Thanks! Because of this both my PC's with windows 8.1 are upgraded!Guys, I know that some might fail to install the upgrade. One thing for sure, though:
1. Forcing an update via CMD doesnt work since it will display error at the end.
2. Using an ISO might work for most people. However some might encounter the infamous "Something Happened" bug. Plus it doesnt help when you already has the full $WindowsBT folder but also downloading the ISO which might hurt the quota for some people.
So heres how to enable it, the safer, easy, and most quota friendly way:
0 (prepare): You need to clean up the SoftwareDistribution>Download like stated on previous page. Or just use MS FixIt tools (fix windows update) on the net.
1. Open Regedit. You can type it on the search bar and it will show you.
2. Open Folder:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>SOFTWARE>Microsoft>Windows>CurrentVersion>WindowsUpdate>OSUpgrade
3. Add the new registry of D-WORD (32-bit) Value. Name it: AllowOSUpgrade (Case sensitive)
4. Set the value to 1 (The -eximal part does not need change).
5. Check again the update. It should have welcomed you with the upgrade to windows 10 afterwards.
6. Click "Get Started" and voila!
Total is 2,711.4 GB But in reality it grabs less from the net, that is if you happen to already have the full $WindowsBT on C: folder.
