I've just finished a race in the Spec Racer Ford at Charlotte Road Course, and it featured probably the greatest duel I've ever experienced in any racing game. It was a three-way duel for third place that lasted the whole race (15 laps), with only a couple of very minor bumps between us, and we all finished within a tenth of each other.

Unfortunately I ended up losing to both drivers. I was running in fourth approaching the driver ahead coming up to the finish line, but the driver behind had already pulled out to the right to pass me. There was no room on the left, so I had no choice but to back off which allowed the driver to the right of me to pip me at the line. :ouch: Oh, well.

My favorite times have been battling with people over a position. I dont mind a bump here and there, as long as the bump is clean and not malicious. At the end of the race it makes me wish that more people would race so cleanley. Then I get into the next race and taken out in the first lap. lol

Got boned big time yesterday in the 0030 Legends race.
Qualified @ 0005 , and ran almost the entire session.
Entered the 0030 race. My Q time did not show, and I was gridded 14th.
Should have been outside pole.
Worked my way through a lap 1 crash and was running in 10th when it was my turn to spin on lap 3
1 turn before the entrance to the oval. Held my breath as cars made their way around when a car got rear ended
into me. Had to pit for repairs, came out in 25th. Worked my way to an 8th place finish 1 lap down to the top 6.
What I though was going to be a major IR hit turned out to be +61 :)

Last lap battle for 5th from a few days ago at Laguna Seca in the legends car. I ended up in 5th. I'm so glad there is a dedicated legends road series now. They are so much fun.

Yay, I got a race in! 9th of 26 in the RUF C which isn't so bad starting from the pits. Keep it on the road facing the right way and you're guaranteed a top half finish it would seem. Only had one "incident" where a guy spun in front of me but didn't lock his brakes as he came to a stop. He was darting around so much I couldn't risk going around him and had to come to a full stop when he did, then go around.

The RUF is heaps of fun, what a splendid little car. Once you get dialed in it's such a joy to drive. I'm looking forward to driving it more, hopefully I can actually put in a full season. I might have to start actually qualifying and starting from the grid though, my iRating isn't going to get much above 2000 if I keep starting at the back.

Last couple races for me.

Saturday Night finally get promoted to "B" Road so I don't have to worry about keeping a 4.0+ SR for GT3 Challenge.!!! However for some reason (I know I lose SR for promotion), but went from a C 4.23, to B 2.8? Seemed weird but oh well. I thought it was just 1.0 you would lose.

Do a skip barber race at Summit Point, halfway through the races someone rear-ends me at Turn 1. He says "Brakes Locked up" Watched replay and see no evidence of him locking up, he just braked late and damaged my engine. I tow/fast repair finish the race with no other worries. BTW he gets by with minimal damage and can finish race without pitting. I would think you slam into the back of someone you'd have some damage on your car.

Oh well take a .01 SR hit for 6 incidents (all from getting hit). Do another race @ Skip Barber, clean racing no incidents.

Here come Sunday, and get a little bit of time to do a race, wanted to get in GT3, but missed registration by one minute. Oh well do a skip barber race(bout 3rd out of 6th split). 4 laps in, rear-ended on turn 1, same as before. Driver gets away with no damage and finishes race. No Sorry, my bad or anything out of the guy. Tow/Fast repair. Get back on track 2 laps later guy loses it at Turn 3, and takes me out. Once again he gets away freely, but was apologetic. Take another tow, and then wait for 6 minutes of required repairs. That finishes and I know my SR is screwed unless I put in some laps. Car is still un-driveable and have to quit the race.

Take a -.28 SR hit.!!!! Only got 7 laps recorded, and 8 incidents.

Good Times!

Had an amazing race in GT3, started 11th but worked my way up by others crashing and was 4th when a McLaren tried to put his nose in a corner he shouldn't have and spun me out but luckily i had very light contact with the wall and i spun her around and got going again fighting hard and caught 6th and 7th battling on the final lap and then 6th hit the wall and i got by him then down into forest elbow i got past the next guy on the inside around lapped traffic and defended down the straight and manged to keep it ahead through the chase and salvaged a decent finish.

Road Warrior round 2 at Bathurst in the MX5. Qualified 18th of 40 in the 2nd split (session 1) with a 2.40.1. Finished 8th. Dodged a lot of wrecks , had a few battles along the way. Bagged some points. That will do me until round 3 thanks :)

LOl, I was in that split. There were alot of wrecks but some really good racing upfront. I started 11th & had worked my way up nicely to 4th with 10 mins to go when........ My shifter mount broke going into the last corner & fell to the floor :(, It promptly shot me into the pitwall which destroyed my front end. 10 mins to go, 6 mins of repairs :banghead:(finished 22nd :().

I remember hearing that on the radio. Nothing worse than an actual mechanical to ruin your race !

Yeah it was a brutal race , so many people got caught up in the carnage. I had a LOT of luck in those early laps.

In my last WSCS at watkins we had one ruf driver that had no idea about multi class racing. This guy never held his racing line and managed to cut me off several times until finally he did it again and i had nowhere to go and he hit my front. I hate it when racers think that moving over for a faster class car is a good idea, its not, its dangerous.

I always do my latest races in weekend blocks, as I only get about 4-5 races in a weekend.

First Race, GT3 Challenge Enduro @ Silverstone.

I sucked bigtime. The race didn't split and I knew I would be a backmarker. Couldn't break into the 1:4x with the RUF, and everyone else seemed to pit for fuel differently. When I would do other enduro events on other games, I'd pit in the middle of the race, so I had never had to run with a heavier fuel load than needed. most everyone seemed to take full fuel at start.

Well ended up 10th out of 14th, starting dead last on first race. Off-tracks were killing me and ended up with 14x for the race, but still gained .11 SR.

Second Race, GT3 Challenge @ Silverstone

Was determined to get up to 3.0 SR, needed .13. This field did split twice, and I was in bottom split. Still couldn't break into 1:4x on lap times, but had even worse race. I started 18th out of 21st. After first lap disaster up front, ended up riding in the top 10 for about 5 laps. Now I know people coming up behind me were faster and I'm not an idiot at will let them by. I was probably passed 5 times by divebombs into the corners. I hate that crap. Seems that some people will have the mentality of "I'm faster than you so I'll pass you wherever I feel like." No wrecks happened but was infuriating. Did get spun around once, about lap 15, and before that I was doing a nice race with only 1 incident so far. Well after the spin I move up to 7x (4x contact, 2x lost control). Ended up driving worse after that, ending up with 15 incidents about 2/3rds of the way through. First time being so close to a DQ. Ended up finishing 14 out of 21.

Final race of the weekend. Skip barber at Watkins Glen Classic (no boot, no bus-stop)

Started 7th, and got up to 1st in about 6 laps in. Fought back and forth with the 2nd place for 12 laps or so. Setup my draft for last lap and went too wide on the carousel. Couldn't get back close enough to push for race win. Ended up 2nd only .324 behind leader. 1 incident that race, so I'm sitting at 2.90 on Class B.

My last race was actually my first one I won in Skip Barber Challenge! Yupee!

It started not so well, I was grided 9th since I dropped qualifying this week. Just after Eau Rouge/Blanchimont combination a weird thing happned - I was running inside, there was a guy on the outside (the tiny right hander before the long staight) about 0.2s, and second guy running also inside 0.6s in front of me which I was catching up. Suddenly, the guy on my left decided to go right, blocked me and lifted throttle at the same time... I tapped his back and lost my whole front wing. He got much worse, since it all happened so fast that I accidentally performed a PIT manouver on him - he spun in smoke into the side. Oh well, that's what you get when you make silly moves on the track, I guess...

Since then I have slowly climbed up the ladder and had been leading the pack since lap 5, finishing with 16s advanage. Hurray!

After doing Time Trials, I raced 2 Mazda cup races with little incident and got my D Road License...moving upward 👍
...and "little incident" I mean I got wrecked at the start/finish and had to limp all the way round the track to the pits for 3 lap repair and still managed an 8th place finish.

Qualifying to get in the top 6 and getting run off in turn ONE by the people banging in the back of the field is...well...🤬 ridiculous. irating going down faster than the Titanic!

You shouldn't worry about your irating yet, once you get to A or B then you really want to start building it up. And trust me the Ruf Cup races ive joined have been pure chaos at Montreal, turn 1 incidents like you wouldnt believe.

I had the best win in iRacing so far personally. Last night at Road Amrica in SRF Challenge, I qualified 1st in one of the races. Kept my position for three laps and then spun at 2nd corner (it seems to become my speciality...), which resulted in falling back to 3rd place. I fought hard for the rest of the race, and coming down to the very last corner of the race, I was 0.2 second behind the leader. I took the corner a bit better than he did, and using his draft on the uphill straight, I overtook him and won by just few inches. :D It felt great, the old saying to fight till the end is so true! I have to give the guy credit though, I bet it was tempting for him to block me for a moment, but he kept his line straight when he saw I made a move to start overtaking him.

Oh yes, it's almost like a Gentleman's Club. :D You come across a mixture of the same names, which is nice, there's a lot of talking through radio during the race, the only shame is that we cannot go for a beer after the racing's done. ;)

Was somewhat concerned about my iRating, because a lot wasn't my fault, but because of the No Fault...it is what it is.

Settled into the end of my first season making a pretty good comeback and being very competitive in the Mustang! I figured it out and with iSpeed running on a second monitor definitely helped me go faster and see where my on track problem corners are...Highly recommend this program. Good racing and racers with no turn 1 or 2 incidents this Friday and Saturday. It's good to qualify in front grid positions. Mid Ohio is a track that taught me some serious car control and racecraft.

Got RUF and started experimenting with that a little, started too late in season 1. The RUF hooks up, did a qualify early this morning with a best 1,24,xxx @motorsport.

Now a B License 4.48 road. I get to drive my Vette in traffic now! Bring on Season 2!

not a race but my second practice session...didnt end well lol (racing with a few mates, it was our first time online together)

Why 'O' why must people continue to race in the hairpin on Mosport...or any hairpin for that matter?! Where the 🤬 are you gonna go?!

My latest race: Practicing on COTA since Sunday for the GT3 week. Primarily using the Z4 and playing with the Mick. Best with the Z4 in practice 10:8xx, running smooth clean lines, pushing where I can get away with it and thinking that it was a decent time, that was until qualifying Monday with a best of 2:11:379 (track weather not as grippy) 1st on the board DIV 6? And then go look at other posted times i'm easily 5 seconds off qualifying times and practice! Realized the DFGT is slowing me down TOO much. It started with Mosport. I can hold my own in a race, top fives, can't threaten to win, but TT and Qualify are ass. Did more testing and the DFGT has got to go. Pedals and button shifter (I miss too many shifts at critical times) have limits and I've reached it. Adding Turgismo paddles and it's still a DFGT. Check out the Ole Amazon account wish list, boom, New G27 $228 free ship is on it's way.

i can get a 05.5 in qually trim and a low 6 with full fuel, The DFGT main downside i think is just the pedals with how soft they are, you dont have very much modulation because they are so easy to push down. I'd also recommend getting that GTeye brake spring or another variable rate spring for the brake since its still a little soft with the stock spring.

Progressive spring for the G27 I assume? Looked at a lot of mods for the G27 which arrives Thursday...I already have it tore apart and I don't even have it yet .
I'll say where the DFGT is working pretty well for me, Carb Cup this week and open testing. I run with the left hand guy's pretty good! And the NASCAR racers are way more fun to race with, just sayin' 👍. It's serious . but with mutual respect.

Don't like the G27 brake spring, TOO STIFF on the initial application, ordered a progressive.

Started in the pits in my latest GT3 challenge race at COTA. Finished 2nd, pretty happy, pitted around 25 minutes to go, splashed another 2.7 gallons of fuel in and took 4 tyres. Paid off in the end. Had the fastest lap of the race also at 2:06.663 and the fastest average.

Also finished with the fewest incidents (2), +81 iRating and +.82 SR to reach Class A!
