Finally got my second win today, it's been almost since this time last season I got my first!

Racing the Spec Racer Ford at Laguna, this was the first track that I raced the car on last season, so I finally didnt have to learn the track, and could just focus on being fast.

I started P2, and had a clean start to slot into second. I pressured the leader until lap 7, when he made a slight error coming out of the 2nd last corner, allowing me to sneak through. I built up a few seconds lead, and we basically traded fast lap times for the rest of the race. My lead was never bigger than 4 seconds, but I held on to win, with no incidents too!

Congrats on the win. Even bigger congrats on going incident free at Laguna, that's no easy task 👍

I also had a race in the Spec Racing Ford at Laguna. Only started driving it yesterday, but it's lots of fun and creates a lot more overtaking than the MX-5, or maybe it's the track. But anyway I just missed out on qualifying, so started 11th. Finished 2nd after some nice racing and overtaking. 👍 I'd get a video up if I had more than a free trial of FRAPS. :p

Had an interesting race in the Mustang Challenge today. Started 4th and jumped up to 3rd right away. I was battling for 2nd for a few laps and eventually got by, caught he leader and we passed each other constantly, so that was a lot of fun. However he kept tapping me for some reason and eventually knocked my toe out, I still managed to keep pace with a slightly damaged car but fell back to 3rd with 3 laps remaining and finished there. I'm mixed, one one hand it was a fun race and I was able to keep pace with and even pass 2 fast drivers (I knocked 2 seconds off my previous best race time) and on the other hand I had a shot at the win I think if my car didn't get the damage that it did.

A weird race today at Lime Rock in the inracingnews challenge.

A maximum of 20 cars on the grid, whit strong drivers. And some other drivers i did not know. they seemed to be very fast. When i usualy start from 2nd-4th position i had to start on the 9th place. A Clean start at the top and middle of the field. But after some corners there was a unlucky race incident involved between some cars infront. It triggered a massive crash whit almost all cars involved. If you see that infront of you and you are in the middle of the field on a narrow track, your heart intend to...stop. Somehow i managed to avoid all cars except the last one. But i didn't felt any contact, it was like i drive right trough him. Very weird. It made me 3rd, but in the same lap i did take 2nd position on the main straight. so in just one lap from 9th to 2nd. That never happent before. Throughout the race i had a small battle for 2nd place and i kept it untill the end.

In Iracing i have seen very often cars go right through eachother or get thrown away into the air after a small contact. thats not good.

I had my first C-Class road race in the fixed IndyCar series.

I started 2nd (only me and the guy on Pole qualified) and my goal was a incident-free race with constant laps. So I lost a lot of position after the start and kept 7th place. Some opponents crased here and there so I moved up to 4th. Lost 3 positions, when 5th and 6th crashes again. So I finished 5th with visual contact to the 4th. Top 3 have been out of range.

I gained .21 SR with only a single "off track" (x1).

I am not yet in a position to fight for positions, because I feel comfortable only on the racing line. So I gave a lot of room, if someone was directly behind me.

But I love that car and Spa as well! Looking forward to more IndyCar races. Only difficulty is to find a official race during my available free-time (GMT +1). This was the first one since week 5 has started.

I hope for further improvement and will join the B-Class IndyCar series as soon as I get promoted. This is, what I was looking for :-)

I haven't had much luck at Atlanta in fixed trucks either wrecks or my own mistakes.
Last race I was in was pretty good for me. I started 7th I think and was up to 5th with in lap or 2 after the front few were gone. We ran about 10 good laps with passing between a few of us til caution came out. Everyone got tires except the front 2 which put me in 5. We passed 2nd and battled for few laps til someone made a mistake again behind us. The leader needed tires and so did few others but I stayed out to take the lead with 28 to go and knew it would be tough as I wasn't the fastest usually. I had to be careful to not spin or burn up right rear so I got good jump on start but 2nd almost passed me coming into 3. I basically started making better laps and they were fast but would pass each other as making mistakes. I pretty much on last 20 laps ran 30.6 and the truck was super stable the whole last run til caution with 2 to go came out. It was nice to win and know how stable the setup gets after being loose at first

Good stuff man! I really like the Indy Car, but the latest update made the fixed setups terrible! I can't drive the thing consistently!

Thanks a lot!

Yes, it has a massive understeer. I would like to adjust the setting.

I am looking forward to focus on a single class next season. (IndyCar B-class, open setup)

I'll probably see you around then, I'm planning on running some races in IndyCar next season as my second series. I will be running more Road circuits than Oval, however I will be running the Indianapolis Oval race as well as the road race.

Great :-)

Indy Oval is a "must have" for me as well. I will mix oval and road, but not yet decided the balance between them.

Just raced street stock at Charlotte, and I was in the top split. Ran around 8th most of the race and dodged a wreck in front of me which put me 4th, 1 second off 3rd and 6 seconds off 1st and 2nd. The leaders then wrecked on lap 18 and I snuck through to the lead and held on for the win. SOF was about 1900 (high for SS) which gave me enough points to be leading overall! Stoked!

Indycar at Spa this evening. Large grid (18 cars), I started 13th. Nice fight in the chicane after Eau Rouge with a guy. We gave each other enogh room to survive. At the end of the (first) lap aiming for the bus stop chicane, the same guy crashed into my rear. Too heavy damage, my race was over. No hard feelings, as we sorted it out like sportsmen.

That my race was over is nothing but realistic (although I enjoyed the gratis repair in rookie and D-class) so I don't complain.

But why -0.07 SR and 4 INC ??? :-(

The bus stop don't exist anymore its now "chicane".

Anyway here is an example of the way the SR works, atleast how i think it works.

For a x-number of corners, let say 1000 corners for example does count for your SR. So 1000 last corners get counted. in the the first 50 corners of those 1000 you got 1 INC. point recieved
When you have driven your last race 50 corners, the first 50 corners of your last 1000 corners get dropped. So 1 inc-point got dropped but 4 point are added.
So you have a SR drop.

If you had a extreme amount incident points recieved a while ago let say 20points and they drop, you had won SR.

If Your license is low you have made alot of mistakes. But you gain more easly becaus its more likely INC-points are dropped.

If you make almost no mistakes there is notting to drop and a few inc-points can drop your SR very fast.

Like me i had a rating on my A licence of 4.60+ becaus i had alot of clean races. But one race i got hit 3 times. so i had 12 incident points and dropped -0.96 or somthing on my license.

If you do longer races you can make more mistakes then in a short race. becaus you take more corners.
if you have 8inc. after 2 laps and you quit. it can hurt you very much.

My last race was insane...:banghead::scared:

Full grid on at the Grand AM starting at 9th place. I was running fine but after some laps i had to pass 2-5 cars each lap. I had to avoid unavoidable incidents constantly.

-I was in the middle of the Corkcrew chicane when a car decide to spin. i slam my brakes and i completely come to a hold a inch before the road block.
-A bit later i was at full speed running uphill towards the corkscrew and right before the top i had to lap a Mustang. but he changed lane just before my pass. I had to steer hard to avoid him. I lost control in the braking zone of the corkscrew. Call it skill or luck but i could find the control back of my car just before the sandbox. I lost again a place but was just happy i survived that.
- a bit later a road block of 2 Mustang in battle, 2 lapped DP's, and 2 fighting DP's all side by side in the corners after the corscrew. yes it is possible! i wisely yielded and it cost me some places.
- after 29 laps of avoiding cars every lap ,which could end my race for 35 times. I somehow still kept my 4 wheels on the black stuff and made no contact untill my luck ran out, there is again a traffic jam in turn 10 which cars spinning. I yielded but not enough. I crahed into a car and whit damage i had to complete 10 laps.

Really, It was FUN and frustrating at the same time.

At Mid-ohio Mustangs always kept there lane, on Laguna almost nobody does. I don't know why. It could avoid many incidents today.

Wooohoo!! Got my first ever win! :D:D In the Nvidia cup at Okayama short

Was a great race too! Started 7th out of 11 and was up to 5th by the second lap. Got into 4th the next lap and had a good battle with 3rd although it was letting the leaders pull a slight gap. After some laps I made my move on the exit of turn one getting a really good run into 2. The leaders had about a 4s gap so I just set about doing consistent laps as they battled and managed to catch them by about lap 14 or 15 of the 25 laps. All 3 of us were nose to tail, they swapped the lead a few times but I never had a good enough run to capitalise. Then a few laps later they went side by side into 1 and collected each other. I scooted on by for an easy victory :D Not bad for my 5th ever iRacing race! Loving it right now!

Thanks man. I know this is probably a stupid question but how do I qualify for these races?? I havent done a qualifying session yet (although its probably good thing with these first lap incidents)

A lot of winners today, congrats dusty. Yeah, I gave you a nickname. :p

Qualifying is simple: there's a session for it. At the "Race Now" menu, when you see Race/Qual/TT/Pract, hit "Qual." Then, a number of sessions will come up.

Yesterday I filed my first protest, after a guy was "brake-testing" me under acceleration on the exit of turn 1 at Laguna Seca (MX-5). The contact was only very slightly but gave me a "4x". 👎

No further action by the stewards as they can not say for sure, that it was intentionally.

On the same time I received this mail, I received a second mail informing me, that a protest against me has been filed. But no information about which race, which opponet or which incident is affected. Is it normal that you get only the "case-ID" and nothing more?

I have no clue what could be the problem at this moment...

Finally had a clean race in the Star Mazda at Suzuka. Last 2 races have seen me caught behind people who struggle with their car and always seem to spin right in front of me. I guess I'm getting better at avoiding them. You can see it coming , the way they are driving , it's just a matter of when it will happen and if you can avoid them.

Anyway , finally got some decent points for this round. As much as I love this car and track combo , that will do me for this week. SR has taken a beating lately.

Grand AM race 3 Road America: started 5th. After a few laps i "fell asleep" when we had alot of traffic (Mustangs). I got bit suprised by a mustang in the braking zone of the back straight. and did go wide in the 90°turn when coming back on circuit the same mustang was going a bit in oversteer infront of me when i wanted to pass on the outside, the gap closed and to avoid the mustang i changed lane instead. So i made contact whit the DP on my left. A bad judgement call from my part. Its my first contact(when i am to blame) since...maybe months, but i felt bad for what happent and it got stuck in my head for the next 2 laps. I only lost 2 place and another 2 places after it and ended 9th.

I don't race ovals, but yesterday found Carburetor Cup.
What a blast, learning how to race in a pack, and not have to worry about SR or I Rating :) Took me 4 tries, but I finally finished one this morning.
Ran A Grand Touring race yesterday, running in 3rd, on the end of lap one,
got taken out by a Jetta. Same guy took out a few others allowing me to catch
up. Finished 5.

I managed to grab a "messy" win above rookie class in the Skip Barber series at Suzuka.

The guy in first and I were battling hard for the last three laps. On the last lap he was not defending at all so I took a chance and made a pass at the hairpin. He did not expect me to try and pass him and he turned into me. I managed to come out ahead and finish the race for the win.

He said I should not have passed him and let him win. I told him he needs to defend better, particularly on the last lap, to avoid others trying to pass him. We ended the event on respectable, if not friendly, terms.
:)

another crappy moment. every day i lose +100 irating points becaus my steering wheel has its moments of failing. The next day i enter my race i hear 2 scratch sounds in my headset a moment later my screen freezes. i need to quit the sim. but when i try to get back on the members page it won't load. tried a few times, then i restarted my pc, still no members page. then i took out my headset and i could join again, pretty weird. ofcourse the race is started whitout me. Its gonna be a bad christmass. I love computers but they don't love me. If the world doesn't end whitin 3 days i reconsider to find a new hobby. :indiff:

Ah, so that's you excuse :)
The race that I was in with you, I had terrible problems with the Mustangs.
Caught them in the worst spots, and pretty much had the same guy give me fits trying to pass him every time. 👎
