Is there anyway to be able to see how many posts a user has made?
Also how do you tell if a user is online?
 
Love the new site Jordan.This is exactly why I am glad I paid the money for a premium membership. Great job.

Not yet - give the big man a break though, migrating the server over is no small feat and I am sure bit 'n bobs will find their way back down the line once the dust has settled.
 
@SlipZtrEm I'm loving the improvments that has been made but having an old iPhone 3GS with an outdate version of iOS, the app was a lot smoother and faster. I'll be upgrading soon, so that won't be an issue for long.

If it's a legimitate issue with the site (ie - an error), by all means.

If it's a personal preference complaint, there's no point, really.

As I said before the switch, looks great, Jordan! :cheers:
 
Hi liking the new look. Something new to get our teeths into but first impressions all looks good.

Problems found so far is where are the option to open and close our own threads like before or are we not having that option any more?
Plus some of my old threads at the bottom of it, it say I do not have the rights to reopen them?

I was helped out by Famine and given 2nd post in thread to organise my garage. Looks like I have lost that the 2nd post, Plus some BB code is no longer functioning. Anchor and jumpto.
Now I know its an old thread and all that but just wondering if this is an issue for future post/threads we put together. :)
Hope that makes sense for a Mod to look over the issues. :D

Great update, good job Jordan and the team! :D The whole site looks much cleaner and prettier now. It's gonna take some time getting used to though. :lol:

One thing I noticed, the background of the posts are now white instead of light greyish like it was before. My eyes were straining for a bit when I first got on, but that's not really a huge problem. I can lower the brightness on my monitor.

Would there be an option to select a dark theme? The current theme seems to have gone fully to the light side as everything is so bright!

EDIT 1: So, users who we used to call friends are followers now? What is this Twitter?!! :lol: I've been trying to avoid it for a while now. Oh well, I guess it'll help me ease into new social media.

EDIT 2: Status messages? What is this Facebook?!! :lol:

I'm fairly confused but it is pretty slick. One problem for me is that typed text takes forever to show up on my phone like someone is typing for me.
 
Just noticed that your "location", if clicked, will be displayed with a pin on Google Maps. For those concerned, it's just the city, not your exact address, if you've listed it.
 
Great new look, faster & more legible on iOS, I'll miss the app but there's a lot of functionality with this. :)
 
Good work as always @Jordan ! Making it responsive is a really good step for GTP and it looks great, keep it up :)
 
@Jordan Does the site support animated avatars anymore? Or does the cdn convert them to jpg only for mobile platforms?

Probably more but that's all i've noticed so far. In the 2 mins i've been on.


I'll probably like it more over time, because visually it looks great!

I don't know if I am just missing it or it's not there, On the old site there was a feature where you could go to the first unread message without having to open the topic?

Now I see you have to open it first then go there.

Nope, seems not. Just tried with my old one and as you say, converted to JPG.

Just clicking the title takes you to first unread now.

Nice new forum. I have yet to try it on my phone but it's bound to be great.

I think it should have an option to 'Mark Forum Read' in each forum and not just on the forum home page. Or give us the ability to double click like the previous forum.

Also, and this is a minor thing, but couldn't the user posts number be put below the avatar?
 
Personally I've always found post count to be irrelevant info to display on each post in a forum.
 
Drafts feature is very nifty, even though the FF plugin I use to recover text does the job well enough. Live updates for things like thread posts or avatar changes are pretty cool. Fewer cases of members getting tree'd maybe?

I'm not fussed about changing "friends" to "followers", or that posting on your own profile's VM board is now "update your status". While I'll get used to it soon enough, I miss being able to see post counts directly below avatars without having to click on profiles for some reason. Every username being the same colour and making all avatars 120x120 makes it a bit harder to tell premos and non-premos apart at times too. If it was possible to hide the badge, it would be much harder.

I honestly didn't think "likes" would be added after what was said about similar features being used here in the past. And I can see myself accidentally hitting that button instead of "reply" in the future. :/

I'm sure once some minor bugs are ironed out, it'll be great. It's gonna take quite some getting used to since I was on GTP11 so often in the past couple of years.
