Found a good fun one amongst my cars, the Corolla with a TC America tune from 05XR8 (https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/tc-america.434103/) . This car fit my AT driving even better than the Elantra. Overtook Sasaki before the Flugplatz on lap 2, built a 15 second lead and never looked back. Won by around 8 seconds.

Volvo 240: V8 Turbo Brick
@ROCKET JOE 's V8 Tour Bus is the superior platform.

  • 1000hp at 600pp
  • Turbo lag
  • Mid Engine weight distribution...
  • Rear engine lift off oversteer if you trail brake too long and are off throttle too long
  • Brakes? No
  • Handles slightly worse because I did not paint it green
  • Please apply the throttle responsibly

I don't understand how you can control a Volvo with LS7? It's a crazy car! Maybe it's because I'm using a gyroscope controller, which means the wheels rarely stay straight. This is the only car in the game I've ever managed to flip, without crashing, just the stiff suspension and sharp turns. Before that, I didn't even know cars could flip in GT7.

I'll try your settings, maybe then I'll be able to get it to handle.

Always Normal for me. Controller and AT so Hard is pretty much out of the question for me. lol
The controller and automatic transmission aren't a limitation. I also drive with a controller (gyro) and most often with automatic transmission (sometimes MT), and the level is always difficult. The only reason I might not win is a lack of practice while getting used to the track and a new car. Understanding the real physics of car control has been a big help for me. The last thing that improved my driving skills is this article: https://www.gran-turismo.com/ru/gt7/apex/driving_technique/04

Driving and tuning crazy / difficult cars is my hobby in GT7. Funnily enough, after struggling for a day and a half with the swapped Abarth 595, the LS7 Volvo felt easy

I'm using the analog stick for steering. In general, I've heard it's easier to catch and correct slides with the controller. Though I have no idea if that applies to gyroscope steering.

Made some adjustment to the 86 and managed to win just barely on hard difficulty. Managed to pass Sazaki on Brunchenn and built up a 5 second lead on him before he passed me again on the final straight. Managed to outbrake him just before the final chicane and win the race.

Kokubun is a jerk here somehow, blocking and tried to punt me off the road.

Well done on the adjustments to your set-up! When I ran the first one, I could only place 3rd as I ran out of steam. With the revised,I was able to get a decent lead and had a battle at the Dottinger with Haywood. My last two races have been either Haywood or Kokobun on top, not Sasaki.

Might as well give that a try, on Sports Softs. 🤔

I Managed a narrow win with the Demon-Tundra thanks to Sasaki going off hot thru Schwedenkreuz on the second lap.

Used Sport Softs and made more small adjustments. SS felt more balanced than RH with these settings. Somehow the car is only 1 second slower than when I was using RH. It's insane I was able to pass the Xiaomi on Wehrseifen in final lap and built up around 15 seconds lead until the final straight.

This is me passing the GTR on the start of second lap. Lucky fit lol

I'm actually planning on using Sports Softs after this lol but I suspect I won't be able to maneuver as crazy as I was with RH.
Did an MF Ghost run on this. Sports Soft tires.

Done on Hard difficulty, yes.

I have had a few more attempts on Normal difficulty.

First was one of my swapped Escort RS Cosworths. To get to 600pp, it needed the ECU down to 72, racing brakes, and SM tires.
WC 2.6.26 WTC600.ESCORT RS.webp

Next, I pulled out one of my modified E36 M3s to see where I could put it. I only had one issue in the race with bottoming out coming out of the foxhole on lap 1.
WC 2.6.26 WTC600.E36.webp

Last, just to spite what Ferrari did by throwing the Testarossa IP out the window with that abomination they just released. I pulled out one of my stock Testarossas, bolted SS tires, racing brakes, and the exhaust manifold. Those brought it up to 600pp and ready to go. I did have a huge save after the Karussel and it was a ton of fun to drive.
WC 2.6.26 WTC600.TESTAROSSA.webp

The E36 and the Escort RS might be able to do it on Hard.

Sport Softs seems to be the best one for this build IMO

Also is it confirmed that Kanata's 86 has 350hp ? I thought it's just around 300hp?
For anything legitimate that can be fast for 600 pp, Sports tires are enough. You'd risk losing power and adding weight when using slicks just to meet the regulations.

And I skewed around the HP. Lol. Never really cared much about MF Ghost with that subpar writing. Not surprised why the story lasted only five rounds of racing.

Anyhow, here's a track prepped Mustang that I actually love.

Subaru and Subaru seems to be better in terms of writing so far. Felt more like Initial D as in the legacy characters are more involved.

Thanks for the mustang settings. I'm actually trying to build one.

For those who " struggle " with the track and want a safe and pleasant journey at Green hell , Smoothbore Express might be your choice.

The sister kerb eater, Evo rally car no tune version. Straight out of the dealer just two things to buy, racing hard tires and the custom manual gearbox. Stock suspension settings unchanged just lower the ride height to 85, gearbox set 6th to 280 kph and detune ECU to get under 600pp, tune done! All the newer rally cars can be done the same way and since stock they have a little baked in over steer, great fun to drive!

True mostly.

Racing Tires have a slight edge in the high speed corners. The more technical the track, the more likely a build running even Racing Hard tires will pull away.

The caveat is that losing momentum is punished more harshly.

I considered building for more top speed here, but there are so many corners that the acceleration and top speed advantage that a Sports Soft build might have is negligible. For example, I've been chasing @Greycap 's frankly amazing Subaru run (14:15.xxx) with my project Audi R8 V10.

On Sports Softs, my overall best run was ~5 seconds slower than his, with my fast lap 3 seconds behind his.

R8 V10 600PP Norm - Results.webp

After I updated my build, I gained 5 seconds overall on his run, and finally matched his fast lap. My build is typical for the class; I get more PP to play with for fitting the Semi-Racing Manual, but I hand most of it back for adding the Racing Suspension.

R8 V10 600PP Super - Results.webp

The Settings. I could raise the Front Spring Rate to lessen the push when jumping off the brakes harshly... or I could just learn to trail brake properly.

  • No widebody
  • No diffuser
  • Wide Offset wheels at smallest diameter
  • Front Aero
  • Rear Wing B (but you could pick any other wing)

It would be interesting to see how power builds on Sports Mediums do. Initially, I thought that 600pp Tokyo Grind builds on Sports Hards would run away with this.

It's nothing new but anyway :
Following @km666 I tried my first ever "swapped kei car" experience. With the Beat available at the UCD atm I had my car, used some setup from YouTube, changed the recommended RS tires to SS and went to track with 551 PP. I needed a lap or two to get used to car handling, braking points and all that but the first complete attempt was cool already. Honestly I was astonished how drivable the little monster actually is. And I survived the race, cleanly.

Tried my Polo rally car build (300 bhp, 1200 kg, sports soft tyres) on hard difficulty. Had to tweak the setup slightly to make the gears taller and the ride height a little lower. After around five attempts I finally beat the SU7. Not the cleanest race, but not too bad under the circumstances.

And just to give you an idea how gigantic the four-wheeled smartphone is.

View attachment 1511953

I just realized how big it is this car! I saw irl the Xiaomi SUV (named YU7 I think) that is quite similar to this sedan and it didn’t seem so big because of its balanced proportions.
By the way, the SU7 front appears to be quite high and a bit suv-esque, isn’t it?

A 600 PP Hyundai N TCR is competitive with the high rpm turbo, racing transmission and sports hard tires (ECU at 92% I think), but watch out when the turbo kicks in, as the torque steer in the FWD is a handful.

Tried a few cars for this event.

Nissan S15 Touring Car, easy win change tires to sports softs, adjustable gears.

Suzuki Cappo, 13B swap, does bite however but best overall.

Toyota HiMedic, fully tuned, PP is so low even with racing soft tires only around 572pp, but beaten the SU7 twice. See below,
