Why given that since WRC 5 and them taking over the series we have had solid year-on-year improvement in the series, something that is notoriously difficult to do with annualised releases.
I tend to agree with him, even though i like 9 more than previous ones, 1st non constant annoying game, but that’s not saying much is it, lots of room for improvement.

It can be a lot of fun of course.
9 is 1st game with usable cockpit view for most cars. Legends sound good now too.

They do improve some things a little, but frankly, lots of basic things year after year stay problematic, its been what 7 years now?

Graphic optimization/runs maybe at 15fps on base ps4 on rugged stage parts causing nausea except maybe in 3rd person.. not unacceptable.., sounds of modern cars is just barely ok, repeating sounds for bonus ones, which are very few,

bad ai balancing/difficulty, bad visibility/darkness with no brightness settting, even in sunny day in cockpit view you can often barely see where the road is, i up my tv brightness by 25 for this game,

unintuitive ui, no custom championships, keeping a car or 2 as dlc when there's very few cars in base game, basic arcadey style setup settings, arcadey style damage and wear, no career/season with other cars than the current wrc ones for single player with ai, leaving all bonus and legend cars as quick one stage use, etc..

They should have done 1 game per 2y instead, and polish it, improve further.
My 2 cents anyhow.
I know that's mostly a publisher decision.

Also cutting content and then adding a small stage from previous game locations as part of anniversary as if its an addition, plus limiting it, isn't much of a plus.
Just being devil's advocate here.

Been trying out more the modern cars in 9, have to admit wrc2,wrc, the Porsche too, feel great on bumpy tarmac of germany.
Pretty stiffly sprung , and lively, challenging on that type of road.

Will be good to get corsica back in generations, for some more bumpy tarmac.
I dont know if croatia is bumpy maybe too.

Belgium seems pretty smooth.

I was just thinking, i sure hope all these extra rallies outside of the current season will be playable in season or career, if there's no custom championship too, it will be a waste for singleplayer, only quick stage runs.

Oh, it's not perfect, and certainly runs better on PC than console, but the difference between 5 (which was a glitchy mess that had appallingly screen tearing and frame pacing that made it almost unplayable at times) and where we ended up with 10 is significant, and certainly can't be ignored.

A lot of the (while valid) criticisms you've raised are also likely byproducts of the license and forced on the dev team, next year will be the real proof of that, but many are annoyances that were in WRC before 5. Given the fact that annual releases (with one odd exception when it was 2 years), a license that almost certainly dictated many of the factors, and the point the studio started at, I think they did a great job within those limits. It's no different from many of the issues that Codies face with the F1 series, in fact, I would argue that the WRC series over the years has managed more significant change than the F1 series has.

The PC, PS5 & Xbox Series X versions are going to be superior to the Nintendo Switch version, well, it's not just its hardware power.

They can support wheelbase with force feedback plus having the ability to add a handbrake, load-cell pedal set & gearbox shifter while the Nintendo Switch version only features a bungee cord instead of force feedback while cannot add a handbrake, load-cell pedal set & gearbox shifter.

Edit: I'm not saying the Nintendo Switch version is going to be bad, but I'm expecting this game is going to be an awesome rallying game.

It's a WIP dev build, we may have more to come.
I see yeah, i thought it's like an official reveal video but i guess it's a video put together by the channel its on.

About the license on our previous posts, i agree, i tend to not feel too anxious with licenced games.
Always pressure to use it as much and often as can from a publisher as a cashgrab.

Even after the license expires, publishers can still set goals etc but im sure less so. We'll see i guess.

Decided to preorder, wasn't sure I was even going to buy it at all but it's looking like it'll be strong on content and I found it for preorder on PS5 for about £27, which is crazy good for a brand new game.

Also from that video above, we have at least 2 new legendary cars, the 2002 Peugeot 206 and 2010 Citroën C4. According to the description given by Alan however, it seems the Peugeot is a preorder bonus and the C4 is exclusive to the deluxe edition (only available digitally I believe). Hopefully they can be purchased separately.

More details coming imminently courtesy of the Games Made in France show. Hopefully we get some details we haven't heard yet and maybe a final car list.

France is 6h ahead of New York it seems, same as in my place. Its 15h now here so it already been done maybe?
Really curious of car list, 15 new legends?
Did a search on youtube, nothing.

Edit: tried twitch, looked like they were about to try corsica in generations then video stopped.

No pre-order on ps store.

Seems to be some confusion brewing on release dates. It still isn't up for digital preorder yet, places like Amazon and Base as well as all Nacons media says 13th October but shopto and other European stores are showing 3rd November for the physical copies. My preorder from Base still says 13th October but no one seems to know for definite.

That hands on preview you posted for France.., did anything come out on this? I didn't see any.

The modeling is still not up to standard. Really disappointing 😒
Their biggest weakness to me is their continued poor car models on both their dimensions and textures. GT7 level is not necessarily expected but Codemasters have great car models in DiRT.

EDIT - I must say I'm still looking forward to this title as a final send-off for KT's WRC games... they've gradually made positive steps with each title and WRC 10 has been immensely fun to drive.

I'm looking forward to Generations too, in fact I've pre-ordered. Not long to go :)

In the historic section it looks like the Ford Escort had been lost and the Peugeot 206 and Citroen C4 added.

Bear in mind it's not an official video, it's something that VVV put together so might not be accurate of the finished product.

And it's worth pointing out that the 206 is a preorder bonus and the C4 is part of the deluxe edition.

Just had this email today, from base.com whete i preordered the physical version. Wonder why it's been delayed so close to release.

Its lower priced too than previous entries, surprisingly. I wonder if there will be dlc apart from those 2 cars in pre-order and fully loaded ed.
Still no news, previews of new car content etc.
Wrc10 std ed, is again 20$ cad on psn.

The 206 and C4 are new cars to the series. I just hope there's still a dedicated mode for the classics, not just a special one time thing for the anniversary last time out.
