Woah...

My dad's workplace has 1,000 Mbps up and down. I can't imagine that being cheap.
This is a copy/paste from my speed test from a few years ago. I'll try to remember to redo it tomorrow to at least get it more current.

My question is why doesn't the average consumer get it? I know I could certainly use those speeds for gaming.

In this area there's coaxial 1gb down/750mb up is $200USD a month and then fiber is 2gb up/down is $300 (plus a 1 time $1500 install for fiber), but that's northeastern US where we still have decent internet prices. It's $80 for my 200mb connection.

After replacing the wifi card in the laptop.

At least 100Mb more than before.

Aaaaaaand the phone goes to the max. Just as fast as the wired connections.

IDNET - we pay around £35 per month for this horrid connection.

My 4G connection via 3 is much faster.

After putting up with TPG and their useless modem, I decided to change ISPs.

I went onto a 25mpbs(3MB/s)/5mbps(625KB/s), 500GB plan.

Still on Virgin, technically it's 150Mb down/10-20Mb up but I've seen it hit 240Mb down during off peak hours. It's pretty nice and I crack up whenever I get approached in the street by a Talk Talk/Sky/BT salesperson pitching 20Mb down as super fast, if they can even hit those speeds since the phone line based services were pretty unreliable and inconsistent.

I'm on the verge of moving home and buying my own place. Virgin 100Mb is the service I'm looking at possibly even the 200 or 300Mb. On paper they seem the best value for speed provider. I wont however be taking up the TV packages as I don't watch enough TV to justify the cost.

The apartment complex I live at will be getting AT&T fiber optic sometime in the next couple of months. They've already wired all of our apartments and the infrastructure has been buried. Just waiting to flip the switch. Right now I've got about 60mb service through WOW.

I have for 100/40 and am on fibre to the premise. Can get faster but no need really. Below test on Wifi and not close to router.

Google Fiber is coming to Louisville and I'm about 30 minutes outside of Louisville so I hope it makes its way to me. Although I can't complain about my current ISP, they've been nothing but good to me.
