Why does PD only use rolling starts?

I've never experienced these frame rate drops either. Sounds like a "plausible" excuse. The reason we have all rolling starts now is because PD can't do competitive AI even after 10 years of presumably trying, simple.

It may have been their reply to the "it's too easy" complaints... but then they went and made the bots park when you get close to them so not sure that's that likely. Maybe they nixed the standing starts to "preserve the game's excellent balance of difficulty that millions have enjoyed for years," in light of the new advanced AI.

There was qualifying in GT4, but only for championship series. I could live with that, but I suppose then you'd have to slow your car down even more. It'd be cool if you could do the practice session and then reset the times and start from the back... after doubling the number of laps so you can make clean passes...

A reverse pole would be nice.
Place 1st at qualifying and start last at the race :)
Or a one lap qualifying starting from the pit
