Gran Turismo 4, at it's release with a ps2.
I really hated gt4, because you had to break.
but then, I felt in love with that game...
same with gt5 and i became a "car freak", as my friends called me like that...

I LOVE YOU PD!!!

Gran Turismo 2, but I was just a kid so I just remember racing the Suzuki Escudo at the Super Speedway. :dopey: I started playing seriously with GT4 about 5 years ago. Than I bought GT3, after that GTConcept and now GT5. :D

I remember going from Sega Rally to Gran Turismo and being in awe at how realistic GT looked and the amount of cars and detail was so far advanced for its time never mind the game play.

No other car game has come close to GT why i have had e every one on day of release and got GT5 Signature edition and will do the same for GT6.

I cant remember all the cars i used but some of the one's i used to try and get

Toyota Supra
Tom's Castrol Supra
Toyota One Race Car

First one I played was GT2, in the Spring of 2000. Started with the Honda CRX in Torino Red Pearl.

Edit: Though I remember dozens of hours being put into the Pizza Hut demo in the fall of 1999.

GT1 on a demo disc of some sort, I assume one from the official playstation magazine.

I just remember it was on SSR5 and you had a time limit. I want to say the Impreza STI in creamy yellow was a drivable car?

I got the GT2 Rome demo around the same time, either November or December 1999. I believe it was from issue 53 the Official UK Playstation Magazine (I can't find the disc or the mag). So that would be my very first taste of the GT series.

Dad bought a copy on GT1 from a work friend a month or 2 later. All I played for the first few weeks was Arcade Mode, with the first car I went for being either the RX-7 (the Mazda garage was the first one I visited), or Corvette Stingray.

GT3 was my first in 2002, my first car in that one was one of the early Mazda MX-5

I Got GT4 as a gift from my mother for doing my exams in College and my first car in that game was a Nissan Skyline '91

I got GT Concept and Prologue (GT4 and GT5), I got GT5 Signature Edition (for £130!), ive still got all the stuff that came with it and i cant remember what my first car was but i did have all the Chromeline and Stealth cars so it could have been one of those!..

..Gran Turismo is the reason im really in to cars and Motorsport..Thank you PD, keep up the great work and hears to another 15 years!!👍

Got GT4 at Christmas, loved it, first car I drove was a green Seat Ibiza in Arcade mode, then I bought an old Civic in Sim mode.
Then, MUCH later I got GT5, and then I got GT2 & GT1. I'm planing to buy GT3 and GT4 Prologue. :)

I think GT3 was my first, round a friends house in 2006 or so. Then I bought GT4 almost straight away, and played that game for around 3 years or so, before GT5:P came out.

First car, I'm afraid I have no idea. But whatever it was left a good impression of the game.

The Thaiti track was first seen in GT2, not G1. Although the Demio was available on both games.
I won mine as a prize car. With a new clutch and a turbo, that little rocket made my progress fast as lighting! :dopey:

Sorry pal! :gulp:.

Yeah I got a bit messed up, it was test course I remembered. Although I remembered doing it in a dodge concept car, I think it was a copperhead concept? Not sure.

Gah
This game was waited for with the PlayStation Demo Discs. Graphics looked so much better than what had been about, physics were obviously not that hot, but were not "canned" like some games - Not quite as Arcadey.

First Car - a Naturally Aspirated Mitsubishi GTO 1992 - Fuji Blue - (The colour was a French Blue shade) - Bit of a truck of a car. But it did the business back in 1997.

GT2 - FF Toyota Celica
GT3 - did not buy
GT4 - Forgot! - I tried out a Hommel at the Ring in Arcade when I first started the game.
GT5 - Civic SiR-II (Feel the V-TEC POWAH!)

15 years - ouch

Edit

GT4 - Lancer Evolution II in Silver

Started initially with Gran Turismo 3. My parents even bought me a wheel.

But, being about 8 or 9, I didn't have any driving experience, obviously, and so it was hard for me to get in to driving games. Plus, I just had issues with GT3. I was always complaining about how hard it was to see everything, especially in cockpit view. I didn't play for very long.

When I did play racing games over the next few years, they always felt too easy for me. Couldn't find a challenge in games like Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit 2 and all the predessors/successors.

It's hard to remember when I started renewing my interest in cars and racing games, but it was all within probably the last 3-4 years. One of the games I really got in to before my rebirth with GT when I got GT5, was Wipeout HD. Really, really loved that game. Had so much to offer. Had a great challenge to it and had plenty of races.

GT3 with a silver PT Cruiser. I can't tell you the amount of time, I spent trying to get that car competitive.

I ended up deleting that save file and started over again with a white MX-5.

Oh, don't get me started on that; that was a time of (relative) craziness on the old GT.com boards, when word started getting out about GT2's first demo being available through that of all things. I definitely begged my parents to get Pizza Hut that night, and even requested the proper demo disc from the cashier (I believe there were a few different ones).

It wouldn't happen to have been the Underground Jampacks, was it? That was on SSR5 or Clubman (or even both), and had an (R) Mod STI as an option.

GT demo with the Subaru WRC on SSR5 (could have been the clubman course) was my first GT experience.
(In response to the above post, which is on about the same demo, it is Demo disc One, which came with PlayStation Magazine and I believe was packaged with some PlayStations)

My first proper experience though was in GT2 with a Black Mazda RX7 Savannah bought from the UCD on Tahiti Road with Stereophonics Bartender and the thief on the bgm. :-D

My first gran turismo was gt4.then it was gt5 prologue,gt psp and gt5.my first car I had in gt5 was Mazda minivan.in gt psp,it was a Mini Cooper.the other games,I'm not sure.

It all started out with the Gran Turismo 1. Have played them all (GT1, GT2, GT3, GT4(P), GT5), but a couple years back, I traded in my copies of the GT1-GT4. Stupidest thing i've ever done (gaming related).

I honestly cannot remember what my first cars was. Probably something common.

Yeah. Just pulled both of them out to check. The one with GT2 had Spyro 2 and Sled Storm (and The Next Tetris and Tomb Raider IV), whereas the other one had Ape Escape, CTR and the first Tony Hawk Pro Skater (and FFVIII and Cool Boarders 4).

Awesome time, then.

I don't think it was Demo 1, I pulled that out of a box of stuff a few months ago and It didn't have GT on it, Rage Racer was though.

It wasn't the Jampack either I don't think, I don't recall that name. I guess all of the various demo discs of GT1 must have been the same though, clubman stage with a time limit in Impreza level cars.

Actually just went on eBay and I'm pretty certain it was this disc:

Gran Turismo (1) first try at my cousins house on a chipped PS1 running a japanese version, couldn't read a damn thing except car brands. I believe I ran several laps on an NSX and then gave the Viper a try.

My first car on my own GT. - Man is that long times ago... I think it was a Mazda Demio, possibly.

If I recall right I used the Demio as long as I could and only when I wasn't able to win the next race with the tuned-out Demio, switched to a 80's Supra Twin T

First post. In the words of James May, hello!

demo_one_1.jpg

I think it was Christmas, 2000, and today the only game I remember from that demo is Gran Turismo. Says it all.

Gt2:'92? Mazda Rx-7 infini V-used 2nd '67 Chevrolet Corvette 427
Gt3:'89 Mazda Miata mx-5-used
Gt4:'92 Mitsubishi lancer Evolution GSR -used
GT5P:'95 Suzuki Cappuccino

My first GT game was GT1 . i was 7 years old , my older cousin picked me up one weekend to try out this new game he bought called Gran Turismo , it was also my first time ever hearing about the Playstaion , i was still playing my Sega Saturn and Genesis at that time. anyway , it only took a couple mins and before i knew it , i was addicted . . . the very next day i begged my parents to get me a Playstion , a memory card and Gran Turismo. The number of hours i've logged playing GT and GT 2 ( when it eventually came out ) is mind boggling to me .

Life was so simple back then , i miss it.

GT1 & GT2 : MKIII Supra ( both in white )
GT3 : a (NA) MX-5 ..i think
GT4 : i beleive it was an AE86
GT5 : SiR Civic

Started off with GT1 when I was 12 or 13, I can't remember, wasn't my 1st PSOne game though...

Got the game by accident, I wanted another racing game (I can't remember the name of that game right now), got GT1 instead because they didn't have it at that moment...

And well... The rest is history :)

Started playing at the beginning. (GT)
Started with an FTO and tried to do so every itteration.
