Once again “Black Friday” is almost upon us, with retailers of all kinds offering some pretty tasty discounts on products and services.
The once-a-year event stems from Thanksgiving here in the USA, with customers heading to the shops after the mid-week break to get gifts for the upcoming end-of-year festivities. Many outlets get so much business in this one day that it can push the balance sheet for the entire year into the black, hence the name.
That said, everyone loves profit. As a result the event has spread far beyond the USA’s borders and broken out of its single-day traditions to encompass the entire weekend — and commonly the week before (and even further). Of course that’s great news for consumers, who don’t need to head out to shops or focus on a screen for a specific 24-hour period any more.
Xbox gamers, particularly in the USA, are well-served for discounts this Black Friday. There’s discounts ranging from 30-67% across a wide selection of over 900 games — and sometimes more — and expansion packs, season passes, and game upgrades.
For those of you based in the USA there’s also $50 off the Xbox Series S and a bundled Xbox Stereo Headset just to sweeten the deal. Some Xbox Wireless Controllers also see 30% discounts, and there’s a huge $200 saving on the rather pricey B&O Beoplay Portal headset (through the Microsoft store).
If you’re outside the USA, don’t worry. You’ll be able to find hardware discounts in specialist gaming and electronics stores instead.
