Today marks a milestone in the series as we have hit the triple digits in pages here at GT Planet. Over these past nearly 8 months since the series started, we have seen some great racing take place, great discussions and great times both on and off the track!

As we wrap up Season 6 and get ready for season 7, I want to take this opportunity to thank all you guys who have made this series such a blast to race in. Its all of you that make this series what it is. You can have the best organized series on the planet (no pun intended) but if the racing is not top notch, it wont survive.

Here is to another great 100 pages and even more, here is to another 6 Seasons (minimum) of great racing!

Regards, Grim (James)

What about the NSX LM Race Car '91 and McLaren F1 GTR Race Car Base Model '95?

You know you have this series scheduled through to mid 2016 eh? I didn't think leaving was an option. 👍

Great work here Grim! Thanks!!!

Why were they not options for the MR Season?

It may seem easy to just "willy-nilly" the combos that get put up for votes however there are MANY contributing factors that I look at for each and every season and which cars are chosen. I look at what cars (HP, drivetrain, etc) we have run and plan to run in upcoming seasons. How do the tires and fuel settings work for the cars Im looking at. What tracks have we run and what tracks work with the cars. That said, since it seams I need to justify my selections to you, here it is
  • Season 6 - SLS - High Horsepower large car on mostly world tracks
  • Season 7 -
  • Season 8 - Currently slated for GT500 cars - Again high horse power on mostly world tracks
  • Season 9 - Currently slated for even higher horsepower cars
If I were to use the two you selected for season 7, that would be 4 seasons in a row with very little difference in HP and track selection. If you noticed the two that were selected for season 7 are lower HP cars on mostly original tracks. I try really hard to make sure there is variety in the seasons.

As for the Elise running on Sunday Snail, I don't have any control on what gets selected and what gets used on Sundays. It takes 3-4 weeks to do my testing and the Elise was already locked in for this season when it showed up on Sundays. At that point, it was too late to look at other options.

With all the constant questions about how I run the series from you specifically, I wonder why you haven't started your own series as you obviously have a better idea on how it should be run. I don't mind answering questions, but it just seems that I'm constantly having to justify myself to you with every decision that gets posted.. Nearly every major decision that gets updated here is discussed with those on the advisory panel to make sure its the direction we want the series to go. Your questions may seem innocent however its coming across in a different way for me.

I try really hard to answer any and all questions and I dont mind questions being asked but when the majority comes from one person, I have to wonder why. Sorry if this is sounding harsh but its getting old.

Yo, no justifying needed. I like discussing the inner workings of things. I enjoy explanations and the "how" of things.

I'm glad you do things the way you do. They are the reasons this series is so good and that we're able to start up a second series with little to no hiccups along the way. Maybe I just want to be part of the advisory panel, if that's not too much to ask.

There is no negativity in my points. I'm just a curious little bastard.

I know. I don't really have the time for it either. I'm just thinking along those lines of what makes things tick. 👍

Now that the above discussion is over, lets get back on topic shall we.

Did a rather simple mod to my dfgt, finally got my shifter in a more ideal spot and added lever length. Loving itView attachment 297497

I did the bungee cord mod to my DFGT, and added the RSF paddle shift upgrade and ended up really liking it over time.
Apart from the steering which seemed kind of jerky and rough.. Lets put it this way.. I like it, but hated it, liked it, hated it, etc, etc. It doesn't hurt to be reminded that you use one and drive very well with it.

I do love the buttons layout on the wheel though.

Yeah I'd like a g27 or something else eventually, but I hate using paddles I've always used the sequential, finally took the time of day to move it. As for the wheel feeling, it's all I've ever known besides the t500 at nationals, which IMO sucked, but was mostly probably due to the fact that the pods had the wheel at your stomach

I always thought it'd be cool to get a G27 pedals off Ebay and re wire it for the DFGT, and do the big brake pedal and GTeye spring set up.. I know for sure it's possible, but finding the pedals only now seems a bit harder than say 6 or 9 months ago. I used to see them all the time for 50 to 70 bucks.. Now they're asking a lot more when you see one.

edit: you actually have to re wire the DFGT, and do the clutch disconnect to the pedal.

That's nuts! I have the same seat an same wheel. Only I hate the sequential and unassigned it totally (only using paddles).
I also just got a G27 this week and can't put the pedals correctly to my liking yet. That pedal plate isn't made to fit the G27 pedals correctly. Will have a drilling/sawing/bolting project tomorrow hopefully to start using it. The brake pedal on that thing is insane compared to DFGT, i don't know how fast i'll be able to relearn. Might have to continue on DFGT for a while still...
PS. What are those red wires you have on the pedals?

They're not wires. I'm sure they are some super secret spy thingmebob. ;)

A super duper hard core 4inch bungy cord setup/rig up that I'd bet apply more pressure than your g27 pedals :p

Priceless video Joe, that old man Leland can be quite the hardaass. To think the entire episode started with a flat spot on the photo copier.

We don't sell the steak. We sell the sizzle! 👍

If anyone is interested, I'm going to run a full practice race around 1:00pm for RCS

1pm was a couple of hours ago?
Just went to lobby but no one there. I was in another room doing a practice run.
