GTP Photomode Competitions: Week 43 Round-up!

Another week, another batch of outstanding photos from various members, involving various cars flying through (or sitting in) various locations. It’s all about variety, in case you didn’t guess. Even more so this week, with our Official competitions touching on history, the golden era of rally cars, a shiny new McLaren in Monaco, and even… promotional material?! But first off, this month’s main event: the Photomode Tournament.

Qualifier Winners (Clockwise from top-left):
ph1lmar (PMC), Wallbreaker (2.0), Revolution. (2.0)

Thanks to you, the GTPlanet community, the Qualifier rounds for both divisions went smoothly, and the 16 most-voted users from those multiple choice polls have advanced to this week’s knock-out style pairings. Qualifier winners Ph1lmar, Revolution., Wallbreaker, and the other 29 participants have all been given themes unique to their head-to-head match, and the polls are up for you to again vote for your favourites to advance to the next round. These polls aren’t quite as straight-forward as our typical weekly ones, so allow me to explain:

When you head to the PMC Round One thread, you’ll see a multiple choice poll, with Match banners, and the two related images below them. Select one image per match (make sure your check-box is the right one!), and then vote away! Once you’re done there, head on over to the 2.0 Round One thread and do the same. Hurry, there’s less than 24 hours left to these two! The winners of each bracket will advance just like any normal knockout tournament, so only 8 people will be left standing in each division by Friday!

Last Week’s Winner: Sam48

This Week’s Theme: Another first-time winner, Sam48 has provided a thoughtful, though fairly open-ended theme this week with History Lessons. It’s probably best if I let him explain:  “For this weeks theme, I want to see history recreated in GT. And not just automotive history, but any event in history that happened to have a car in it. Whether it be a memorable race at Lemans, a cool movie you might have seen, or even the invasion of Poland! If it had a car involved, you can recreate it.” Got it? Jump to the thread now!

This Week’s Poll: AWD took centre stage last week with Putting The Power Down. Twenty five entries now sit in a poll, all showcasing the benefits of all-paw traction, and it’s up to you to help pick the winner. Jump to the thread now!

Last Week’s Winner: chromatic9

This Week’s Theme: You saw this name last week, and with good reason: chromatic9’s on a roll, gobbling up wins almost as fast as the subjects of his provided theme did to forest roads – Retro Rally takes a look at the Golden Age of rallying, allowing any purpose-built Rally cars built before 1990. Will you represent the awe-inspiring Group B? What about an old Rally Raid Pajero, or Mitsubishi’s even older original Lancer rally car? You’ve gotta enter to win… Jump to the thread now!

This Week’s Poll: Last week’s H2H theme of City vs Country drives saw many more Country entries than City, but chromatic has done the heavy lifting for you, leaving just 8 images per side for you to select. Head here to vote for your favourite City entry, and when you’re done, vote for your favourite Country one too! Tomorrow evening the final poll will go live with the winners from each poll facing off for the overall win.

Last Week’s Winner: bmxmitch

This Week’s Theme: The Veyron that beat all other Veyrons… Mitch took the win last week, and his combo for this week’s CCCL (Certain Car, Certain Location)? McLaren’s technological tour-de-force MP4-12C at Monaco for McLovely In Monaco. Show off the new car’s lines while cruising the coastal streets! Jump to the thread now!

This Week’s Poll: TVR’s and country back roads make such a nice pairing in, well… It’s Such A Nice Day. The Tamora’s small enough to negotiate the winding tarmac of Mt. Aso, but when it gets down to it, which of these 20 images best captures the theme? Jump to the thread now!

Last Week’s Winner: CCShaft7

This Week’s Theme: A bit lighter on the manipulation than a few of the weeks previous, CCShaft7 has tasked the Photoshop-savvy out there with that stalwart of the design world: Brand Sponsorship. He’d like to see your GT5 car being used for a big non-automotive company’s promotional tie-in, and you can do that however you see fit. CCShaft explains it a bit better in the thread, so you know what I’m going to suggest… Jump to the thread now!

This Week’s Poll: Lemony Snicket had nothing on these entries in last week’s Unfortunate Circumstances theme. Instead of being deadly serious, members of the community had some fun with the theme, injecting some much-needed humour into GT with some creative mash-ups. Now it’s your turn to vote for your favourite, so take a look! Jump to the thread now!

All sound a bit complicated? Read this thread for an explanation on how to get your images off your PS3 and onto a computer, and read over the individual rules in each competition’s thread.
