I have been reading up about the new tyre wear and it has really split opinion but I think the majority are actually happy because it seems tyre wear is more realistic now.

I remember in the Rsing Sun Cup, I thought I would try something 'clever' and run Racing hards at Nordshliefe but they only made the same distance as the Racing softs. The only difference was that I was much slower.

It appears that the Racing softs now last about 30% - 50% less than they used to and the Racing hards are probaly wearing at the same rate as before.

This could really spice up the Lupo cup. Rather than people always running racing softs, they will really have to consider mediums or hards and hope those on softer tyres will now have to make 2 pitstops.

I can't wait. This is going to be good!

BYO
Does any1 know if the concrete before the tunnel is part of the track? I'm guessing it is but suppose depends on penalties 💡
I put in a few laps cutting over the concrete and did a 120.1 offline :)

At best I'm about 2 seconds off :grumpy:

Its gona be a tough one, my tyres were pretty shot as well. Mediums might just be the winning option ;)

Wow - that was fun last night. Testing tires is now a really big deal. I love it, makes it even more real.

Tires/tyres either way its a new gt5 game with these new wear physics.

I'm going to take a gamble and do 1 stop , one stint on soft one on medium.

Wish me luck :)

Just not sure which I should start on .

ive seen series where its mandatory to put on all three of the racing tyres on to make it more realistic

I think having to use 2 compounds is a good rule but all 3 is just bonkers that is not realistic .

I think I have the winning strategy. After formulating a very complex equation that takes tyre wear, position probability and effects of traffic into account, the equation spewed out the answer....... = HOPE AND PRAY. ;)

Awesome race guys , its a shame I didn't get a podium finish after leading for so long .

These new tire wear physics make the racing much more challenging , I managed the tires quite well the first 2 stints but pushed too hard in the last stint when drive101 was catching me , between defending him and racing him and the same with canu , it killed my tires.

Always a great time racing with you all , see you next week.

That was a fantastic race! The different pit strategies played out nicely and the new tirewear improvements are going to make for an exciting championship. Pity about the last few laps there Skeng, if we kept our heads we could have been fighting for the win, instead of 3rd and 4th, but the battle we had was awesome. Thanks. Well done Driver101, great win considering you were last after the first lap and well done to Scale for the overall..... good race strategy running the mediums from the start ;) But once again Byo was the fastest by far and somehow managed to attract bad luck again.

Thanks Guys, Yip I was last but tried to keep it cool and then caught up. It was so intense, I spent lap after lap trying my best to catch Skeng, it was like a few tenths every lap, and at the same time I was looking after the tires....not easy.

Really great racing, thanks, I also cant believe how close we all are, I qualified 0.4 off pole position and started 6th.....wow.

Bring on the next one.

Oh....and I wish you all a good Xmas.

Homes I will see you in the Ferrari challenge

I Enjoyed the race but crashed myself out twice lol, just shows u that if u don't concentrate the crap can hit the fan. I was pushing too hard and my strategy was not panning out how I wanted and then when I spun out that was me out of contention. I should have run mediums to start but thought I would make positions by going with softs, maybe if I didn't crash things would have been different.
Driver had a great race to come from last, amazing to get the win.

Some how I have been able to push in qualifying, was lucky to get pole.

Wow I got someone asking to be teammates with me , makes me feel special :)

I think my friend Tyrell might or has dropped out so we might be able to team up wishywish

In retrospect if I ran my last stint on medium tires I would have had that race in the bag , sigh , all in hindsight.

The lupo races are going to be a lot better now because we will have to stop twice every race compared to before when we would all do 1 stops .

We might have to continue this series again .

No no no....... I'm hoping we might run a same car Ford Falcon V8 series ( go get it in the online dealership now ) or a rising sun part 2 and then we can come back to our beloved Lupos :) Drive the V8 and tell me what you think..... I dig the car!!!!!

mx5's ?
dlc racing ones then every one can have a number and a colour

Yes I guess the lupos have run their time , something faster is due .

So what do you guys think ? The falcon ? Or the miata ? Or gt500 cars ?

I would really enjoy a rising sun cup part2.

Even better, with tuning prohibited. I think Canu, Driver and the rest had superior tunes to the others because of how they gained 2 seconds on the others in pretty much every quali session, so this way we could give driving skill a much bigger role as it's much more important in the end than tuning skill.

the guys up front ran soft all race and pitted twice, i ran mediums for 20 laps then pitted for soft. I was 1:28 behind at the end :/

It's difficult to make this series for me at the moment so it looks like I'll have to withdraw. Also whenever the phone rings I loose connection so that makes early races difficult. I enjoyed the Lupos when I was there though.

Good luck with the new series Homes or whoever hosts it 👍

I ran medium for 12 laps and then 2 shortened soft stints. If I didn't bump Scale off and then have to wait for him and let him thru again, I think it could have been a very interesting finish. Bit everyone had there problems this race, so it's hard to say which strategy worked best :)

I think it was clear that running all 3 soft stints doesn't work , well it didn't for me .

I think 2 soft and 1 medium is the winning formula .

Well driver101 u are the winner what strategy did you run ?
