Five Things We’re Looking Forward to in Forza Horizon 4

The launch of Forza Horizon 4 is fast approaching. Early access for Ultimate Edition owners begins in just a matter of hours — it’sactually just started in the UK itself — and we’re excited to see the best of Playground Games’ new sandbox racer.

Following the release of the official demo, and our own in-depth FH4 review, we’ve narrowed down our most anticipated features. Be sure to share what you’re most excited about in the comments!

Our list is presented in no particular order:

Rule Britannia

Following on from Forza Horizon 3’s Australia was always going to be a tough ask for Playground Games. The United Kingdom provides an excellent backdrop for the Horizon Festival. From the streets of Edinburgh to the Northumberland coast and the Lake District, Britain will have plenty of beauty for players to explore.

Dynamic Seasons

Playground Games makes no bones about FH4’s biggest game changing feature. Dynamic seasons completely change how FH4 plays and how the in-game world evolves. One week, players may be blasting along the roads in Autumn, but the next week in Winter, lakes freeze over and new explorable routes open up. Every week will bring a new season and will certainly keep players on their toes.

Living the Horizon Life

Another exciting feature of FH4 will be the “Horizon Life”. In between all the standard races in-game, players will be able to do a variety of odd-jobs around the map. From being a movie stunt driver, to running a taxi service, there will be plenty of things to do to keep players busy.

Make Your Own Routes

Forza Horizon 3’s Blueprint feature laid a basic groundwork for players to create their own races. Now FH4 will allow players to create their own racing routes with the new Route Creator feature. Players will be able to create sizable courses around the map (up to 40 miles in length) with freedom to place checkpoints wherever they please. This is one feature that should really extend replayability for the community when it arrives on October 25.

A Shared World

One of the key aspects of online in FH4 will be the shared world in the game. With the player count being upped from 12 to 72, online sessions will become particularly busy. However, those worried about getting their fun ruined by trolls have no reason to fear, as players not on your friends list will be ghosted when coming into contact. Other shared aspects will include Forzathon Live events, where players will need to work together to achieve the event objectives.

Agree or disagree with our list? Be sure to leave a comment. Forza Horizon 4 early access begins on September 28; the full release worldwide is on October 2.
