Do you think GT will EVER end

GT could continue as a low budget game. That would be interesting, since development focus would distill out only the important parts. That is, the important parts according to Kaz. I think that'd be vastly more interesting than trying to maintain the circus act of your typical big-budget ROI nonsense. And that's regardless of whether the final product appeals to me as a game.
But they would still lose a significant portion of their fanbase. How, if even possible, would PD get the message across that the reason why the game was scaled back was because the series was close to being scrapped? If it were to happen and only the serious GT enthusiasts like us were aware of the situation, and thus their only fans left, then they could probably at last request input from us, a la Project CARS.

The message would be implicit if not already communicated, because the reason the budget would be decimated, or worse, is because it's not meeting the "fanbase's" requirements, to say nothing of the majority of buyers. At least, that's how poor sales are generally interpreted, whether it's true or not (going by other examples).

There is no need for PD to get pCARS style input at all, not least because that has not worked out in the "true enthusiasts'" favour there, either. Try to divorce your expectations from the actual creative processes at hand; if you want someone to make your game for you, commission them (or, better yet, make it yourself!), otherwise you'll always just have to settle for something "close enough" at best (which would likely already be far away from the typical product of big budget development).

That's the reality, regardless of whatever marketing nonsense would have you believe.

Some deep thoughts in this thread.

There doesn't have to be a game every year for something to 'end'. There were 16 years between the last Punch-Out game and the Wii one. In fact, Up until 2009 there was a very heavy stream of Crash games too, it's just that nobody wanted to play them and it eventually disappeared. Mario has never died, dunno how you could think that. DK just had a game out last month, and a game on the 3DS a year previous. Megaman has also had games in recent years.
i didn't even mention Sonic.
From what the game was and to where it is now isnt really the same. From a actual mario game to actual mario game was many many years, excluding thise mario themed games using his image. Zeldas probably a game that hasn't died and Pokemon is a no brainer. I can remember playing these on the SNES and whats out today doesnt do it justice.
The GAME dies the BRAND doesnt.

Sonic, I can agree with.
You are implying that games cannot change, Mario evolved with the times, it didn't use the Mario 'branding' as you seem to suggest, Zelda done the exact same so I don't know where you draw the line for Zelda not using the 'branding'. It's tough to replicate any sort of success over again, and Nostalgia goggles are always easier to look through.

Which is where i said that just will die unless it changes.

I'm a bit confused about PCARS. Has a project like this been done before for another genre of a game?
Is there a timeframe for release?

The timeframe changes constantly, if you want to believe the new timeframe - Fall 2014.

People keep talking about pCARS getting delayed but they seem to forget that if it meets the current date (Which it is still on target to do so) it will only be three years since the project started, quite normal for a game development. People just seem to think it's been longer because it's been semi-public the whole time.

Yes, eventually all things come to an end sooner or later. Its really not a question of will it come to an end, but more like when. Will it be next year, 5 years from now, or 10....no one really knows but you can bet it will eventually end sometime. I mean come on, the OP's question is like asking, "Will I live forever?" There is only one definite answer. Nothing is forever.

It will end if it still modeled from the original structure? I recently had the YLoD on my Phat160 and fired up the ole PS2 slim to get my GT fix on some GT3/GT4, it was pretty much the same as GT5/GT6, if you don't count the better physics and graphics of the latter, it's the same architecture. as it is now to me, GT6 is a dumbed down for the casual masses version of GT5!
While I still login everyday, for 6-8 hour stints during the week and double that on the weekends, obviously I still enjoy it, but it's time that PD made a major change of direction. In short as soon as I source a new/rebuilt dedicated PC for iRACING or what have you, it gets mounted on my rig.
While I want to go with the multiscreen GT setup (+2 PS3, 3 new 27" monitor, current is a single 42") can't justify with the current state of GT. I'd just rather get some new steel and weld up a new triple screen SIM PC rig....that' just me though. It was a great run PDI, thanks. :gtpflag:

Nope, it carries on.

Even this is a "good" joke.

Everyone knows it's a lie anyway, I mean come on, Kaz spoke to someone? Like, communication? As if.
Kaz doesn't talk to anyone, ever; it's always Translator-san relaying the "message". He probably went rogue out of frustration. No, rogue, not rouge (not this time, anyway).

Theres a simple logic after watching Kaz's movie

No Motortoon GP- No Gran Turismo 1
No freedom from Shuhei Yoshida- No Motortoon GP
No GT2000- No GT3(they would be stuck in PS1 land)
No GTHD- No GT5P(meaning no GT5)
No GT Academy- No Lucas Ordonez etc.
No loyalty from Nissan- No exclusivity to creating special Nissan cars

Techinically, GT is not going to die til they lose support from manufacturers also with GTA graduates' support and lastly if ever GT7 is still stuck in PS3 graphics and performance

No offence to Lucas but he nor GTA have any influence or bearing of the future of GT.

Very true, thats a venture from Nissan going against the norm finding the unusually gifted that no one would look at twice. Like the red bull and mclaren programs but started digitally through a game that nissan has partnered up with.
