Thrustmaster Announces TX Servo Base, Build to Your Preference

Gaming news isn’t the only thing to come out of this year’s Gamescom as Thrustmaster have utilized the conference in Cologne, Germany to announce its TX Servo Base Racing Wheel, a standalone version of the acclaimed Xbox One TX Wheel. The wheel base will be available for the Xbox One and PC with the added benefit of being highly customizable within Thrustmaster’s ecosystem of products by way of a modular approach.

The core of a customized configuration:

“The TX Servo Base Racing Wheel is fully ecosystem-ready: players can select add-ons to obtain the ultimate racing wheel. A pedal set, such as the T3PA or T3PA-PRO three-pedal pedal set by Thrustmaster, will be required to experience the thrills of ultra-realistic racing sensations. And since a clutch pedal is designed to enable lightning-speed manual gear shifts, users can of course complete the TX Servo Base Racing Wheel with a gearbox, such as the TH8A. Lastly, to hone their equipment’s configuration according to their racing preference and the type of car and competition, users can opt for any of the currently available Thrustmaster wheels: the TM Leather 28 GT Wheel Add-On, the Ferrari F1 Wheel Add-On, the Ferrari GTE Wheel Add-On and the forthcoming 599XX EVO 30 Wheel Add-On Alcantara Edition!

The TX Servo Base Racing Wheel comprises a wheel base, an attachment system and a power cable suited to the geographical area.”

What’s more is the TX Servo Base Wheel can even be paired with pedals from Logitech which would make for an interesting combination of parts, to say the least. That isn’t all Thrustmaster announced at Gamescom as it also pulled the wraps off of the aforementioned steering wheel rim add-on that will be compatible with the Servo Base, the 599XX EVO 30 Wheel Alcantara Edition. An 8:10 scale replica officially licensed by Ferrari and manufactured under the same conditions as those used on Ferrari wheels in Alcantara® S.p.A’s factory.

Fitted with Thrustmaster’s Quick Release system, the 599XX EVO wheel will be compatible with all racing wheels that feature a detachable wheel rim. The TX Servo Base will go on sale later this month for $259.99, while the 599XX EVO 30 wheel will go on sale in Q4 2015 for $179.99.

    $259.99 for a servo thing
$179.99 for a replica steering wheel that can only be used like a freesbie without that servo thing

    that’s $439,98
that nice deal without considering gearbox and pedals

I know I said it before, but I have had horrible service with Thrustmaster and this does nothing for me. I’ll happily wait for the Logitech G29.

1 year and 30,000+ (Gt6) miles and had no problems with my T500 so far. Maybe you were just unlucky.
The G29 looks ok, but the pedals are no where near as good as TM’s.

Logitech is your trusted savior for bringing you an overpriced wheel that uses the same kind of hardware as the one they produced 5 years ago?

The G29 is just a G27 in a new package… Oh.. and you get to pay a bunch of extra money, and you get nothing in return. How nice of them…

The Logitech G29 suck. Rather get the G27 or something else, just never ever buy the G29.

This is a great design choice and direction, but what good is it if you don’t have compatibility with the PS4?

  5. TomBrady

That would be good because if I ever get an Failbox Done, it would be much better to only have to buy the base and just use my T300 pedals and wheel. It would also be a bit more convenient as well (swapping wheels is a huge pain in the ass IMO)

Glad I waited instead of buying the Thrustmaster TX Racing Wheel, great news that it’ll also be compatible with the G27 pedals.

Ive just done some reading up on the wheel, mainly on the official thrustaster pages. It would appear it is only compatible with stand alone USB pedals, but I do know there is an adapter on the market somewhere to make Logitech pedals work with the TX. This could be what is referenced in the article. If it is setup up to accept Logitech pedals on the base itself though, that would make it an extremely temping purchase.
