Drafts feature is very nifty, even though the FF plugin I use to recover text does the job well enough. Live updates for things like thread posts or avatar changes are pretty cool. Fewer cases of members getting tree'd maybe?

I'm not fussed about changing "friends" to "followers", or that posting on your own profile's VM board is now "update your status". While I'll get used to it soon enough, I miss being able to see post counts directly below avatars without having to click on profiles for some reason. Every username being the same colour and making all avatars 120x120 makes it a bit harder to tell premos and non-premos apart at times too. If it was possible to hide the badge, it would be much harder.

I honestly didn't think "likes" would be added after what was said about similar features being used here in the past. And I can see myself accidentally hitting that button instead of "reply" in the future. :/

I'm sure once some minor bugs are ironed out, it'll be great. It's gonna take quite some getting used to since I was on GTP11 so often in the past couple of years.
I think it was only rep that was abused in the past since people were able to -rep someone they didn't like, and people would +rep each other continuously. The 'like' button could be said to replace all of the +1, Agreed. and This. posts that are made by a lot of members on here.

I get the feeling members here would at least be more sensible with it nowadays. I'm not sure if it was said that a feature like this would return one day. I really wasn't expecting it to. But now we have our answer.

And who's to say those "members" won't keep "+1" posting even with the 'like' button? :p

I was wondering if there is any way to recover the signature from gtp11?

I had a bunch of info in there that I can't access anymore so it would be nice if the information could be recovered from the old gtp signature.

Have we got a option to change the colour of the theme to something darker? its too bright for me, even with low brightness level selected on monitor
No, not currently. This is the only theme for now.

It's a small thing but you can no longer see a full forum member list beyond the top 20 members (gtplanet.net/forum/members/). So you can't for example sort all members by post number which used to be an interesting thing to see for time to time.

Some of us knew they'd be wiped clean after Jordan announced it in this section a couple of weeks ago. So we took the opportunity to copy our old sigs and paste them back after the update.

I don't think there is a way for them to be recovered any other way though. Sorry. :/

loving the new layout, much more mobile friendly.

GTPlanet looks a lot more modernized. It will take some time to adapt, but we should be fine soon. GTP12 has just come out, I'm sure Jordan has many plans for its future.

Not entirely sure how to shorten URL links with the new site. And... typing text feels as if there's a bit of an input delay.

Is there any way to stop conversations notifications from popping up in my email?

I don't want to have to mark anything from GTP as spam in case it's important.

Edit: Isn't it supposed to tell you if someone replies when you are still typing? Because it didn't just now.

Hover over your name in the top right of the page and go to "Contact Details". Then un-tick "Receive email when a new conversation message is received".

In your recent activity feed its showing every amendment you have made including ones which are to do with your personal profile. I haven't tried seeing if more personal changes also show up but is it really necessary for it to log those changes and publically display them in such detail?

Noticed the link to submit news stories can't be found?

Also, at the bottom of the news sections there's a little button for the GTP App which is no longer, might want to remove. :)

Hmm, yeah, I'll have to add that link back, thanks. The App link actually takes you to http://gtplanet.net/app, where you can install the web app shortcut on your home screen.

I deleted the old app...anyway I can still get that shortcut on iOS?

Although I only signed up a few days ago, I'd been lurking the old GTP and this is faaar better. Thanks for the hard work Jordan, keep it up!

It was, but from my understanding of the software platform, that decision was made to ease server loads and minimize spam. I believe it can be changed to mimic the old approach if Jordan desires, though.

It was announced some time ago that the old app would be phased out; it stopped working completely when GTP12 came online. So no :)

I know...but damn. Was hoping I wouldn't have to keep typing in GTPlanet when I wanted to get on from mobile.

@Slashfan Hmm, you shouldn't have to; check www.gtplanet.net/app with Safari, and it'll give you the option to set a home screen app button for GTP. I've done that for now; the only drawback being I can't seem to find a way to make it always open in Chrome.

Awesome work Jordan and all others involved. The new site is awesome. It will take a little bit of playing around and getting used to the changes, but it will come.

Here's to you guys ....

I was going to give you a "cheers", but there are no smileys ? *imaginary cheers to Jordan and all the staff*

Thanks for the work and effort put forth.

I was just thinking this. I liked being able to check my position in the posting race. :p

The new GTplanet seemed very strange at first as expected but wow, really get used to it and starting to really like it. For example, having a friends list is actually useful now and make a visit to the site much more interesting. Liking it! Mobile part of it works great on my S3 too. Easy to get around and fast to load.

Not sure what to think yet, feels very 'open' (where are the borders o.o ?). But I'll give it a try, maybe once GT6 is out and fully functional (i.e. patched to hell) it'll feel more natural. But currently it's very fresh and intriguing!

One positive from me, it was a good excuse to find a new avatar , to replace my ... 3 year old one -_-

BEHOLD THY SLAIN SUPRA!, MAY IT FOREVER REST IN VIRTUAL PEACE!!!

Fantastic job with the new site Jordan. I got used to the format pretty quickly (probably because I was browsing GTP for 45 minutes straight during lunch time at school lol). Though it does feel more like a social networking site more than it was before. I'm not a fan of those kinds of sites, which is why I don't have an account on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc, but this is GTPlanet, and I have to say, it works extremely well on here. Big thumbs up to you and all the staff.

Cheers.
