Look at this nonsense... MS removing options all over the place for absolutely no valid reason so you have no choices, only what they want you to have.

Build 9879 Top, 9926 Bottom.
Thats because its both already available on Customization options and the control panel. At least thats what i can see.

Ah. It's no wonder you don't see me around here, didn't know there was a technical Windows 9. Still just getting comfortable with 7  Sorry!

Why does MS have to fiddle with the Metro side of things :ouch:, all people wanted was the desktop to be sorted out and looking at the latest build they have made every app and the Start Screen (now menu) really ugly and backwards looking. They should have left all the Metro stuff as it was.

Which looks better?

I think the new one looks like Windows 95! and it's less clean 'newspaper' looking.

Where is Windows getting such horrible designs from ? I like my windows 7 and don't want any think else ! Maybe if android made a computer I would buy it.

Their were a few Android Desktop units made by Asus.

Even one that was a hybrid.
It was an All In One unit with a removable 18" Tablet thing that had android on it, there was a button on the side that allowed you to switch between android and Windows 8.

I dont know how one would use a large and heavy screen like a normal tablet.
But that remote desktop function is good.

That was a cool device, pity the phone slotting into a tablet thing never took off but I guess there were obvious reasons why.

My biggest issue, as far as design goes, is losing Aero. I can get that back with Aero Glass, but I still think it's a step back.

Also, Classic Shell. Gotta remember to think of that.

So the release date has now been confirmed for the 29th July. I do hope they have tested this thing properly and not rushed it out the door because of the bad reception of 8. The build versions have been really buggy.

Also want to see how many apps they have as they said they will bring many more Andriod apps over.

Is there a way to opt out of the so called upgrade?

Well in the most recent round of Windows Updates they have installed some kind of nagging reminder which pops up in the bottom right of your screen. Although no one will be forced to upgrade getting rid of the notice constantly bugging you to upgrade might be tricky.

Not really. You just sign up for it. Or if you don't want to upgrade you uninstall the windows update module.

That... seems pretty damn accurate to me.

I'm enjoying the Technical Preview thus far, so much so that 7 doesn't even exist as a thing on my hard drives anymore. I'll probably rectify that before July though.

I may actually try to download that Windows 10 *update*. I basically got used to Windows 8 (8.1, actually) after having owned my current PC for over a year and change. So maybe Windows 10 will be a substantial upgrade. I will try to download and install this Windows 10 deal this week. I am just not sure if I'll really be satisfied with everything. Sure will give it a try, of course.

I've been using 10 without any problems that I didn't already run into with 7 (or problems that haven't already been fixed) for a couple months now. It's definitely a much faster OS. Only thing that nags me are some minor glitches regarding mouse clicks which I'm sure is just a driver thing that will be fixed.
