I have good internet if you want me to try it, your call..

Keep getting dc'd trying to get in. Just reset my modem.

Waiting for you. hows it going>?

Reset modem but not hooking up yet. Start without me and I'll try make second race.

I thought problem was me originally so I reset modem and couldn't get internet back up. Finally got it now. Ready for race two. Sorry if I held up the start. Not going to do that again as I never have connection problems.
Bummed about missing race 1.

I know to fall to the back at the start.

Looks like I'm just not going to be able to make the transition over to the steering wheel..
If I had used the DS3 it would have been a lot better for me..Too hard for me to adjust to things that happen in front also.
If something happens in front it's really hard to avoid..

'tis not. :p Just have to be expecting things to happen in front of you and always be making your plan of attack up for when, not if, it does.

Don't you give up on that wheel. I swear, I'll send someone to yer place to snatch that DS3 'n smash it to bits so you can't fall back on it.

Tonight had some of the best racing I've ever experienced; thanks for the great racing guys. I want to give specific shout-outs to @McTrucker, who had insane consistency that created a 10+ lap battle for position, @brntguy (bent), who now is a podium contender thanks to the secret teachings of @vovik05, who seems to be Vettel-ing (of yore) to the top of the podium.

Replays are available at the SNAIL Race Car Series open drive.

Good racing tonight, I want to thank everyone for racing me clean 2nd race I know I was a road block, was cool to lead couple laps, finishing 6th second race felt like win for me.

Great stuff tonight guys. So much fun with the battles and keeping tires alive. Sucks that we had a DC in the qualifier but I hope you race next week @kendawg. Miss you on the track

Thanks GGG
Not sure what is going on. The last few RCS I've been DC'd. Very frustrating. Will keep trying. See ya on Sunday Night.

I'm very disappointed I missed this but work comes first and out of all the races we've had that was the first time I couldn't make a main event.

Same dude. And it was a track I really wanted to race at. Maybe we can have a mock race at Mid-Field just for fun?

That first race was a lot of fun. I ruined my momentum in the second though. I forgot to change cars between races. After the race I checked and I was down 19 horse power, oops I will have to leave a post it reminder on my forehead next time, lol.

It was still a great night though. Good racing guys

It takes time. Everyone who has made the transition has the same story, "it is frustrating". But you will get it. And you will never want to touch that controller again.

My only concern is negatively affecting the race for all of you somehow..Don't want that to happen..
Midfield seemed easy enough in practice, but the races were about the most intense in recent memory.
After the race there's no doubt it was too early to try and take that on with the wheel..
I have worked very hard on it though, and once the car control gets up to the same level as with the controller it will be better..I don't have car control issues with the DS3 and still lap quicker at some tracks..
I will continue to work on getting better with the wheel though..It's way more fun to drive with it, and I use it all the time when I practice.

You'll get there. And then using the controller will seem absolutely impossible.

So true. I am from the other side. I started my GT career with GT5 and a DFGT. Once in a while I will use the controller to drive around a track to get pictures of how a paint looks but that's about it. I try to drive fast with a controller and it's impossible. I don't know how there are fast guys in the top divisions using a controller.

Very proud of the effort that went into figuring out how to be fast with the DS3, and being able to keep up with some very fast people sometimes when the situation would allow that...
But I have way too much invested in my rig not to dedicate myself to it, and really haven't needed to fall back on the DS3 that much..I expect to be using it less in the future..

I started with gt 1 on ps1 and had no idea that there was even a wheel option until gt5  but even when I got the dfgt I didn't have a good setup and tried to use the wheel while sitting it on my lap. Needless to say that did not work and I ended up returning to ds3. 1 year ago in April I talked my wife into getting a Logitech g27 and set it up on my desk. After I started messing around with it I just couldn't get the hang of it. I did a lot of drifting with the ds3 in gt5 but I couldn't drive a straight line with this wheel to save my life. Accelerate, spin brake and repeat. What helped me was following some of those faster guys and just stealing their braking points or braking just a bit earlier then I found that if you brake early you can let off and gives you (very little at times) wiggle room.
Sorry I've gone into a rant. After I get done at work this morning if you want to hop on I'll run some laps with you. I'm using a new view with the new rig. In running cockpit view and I can't see $#!t:banghead: but it's all in good fun.

With all due respect that's about the dumbest thing I've ever read. We all understand what you're getting at but the same rings true if you were using a controller so same difference in Parcells mind. The wheel is more immersive and more fun so that's reason enough.

Reasonable chance I could be a bit stubborn (because I am) and of course these days I couldn't drive with a controller if my life depended on it but I would never ever go back to a controller ever (the extra ever was needed).

Bought my very first console when Forza 1 came out...about 2 weeks later bought my first wheel (crappy MS wheel) and haven't used a controller since except for about 4 years ago for a couple of laps just to prove a point to myself.

Now ponder this line of narcissistic thinking...Like you the last thing I ever want to do is ruin someone else's race but if I'm being honest I'm pretty sure I've never participated in a race for other people's enjoyment. Does that make Parcells a bad person?

Confirmed.

I learned how to use the wheel in GT5 as well. Spent a week realizing I could not start out "racing". So I did the license tests. A lot of those basic tests will teach you how to hold a line, smoothly accelerate etc. After a few weeks of that kind of stuff I started racing a little more.

The hardest license test to do while transitioning to a wheel is the slalom. If you can just pass it then you are ready to race :)

confirmed.

Ice has some good advice, the license tests. Many of us have been in your @euclid58 position and we have have all had the same learning curve. Frustration does rear its ugly head every once and a while, but in time things do get better and so will you.
