No i'm not , but i'll let you win the debate on the premise that i'm a fair sport .

Don't forget the PSN add , I wanna see what an ABS 0 pro can do ... please be gentle with me ;)

@berettagt88

Well done and happy motoring 👍

Its not a debate, as there is only 1 person here actually debating, you are just ranting about things you misinterpret. I use ABS-1, just to clarify another one of your assumptions.

And i will add you as soon as i get a chance. Bring some friends.

EDIT-

once again sorry for the off topic thing, what kind of car/track/tires?

👍 Same . GT500 ( Full tuned , race hard / med or soft good for you ? ( No Nomad ) . I don't race low PP road cars either . Too slow for me . . .

I actually tried SRF for the recent FGT seasonal we had , out of curiosity . It just felt so alien to me the way the car sat during cornering .

I then ran a normal lap with it disengaged and I was several seconds quicker . So i'm now questioning what advantage , if any , can be gained through an aid that makes me slower ?

It doesn't allow for the 10 - 15 % slip ratio on exit so it's of no consequence to my driving technique , hence laptime .

You have to change your driving style to suit skid recovery force, if you just turn it on and do the same thing you were doing, it will mess with you.

Skid recovery force allows you to go faster, that is undebatable.

I don't have a single gt500 car. It would be better to go with some style we both have covered already.

Also send me a PM about our race since its not on topic with this thread, unless you plan on making this a public challenge (I am completely ok with that) make a new thread somewhere appropriate though.

Indeed 👍

Xpower180 I feel it is my comment that brought your response of not allowing any aids in a room

I am not an elitist snob.:grumpy: Frankly I do take offense to that comment.👎 I was just attempting to tell the op that to my mind SRF is the only aid that can not be reproduced in any real car. It is an artificial aid that to me in MY room is simply not acceptable.

If this is not agreeable to anyone they are more than capable of starting their own room or finding one that allows artificial help.

No claims to be anything better than anyone else I just want the game to be as realistic as possible.

I feel ya he called me an elitist and i gave him a 5 paragraph response about my feelings of the comment he made, And my beliefs on "AIDS" and his interpretation of a comment I said about NOOBS which he completely misunderstood. He must be an elitist. And this is a BIG 🤬 to whoever deleted my post that took an hour to type.

Like I said b4, SRF is an unrealistic AID that gives you a unrealistic feel of the car. I never dogged TRAC and ABS and I admit I do use them (ABS & TRAC.) The reason that people host rooms w/no SRF is because they want to race other drivers that drive the same style. And another reason that has been proven 100 times over, is SRF can improve your times 3-5 seconds. Who wants to race ppl that are driving 5 seconds a lap faster every lap.

Now on another note there are plenty of rooms that allow SRF.

And a few closing notes 1st: I hope this post doesnt get deleted(i didnt cuss this time.) 2nd @ XPOWER180 why dont you give a useful responce about an OP B4 shooting down every single comment everyone makes. With your SNOBBISH, ELITIST 🤬

If your post was in fact deleted (I see no trace of it) then it was done so for a reason. Responding to it the way you did is the quickest way to get on the staff's bad side.

As for this thread itself keep the childish petty back and forths out of this thread, or it will quickly disappear.

Ok mybad for the way of resonding but my comments were true and i admit it had a few choice words PG13 maybe. but i dont think it deserved it. some people dont take minor 🤬 words to offence. And it took a while to type. and the deletion was in the news section a week or so ago.

I also like to give a BIG apology to the STAFF if I offended you. My words were not meant to be hurtful.

I will watch my language from now on.

Peace Love and Chicken yum

Why would you want to allow SRF in rooms? You bought the game to have some realism. Why would you want to allow an aid that basically throws all of the physics you enjoy out of the window?

Why would you want to allow SRF in rooms?
Maybe because I don't want to tell people how to play their game?
You bought the game to have some realism.
No, I bought the game to have fun. Same reason I always buy games these days. What isn't fun is going into a lobby and having the host say that I can't play the game the way I want to.

That's what arcade, practice, and A-Spec mode is for, you can play however you want! Online, unless you're the room host, you have to conform to regulations set out by the host!

I still can't believe guys like you still use that line "why can't I play like I want"! People aren't stopping you from doing it, they're just trying to keep the room even and fair. How fair is it for one guy to be running TC 5 compared to the next guy running 0? How fair is it for one to be running ABS 10 and the other 0?

We need to keep things even, everyone using the same aides! It's racing, not GTAIV! Racing has rules and regulations put into place, without it there would be chaos on the track. I compared to Grand Theft Auto because you can literally do whatever you like in it, no rules nor restrictions.

Like you said, you bought the game for fun, while another bought the game for a more serious approach, those rooms are definitely not for you! Hence why we have the 'Races for fun' and 'Races for Real' settings/filters!

Gamerdog6482, I agree that the reason I purchased the game was to have fun.

SRF is an aid that when used makes it unfair to those who do not want to use this artificial crutch.

If a person wants the realism without srf. Why should they let someone have an advantage that requires no skill. I feel it actually hinders your ability to learn to drive the way a vehicle would actually.

The answer to me is to start your own room and then you can set the parameters to your liking and those who join will all have the same mind set.

If that's the case, why do people disable them in "Free Run" rooms?

EDIT: Talking to Bluntified.

I personally dissable it to filter out the folks who just want to have "fun" in an effort to attract the more serious players.

Why do you have to be a serious driver in a free run room?
Honestly. What is the difference?

For me a few reasons.

A room with no settings can become a "free for all", folks crashing, X1's wizzing by Fiats. So I get tired of babysitting and kicking people, and a great way to do that is with settings.

I often used to get friend requests from random folks in these rooms, so I'd ask them if they like the settings I like and they usually didn't. So I changed my free run settings in a effort to attract folks who prefer the settings I like. that way If they send a freind request I know how they like to drive.

Its called free run and you seem to interpret that as meaning "anything I want to do" when it holds no official meaning, it only loosely means that there wont be any racing.

Well, the host could want to have a "simulation" track day. Or he could be practicing for a race with SRF "OFF", like me. I do this often. Once some guy came in and demanded I turn on SRF and change the PP limit. I said "No, I'm practicing for a race" He responded:
"Turn on SRF and TC"
Me "You can go make your own room"
"You make a new room, I want SRF"
"Why would I want to make a new room so you can have SRF"
"I hate you (replace "I hate" with a single word), change the settings "dog" (again replace the word)." After that he left.
This was MY room. I can do what I want with it.
Beginners like SRF (not saying ONLY Beginners use it). So if you want a room with very few beginners in it disable SRF. If anyone wants SRF, go make a room.

The host can have it off if they're practicing without it, but that makes it unfair for others if it's off in the room settings.

If YOU are practicing for a race, why does it matter what other people are doing?

Well, they could mess up good laps.

@ gamerdog: These guys/girls pretty much covered it. I'll add that in some, maybe most, free run rooms normally through in a race here and there, having whatever aides disabled from the start ensures everyone is using the same settings.

I kind of agree that free run modes don't necessarily need to disable anything BUT it still keeps a level of fairness and competitiveness. Free run rooms are usually people 'hot lapping' to get the fastest time in the room, a guy with SRF would dominate the times compared to a guy striving for realism and actually racing with technique rather than mashing buttons.

In addition to otakukid965's comment about "they could mess up good laps", this is very true, a person racing with, I'll call it 'arcade' settings for lack of a better word, could bump and cut people off without any repercussions (spinning out, fish tailing, etc.) causing the 'clean' 'serious' drivers to loose focus and decrease lap times.

The only time I use srf is in my GTR, it's the closest thing to the race mode, aside from that I don't use it at all

If YOU are practicing for a race, why does it matter what other people are doing?

Well if I'm running laps at 500PP and I want to improve my lap times. How would I gauge if I'm actually getting a good lap time if the other guy is using SRF.

The host can have it off if they're practicing without it, but that makes it unfair for others if it's off in the room settings.

Again, my room. It's not "unfair" at all. If you want SRF make a room 👍 It's "unfair" to tell a host how to run his/her room.

Well, they could mess up good laps.

Yep.

They race with it off because they want too. They race with it on because they want to.Is this really still going on? It's a stupid video game, race how ever the hell you want. Make a lounge and invite your friends then if you don't like whatever the room settings are. It's like a sandbox with a bunch of 2 year olds.

By the lap time.

Let me re-word that.

I open a 500PP testing room. I race with people that don't like and would never use SRF. So by our choice we disable it. I want to compare my car against others lap times at the same PP on the same tires with the same setting (SRF OFF, ASM OFF, etc).

If I get some guy running with SRF, the top time and the leader board will not be real. So myself and everyone else in the room will be chasing an unrealistic time.

So again, my room, my rules. If I join your room. It would be rude for me to demand the you turn "OFF" SRF because I hate.

If you want to run with SRF. Make a room. Do some laps, others that like SRF will join.

I think the solution here is to make it so you can see what aides are disabled before you enter a room.
That way I don't have to check every time I enter one.

@gamerdog, look at what your saying "why can't they play the way they want"

Why are your arguing this point, your clearly not happy to let people play the way they want to, and also. Why do you keep pushing it, just got find a room that allows it, there ya go. You are happy, and everyone else is happy....................

And you can check if SRF is on.

Well like i said, find a room the way you want it, and let these guys run a room how they want it.

But it is really annoying to go from room to room, trying to find one to your liking, and hoping to not get disconnected. Also, it is really annoying to just sit in an empty room you made for a while alone just because nobody joins.

Have you ever opened a room, with ABS, TC, SRF, everything off, no tuning. Then set the tire type to comfort soft tires? PP around 400 to 550. Or tired to find a room that those specs?

I have never had anyone join and stay for more than 2 minutes in my CS tire rooms. Having never tested it with math but I see way, way, way, wayyy more SRF rooms than ABS off CM to CS rooms (I have only found 2 in over a year). Sometimes I just want to really challenge the game.
We all wait.
