...to start using the d-pad and 'x','square' etc buttons to play GT3, GTC etc if us Europeans are planning on getting GT4?

Getting over the idea, i thought you could steer in GT4P with the left stick

I also thought that X and Square were analogue, as well

Umm no its the right analog stick being used for accelrating and braking that won't work in GT4P. You can still steer with the right analog stick.

I rekon it will be sorted for the PAL version anyway.
