT5. It doesn't make you wrong and us right. It makes our tastes different. In the interest of credibility, I own both Forza 4 and GT5 and I enjoy both for different reasons I'm not about to discuss off topic in this thread.

Wow, pCARS looks amazing. Will not look like the screenshots on a PS3 ofc. I think I'll join them to play the latest build though.

Sorry off topic...

On topic: If pCARS is as good as it seems I'm not buying GT6 :D
