Will GT5 and the G27 (wheel)?

It seems like there are only 2 options when it comes to a wheel for GT5...DFGT or G27.

Are there any other wheels that are fully supported by the game? Is there a list of supported wheels anywhere?

Yes, on this forum, and I can confirm that my Fanatec works in prologue, so I can reasonably expect it work in GT5, I only hope the FFb is way better, or I'll be back on the DFGT in seconds

wow I just bought a gt3 and have had a few hours with it on gt5p... so what's the problem with the FFb? I have a dfp and the fanatec makes the dfp feel horrible.

I upgraded from a DFGT, The feeling in the wheel is much less now, cant feel the bumps or rumpble strips.

Would you mind posting here your current setting so I can compare?

Come to think of it I might not be able to feel the rumble strips either.:( I come from playing on a controller so the sound and mostly visual cues are all I need. My settings are...sens 900 ffb 40, sho 0, lin. 0-10 dea 0-10, drift 3-5 depending on car.

cheers ill try them, if you feel like updateing your firmware to 681 and have trouble, feel free to pm me, i had loads of trouble but found a way to do it on vista 32

1st time poster, so be kind
RE: Clutch cheat
i have a basic understanding of electronics and i can see very easily see how simple it would be possible to modify the electronics to to produce this cheat, i won't give any specifics but its not exactly rocket science.

FIRST REAL UPDATE:

I drive with G25.
Clutch users, rejoyce! Clutch works, same style as GT5:Prologue, no official support, you still have to press triangle before the race, but the beauty is here.
nice....!!!!!!!!!!👍

So you just need to press triangle when? While "loading" or after you press Start Race?
I haven't tried that with my G25 in GT5P, so I don't know when.
P.S. Thanks ;)

in GT5P ,and after start race press the triangle and the clutch work...

in GT5P and with my G27 works as a on off button...

Actually, the clutch does use a friction point. It's a very fine and small friction point, but if you are very careful and let off the clutch very slowly you will see that it is smooth linear movement and not an on/off switch.

At least that's what I have noticed. Is there any details or statements that say it's an on/off switch or not?

How can they call this game a "driving simulator" and not fully support the g27? That's great that you can hit triangle and get the clutch to work. I'd like full linear support (on the brake too) with some sort of sensitivity adjustment. That way you could use the nixim brake pedal mod effectively.

QFT. When you finally do find GT5Ps friction point you can sort of remember it. Its almost like a triple clutch and a very fine point to find, but it is there and it is linear.

Not sure we have a clear understanding? The link to the post is invalid, so did someone test this out already?

We need answers!

Agree on GT5P it does have a small friction point.
My track car has a twin disc clutch & the clutch engament window is a few MM so it was easy for me to get used to the GT5P clutch engament point.
It will take you some time to get used to it starting from a stop but while racing it doesn't matters because you are hammering thru the gears

Not lifting your foot off the gas and shifting (upshifting not downshifting) is called no lift shifting or powershifting... it is not great for trannys but there are electronics that are made for you so you can do this with a car and not hurt your tranny... most turbo charged cars do this to hold boost while shifting so you get no boost lag.. and this is how I would drive on GT5 powershifting every gear all the time... im going to wait it out and see how this wheel works with GT5. And calling no lift shifting a "cheat" is bs.. its called knowing how to race propertly and get every ounce of power out of your car.

Yeah you can use evoscan to mod a stock lancer evolution ECU to drop RPMS to a specified point thru each gearshift with no lift shifting. It is amazing for a stock ECU. What we tend to forget is most of these people here are bench racers and always will be that. I will no lift shift every shift if allowed to as it is a truthful way that you can shift a car.

Hello everybody. I'm going to be purchasing a G27 wheel very soon. Was just wondering how button assignment will be done since there is no official support.

I'm getting a PS3 and GT5 next week and I'll be getting myself a G27 for christmas.

Very keen to hear the finer details about how this wheel will be supported with GT5!

i just use an N2MB wotbox on my mustang. no lift shift and 2 step rev limiter

there's a difference between a realistic no-lift shift on a manual, a really fast electronic double clutch like the new Ferrari's, and the cheating in GT5:P.

Realistic manual no-lift still has some drop in power to the wheels, as does the electronic dual clutch system, albeit brief.

The one in the game is NO DELAY AT ALL. The power just stays 100% constantly, which isn't possible without a CVT. If you're changing gears you can't be in two gears at once, and gears can't change instantaneously (nothing happens instantaneously in the real world), therefore there MUST be a delay of some sort.
