The worst car has to be the Jay Leno Tank Car.

+1000... completeley worthless -- I got two of them as prize cars:tdown:👎 and they have NO resale value?? HOW can a car that costs 4.9 million in the USD have NO resale value when I win it brand new??:grumpy::yuck:

The worst car I've driven so far is probably the Caterham Fireblade, purely for the fact that I remember it being a hell of a lot more fun to drive in previous GT's. For a car that's only like 300kg (I forget the actual weight) it doesn't quite handle like it. I remember it being snappy and quick, and it just doesn't feel like it in GT5.

I finally got around to driving/testing the Caterham last night, and was pleasantly surprised after reading the negative posts on it around here. I think the power comes on just fast enough to avoid wheelspin, and the handling is fairly well balanced.

My Autumn Ring Mini lap time, and handling rating places it right between the 2010 Camaro SS and the Ferrari 599. Not too shabby; just a little slower than other cars with comparable P/W ratios (although some of them are race cars).

Are you kidding, mate??

I love the Tank Car. Fantastic to go drifting in. ;) You can see where the front wheels are pointed in relation to your countersteer, and you can get the back-end INSTANTLY loose just mashing on the gas. Good times. :D

I remember in GT4 me and my brother used to get a kick out of driving those old Mercs from the 1800's at the drag strip in Las Vagas at 19 kph.
You had to time the shift from 1st too 2nd perfectly or you would lose.
I tried one of these at Deep Forest, and you have to carefully zig-zag up the hills on the main straight. There isn't enough power to drive straight up. Took about 6 minutes to go down the front straight. lol Couldn't make a full lap, though. The other hills were just too steep for the switchback technique. :)

For me, 'worst car' doesn't mean 'slowest car'. For me, the worst is a car that's hard to control -- either it's way overpowered, or it won't turn without congressional approval (both House and Senate). For the most part, those tendencies can be tuned out, though. I'll check the garage tonight, and see which one is the least fun to drive...

The new challanger
Car is ugly as sin....paper bag ugly. Its hard for me to even think of a car that looks worse from the rear. No fault on PD, as the real car is ugly as sin aswell. That and it drives like ****.

What? It looks better than any Skyline you care to mention!

Hell, the LF-A looks even worse!

It has two V8s in a single block. You're both sort of right.

yeah, it desperately needs a new transmission. it's geared waaaaay too long for any useful purpose

Yes, even with full modification it doesn't feel sharp enough. Probably due to the lack of weight it seems to just slide around rather than turn, accelerate or brake. GT5's new physics engine doesn't seem to have suited the Caterham.

I guess I'm driving a different Caterham then, 'cause the one in my PS3 runs comparable lap times on ARM to the Ferrari 599 and even a few race cars. (I'll admit it could use a tad more gear down low...but it's not horrible).

But then again, I like the cars for what they are and don't mod them to the moon and back and then complain that they don't all drive like the Minolta. :D :p

I haven't used it much, but what really sticks out in my mind is racing it around London (British lightweights) and not getting that great performance. Maybe it's the track, maybe it's me, but I just think it should handle a bit better. Seemed a little sluggish for a 300kg car.

Heh, funny.
I have family that love muscle cars, and they all agree the new challenger is probably hands down the worst looking muscle car they've seen in years.

I'm not the biggest muscle car fan (prefer my Euros), but I actually like the new Challenger (true, it's not the best, but hardly the worst either). It's certainly better than the new Camaro, which also looks better than some of stuff the Japanese have been putting out lately. It certainly doesn't deserve to be in this thread.

The guy said, and I'm paraphrasing here, that the new Challenger is "ugly as sin" and "can't think of any car that looks worse from the rear."

Immediately, I can name many cars that look worse (recent Acuras & the Nissan Juke?). And as I already mentioned, the LF-A's exterior is a mess.

And to go even further and in the topic of this thread, if the new Challenger was the worst car in GT, then that's not a lot to complain about.

And FWIW, kei cars are the worst. Ugly, slow, uninspiring. At least muscle cars allow you to have some hooliganism fun.

i also have to back up the suckish cars. to some extent hell i even have more fun driving the bloody prius more then the bugatti atleast the prius can take corners. tuned up the new insight isnt to bad either the cappucino is a sad but yet happy car i did the seasonal event for it and i only needed 3 gears...... but i was drinking a cappucino while driving it so it was worth it lol :sly:

I despise the Yaris/Vitz. Ugly as stink, and slow and unresponsive to boot. I physically laugh when I see an Echo in real life (what the Yaris/Vitz was sold as here previously).

Just tried out the Subaru 360 and of course quickly reached the 50 mph limit driving the 'Ring.

A quick trip to the Tuning Shop for a Custom tranny sorted that. Saw 87 mph once (not sure how realistic 87 mph from 15 Hp is but still).

The sweeping right hander (before the end of the first section of the AMG Challenge) proved interesting. Plenty of smoke and some opposite lock was required. Not entirely sure how possible that would be in real life but seeing as an approach at around 80 mph is not feasible stock I guess it would be difficult to find out.

One bad car (to my mind) is a fully upgraded Mk 1 Golf GTi. Talk about understeer! I presume it ought to be possible to do something about it, but not being an expert (and the PS3 being incompatible browsing some good settings) I have no idea what to try.

Fully upgraded a Fiat Panda and was unimpressed though fortunately a Quit from Practice removed the parts and returned my money. Always best to go from Upgrades to Practice with no saves!

I made a Fiat 500 (the old one) go pretty quick and handle well. But then I found out that if you come to a complete stop on a hill then you can't start to accelerate again until your on a flat.

The Autozam is FUN. Oversteer at 25mp!!! Mine is blue, gold rims, bodykit, and 133bhp!

And for Cappuxino haters - RM it.

I listed the slowest cars here though I have acquired one or two since that might "qualify", such as the Step Van.

Also not sure how quick most of the relatively modern Japanese 63BHP cars are, but I would imagine they will go quicker than 80.

SSR7 isn't an ideal proving ground though, I felt a couple of cars with particular gearing were benefitting more from slight downhills, I might try the Mulsanne straight next, when I have time (unsurprisingly it's a sloooow process!)

Yeah... I did a practice on the huge dirt trial on Eigard Norwand and couldn´t get that thing to pass the uphill section. I had to stop, put it on first, rev up and to my amusement, the thing started to slide backwards down the hill. It was very funny.
Lol I had a similar thing happen with the 65 Fiat 500. That kept sliding down the hill.

Tank Car is a obvious one .. not so obvious is the premium BMW M5 ..it under steers then over steers then goes on 2 wheels its crazy.

the UCD M5 is way better for some reason.

None of them are as bad as that 1 hp horseless carriage thing I got for winning some very big race in GT4 I think it could get up to about jogging speed before the limiter kicked in and knocked you down to walking speed. Frickin' scooter chair would have probably been good competition for it.
It is historically significant for being one of the first cars ever made, but otherwise, it is hilariously abysmal. That being said, it's not the worst due to it being one of the first cars ever.

The Elise in the top gear challenge, it's using comfort-hards
I hated driving that car so much in the Top Gear Challenge. It was incredibly frustrating and makes me wonder why it wasn't the Expert mode for the Top Gear Challenge.

Any car that cant drive up a hill. Rather get out the car and start walking to the finish lane.

I once did a Kubelwagen race just fooling around on a Course Maker track I was testing, and it could only make it half-way up a hill early into the lap. I backed down the hill and got a good run at it, but still couldn't make it, and had to drop it into first gear and slowly zig-zag up the hill but after a couple minutes snaked my way to the top. The AI can't think of stuff like that, so they just sat there with their gas pedals to the floor as they hopelessly coasted back down at full throttle.

I also took a really slow car around The Ring (the 24-hour version). I think it might have been the old Fiat 500. I only endured one lap and quit, but I think that lap was around 20 minutes.

2CV Update:

So, yeah, I pimped this bad boy up to a whopping 57BHP!! No supercharger option allowed, I'm afraid - no need for a method of dealing with exhaust gasses when your powerplant is an elastic band I guess. I slapped some racing stickies on it's feet and took it to the ring. 13minutes 23 seconds! It's not easy, tho, three times I almost drove straight off the track because I was too busy trying to claw my own eyes out my head to concentrate on the corner entrys.

On the plus side I've found a new torture device that I can sell to any unscrupulous governments who don't like waterboarding because the suicide rate is too low - the engine sound from bumper cam! Imagine being stuck in an empty oil drum, listening to Barry White being raped by a bunch of helicopters ...

Stock one does it in 31 minutes.
Fiat 500 does it in 20.
I will try the Subaru 360 next.
