I remember messing around on GT1 when I was like 3 or 4 years old. I don't remember my first car though.
Though I remember dozens of hours being put into the Pizza Hut demo in the fall of 1999.
The Thaiti track was first seen in GT2, not G1. Although the Demio was available on both games.
I won mine as a prize car. With a new clutch and a turbo, that little rocket made my progress fast as lighting!![]()
Edit: Though I remember dozens of hours being put into the Pizza Hut demo in the fall of 1999.
GT1 on a demo disc of some sort, I assume one from the official playstation magazine.
I just remember it was on SSR5 and you had a time limit. I want to say the Impreza STI in creamy yellow was a drivable car?
Oh, don't get me started on that; that was a time of (relative) craziness on the old GT.com boards, when word started getting out about GT2's first demo being available through that of all things. I definitely begged my parents to get Pizza Hut that night, and even requested the proper demo disc from the cashier (I believe there were a few different ones).
GT demo with the Subaru WRC on SSR5 (could have been the clubman course) was my first GT experience.
(In response to the above post, which is on about the same demo, it is Demo disc One, which came with PlayStation Magazine and I believe was packaged with some PlayStations)
