Gran Turismo 7 Update 1.69 is Coming on April 23: New Cars & Power Pack Updates

Normal service has somewhat been resumed with the confirmation of the latest content update for Gran Turismo 7 game update which arrives on Thursday April 23.

We already knew about the update courtesy of the regular teaser post over the weekend, but this month’s three-car offering is only the second to appear in the usual month-end slot since September 2025.

However it now seems we’re back into the traditional rhythm as Polyphony Digital continues to offer support for the game by way of new content well into its fifth year on sale.

Table of Contents

Gran Turismo 7 Update 1.69: New Cars

Series producer Kazunori Yamauchi went a little early with the car reveal this month, so we’ve already had a look under the covers. Nonetheless, we’ve got more precise information now, and the full list is as follows:

  • Porsche 911 (964) Turbo S Leichtbau 1993 – Legends Cars
  • Renault Twingo 1993 – Used Cars
  • Yangwang U9 2024 – Brand Central

It’s one of the widest ranges of car age and horsepower in a single update yet, with over 30 years between them and at least 1200hp separating the hyper-modern Yangwang EV from the more rustic Twingo.

At present we don’t know what the prices of the three cars will be, but we’re going to make a seven-figure estimate for the Leichtbau to correspond to the real-world value when one of the 86 cars do come available. Despite its prodigious speed, the U9 is only priced at the equivalent of $250,000 and we’d expect a similar number of GT-bucks. The Twingo is likely to be among the cheapest cars in the game.

All-in then, you won’t need too many credits to buy the full set — and after three successive updates with one there may be a new Circuit Experience to boost your balance quickly too, though we don’t have any information on that just yet.

Gran Turismo 7 Update 1.69: New Races & Events

Usually there’s a new event corresponding to each of the new cars, but only two of our three update heroes get a race this time round — though there are three new World Circuits races.

We’ve also got a first new Extra Menu Book in a while, and a surprise new feature in the Power Pack DLC. However we don’t see any mention of circuits with GT Sophy support at this point…

Gran Turismo 7 Update 1.69: New Races

We’ll need to wait until the patch notes to get a full picture of the new events, but the broad strokes are:

  • Hypercar Parade – Yas Marina
  • Schwarzwald League – Circuit Gilles Villeneuve
  • World Touring Car 900 – Interlagos

The first of those will likely feature the Yangwang U9 as an AI rival, with the Leichtbau slotting in for the second. Unless there’s some serious engine swapping going on for the Twingo we don’t reckon that’s going into the World Touring Car 900, so this one’s just a new and probably pretty lucrative race.

Gran Turismo 7 Update 1.69: Power Pack Challenges

This one is a little unexpected, and comes as a bonus for players on PS5 only who’ve also forked out for the paid DLC Power Pack. It looks like a mirror of the regular game’s Weekly Challenges, only as applied to the Power Pack events.

We’re going to need to see it in action, but for now it appears to operate in the same manner, giving you some events (three in the case of the Power Pack version) to complete during a one-week window for bonus rewards.

Gran Turismo 7 Update 1.69: Extra Menu 53 (Muscle Cars)

A new collection task will see you gathering together the classic Chevrolet Chevelle, Dodge Charger, and Pontiac GTO in your garage for an as-yet unspecified reward.

Gran Turismo 7 Update 1.69: Seasonal Menu

While there isn’t a confirmed new Seasonal Menu in the current data, this has been a staple since Spec III. You’ll likely need to collect the three new cars in the update, with a middling Five-Star Roulette Ticket as a reward. These are also time-limited challenges, so you’ll only have two to three weeks to earn the reward.

Gran Turismo 7 Update 1.69: Other Changes

We’ve got a return of some new Scapes shots in this month’s update after a recent absence, although this appears to be a new curation with some additional camera angle options rather than entirely new locations.

Dubbed “Move the Camera Up and Down III” (snappy), it’s a series of spots where there’s some vertical freedom to play around with and follows on from two earlier, similar curations.

Other than these, there’s always some things left to the imagination until the update itself arrives, which we’re expecting at 0600 UTC on Thursday April 23rd. That will include things like Engine swaps (any money on a Clio RS swap for the Twingo?), real car paints, and potentially a new Circuit Experience given three successive updates with one.

However we wouldn’t expect any new circuits at this point as they tend to be talked about much further in advance. New circuit layouts are a possibility though, especially as Yas Marina still only hosts one of a possible five routes in the game at present.

That means you’ll need to keep an eye on the site and the forums for all the latest as we get it.
