This week’s new Online Time Trial is a double debut. Gran Turismo 7 pairs the brand-new Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo with the equally fresh SUGO International Racing Course on Sports Soft tires.
Both arrived just this morning as part of Update 1.72, the first half of the Spec IV update. SUGO is the first new circuit added to the game’s Asia-Oceania region since launch, a single 2.23-mile layout, and this is the first Online Time Trial to be held there. The Xiaomi, meanwhile, was revealed at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona back in February and lands in Brand Central at the customary Vision GT price of 1,000,000cr.
This one is ruffling some feathers, though. The Ferrari F355 Berlinetta also arrived in 1.72, and it was expected (hoped) that would be the car to christen SUGO in the Time Trials. The Vision GT was already a divisive addition, and this event probably won’t win it many new fans. Having said that, it is the only option, so you may as well find out what it can do.

Online Racing Event
Prefer a bit of company to a lonely ghost lap?
The SNAIL Racing League puts on casual online races every week using the current Time Trial’s car and track, and anyone can join in. Head over to our forums for all the details!
Accessing Online Time Trials
You’ll find these events in Sport Mode, which opens up once you’ve finished Menu Book 9 (“Championship: Tokyo Highway Parade”) in the GT Cafe. Our full unlock guide is here if you need a hand, and no PlayStation Plus subscription is needed.
Once an event closes, rewards depend on how close you got to the top time. Gold goes to anyone within 3% (2,000,000cr), silver within 5% (1,000,000cr), and bronze within 10% (250,000cr).
A new event arrives every Thursday, each runs for two weeks, and the oldest drops off as the newest lands. The next new Online Time Trial comes on October 22.
