Jann Mardenborough may have just missed out on the All-Japan F3 Championship title earlier this year (as well as the GT300 class in Super GT last month), but we imagine this must make a pretty sweet consolation prize.

At the 2016 British Racing Drivers’ Club Awards earlier this week, the 2011 GT Academy champ was awarded the coveted Richard Seaman Trophy, given to the highest-placed gold star points scorer outside of F1. Mardenborough was in good company, with F1 drivers Lewis Hamilton, Nico Rosberg, and Daniel Ricciardo all receiving trophies.

brdc-2Porsche endurance Romain Dumas, Neel Jani, and Marc Lieb were also honoured, while John McGuinness received an honourary membership, becoming only the second motorcycle racer to do so. You can find the full list of recipients at the official BRDC website.

Jann first joined the British Racing Drivers’ Club back in the summer of 2014. While racing in Super GT wrapped up just last month, he won’t have much down time over the winter: he’s scheduled to join 2016 GT Academy winner Johnny Guindi, Ricardo Sanchez, and Romain Sarazin in an all-GT Academy team assault on the 2017 Dubai 24H endurance January 13–14.

Congratulations Jann!
