The community has split. One part is happy, patient, positive. The other part has become an endless circle jerk consisting of the same 4 or 5 complaints. At times, they are even targeting the positive people, trying to bring them down. A recruitment exercise in negativity perhaps.

There are a few in the middle, they don't seem to post much anymore though.

This poll and thread reflects that.
So the "positive" side characterizes the other side as an "endless circle jerk"? Quite ironic wouldn't you say?

I'm very proud to be part of this category 👍

In fact, yesterday, I sent a tweet to encourage Kazu and his team

 ... cheers mate ... now I'm curious what you tweeted ... care to share?

If it's split, it's because of people like you with your endless attacks against anyone who dares have a issue about your favorite toy with stuff like "circle jerk". Really, that's what your 'crying' has devolved to now? All you do is target people with negative opinions for your flaming and trolling fun. You, and the handful of people like you, are the problem. Not the solution.

And spin it any way you want if that makes you somehow feel better. But to rational people, the poll shows that the vast majority of respondents are dissatisfied. 65 percent is a landslide majority. Sorry to break that news........

only good thing this update did for me is that it fixed a bug where in most of the races i had a 1second freeze at start & my custom soundtrack wouldnt play.

Simply, I thanked them for their work, I have told them that I trusted them and they have to continue like this :)

He will not answer me but I know he read the tweet.

Targeting people eh?, kinda like you've just targeted the people unhappy with PD and the state of GT at the moment with your belittling comments

Investment has different meanings in finance and economics. I think you are confusing those meanings a bit.

No, I know exactly what I mean. Check this out: https://www.google.ca/finance?client=ob&q=NYSE:SNE

If you check over the last 6 months, you'll notice how the stock price slowly crawls downward until March 3rd, coincidentally around the time the update news came. It then starts it's upward trend. I would not be surprised to see it start sliding again with news that Driveclub is going to be delayed and with news that GT fans are unhappy (in additions to poor GT sales). GT is supposed to have a "long tail" and 6 is failing to deliver that so far.

Anecdotal evidence, yes, but interestingly congruent with the latest news.

By poor investment, I mean it's hard to expect it to return a gain, unlike investing in Google or Apple.

You're not wrong, but I still think this poll is oversimplifying the situation. For instance, If I had to choose one of the options above I'd probably say I'm not satisfied with the update because it didn't come with the one thing I expected it to (the track).

But does that mean I'm 100% unhappy with the update? Of course not. But the way the poll is set up someone like me has to choose the same option as someone who is really upset about the update.

And you're forgetting the group that calls anyone with legitimate complaints "whiners" and "cry babies". It goes both ways.

Very dissatisfied. No disable collision. That's a big negative to me. I do a lot of no draft no nos tuning. When u get in lobbies & have people drafting u to beat you then tells you good race glad I beat you. Well technically you didn't you had to draft me to beat me. when room says no draft no nos tuning. Also still no top speed testing track? Flat out feels like we are taking steps back instead of progressing forward

The reason the community is split is because people have different opinions on the game and how it has progressed thus far. It happens all the time, not just with every game but with everything. That's not the problem though.

The problem is when people on either side of this issue decide that anyone who doesn't agree with them is somehow wrong just because they don't agree. Don't get me wrong though, there is a right way and a wrong way to voice your opinion too. Talking about whatever issue you have in every thread whether it's on topic or not is just flat out whining and the people who take unprovoked potshots at the people who do are no better.

So yes, what Jimi said was part of the problem here on GTPlanet. But your comments are no better and this isn't the first time you've made comments like them. Just because someone doesn't agree with you doesn't give you the right to throw around insults. That goes for both you and him. Keeping that in mind is the only way to make the community better.

Oh, and as I've said before the poll on this thread is severely lacking.

Its interesting that apparently attention has been given to enabling extra adjustable options to karts, including weather racing and brake balance adjusting.
Could this be in preparation for the release of the Senna content that is supposed to cover his racing career including his early career in karting¿?

Could well be the case..... And remember that he was a Master on the rain....

Kart on rain... ha. I´ve done it once IRL... It´s so fun it hurts

I'm not sure where I've thrown around any insult. I used the word 'crying' as a mild shot at the people who continually come into threads, like this guy, just to "cry" about others supposed "crying". I guess that could be construed as a insult if one is looking to be insulted. The rest about him, and people like him, and what they do is completely without insult and is in fact based in reality. That's all they do is come into threads and toss around words like "whiner" and "crybaby". Evidently those insults weren't strong enough so now he feels the need to compare people's complaints to some weird deviant sexual behavior. That's the stuff that's driving a wedge in the community. If there is indeed one. Looks to me like nearly 2/3 are in agreement on this subject.

What? You claimed that anyone rational agrees with you. You insinuated that anyone who doesn't agree with you is somehow irrational or is wrong when satisfaction is clearly a matter of personal opinion. You also described GT at his "favorite toy" which is a clearly belittling statement meant to imply he was a child.

I don't take issue with what you're saying about his part in the problem, but it's silly to suggest you're any better in this scenario.

As I've said before there could be some serious discussion about the validity of this poll due to the way it's set up. But maybe that's a discussion for another time.

In my opinion all this bickering in all the threads between the people that are happy enough with the game and the ones that aren't needs to stop. We are all entitled to our opinion, and that works both ways. But there are some people on here who feel the need to get way overly aggressive in what they post just because someone has a different opinion to them, and there is just no need.
I am pretty happy with the game, but I can understand why people aren't, but I'm also not going to start bickering with the people that aren't because, as I said, they are entitled to their opinion and are allowed to air that on here if they choose.
Why can't we all just get along dammit :p lol

Ignore list. Use it. It works.
Though it makes reading the threads pretty difficult.

I know... Sometimes you read posts that are quoting someone you ignore and you're like, "who the hell is he talking to? He looks ridiculous. "

The FOV in GT6 and I'm assuming GT5 seems backwards. For most people, I believe optimal FOV is in the 40-50 range for proper feel of speed and proper peripheral vision. In my case, since my seat is about 8ft from a 46" screen, the FOV is in the high 30 low 40 range. So for 100 to be the default in GT6 and reducing it actually increases the zoom.
I'm hoping someone can correct anything I said if it was wrong.

Actually, lower FOV should translate to higher zoom, so it's right. Having less FOV means you can see less around you, while higher FOV means you can see more. In Team Fortress 2, for example, it works exactly like this and it is the correct way. So what we need is the ability to set a higher FOV.

Well I am one who has defended GT on several occasions and despite the issues I still enjoyed playing the game and feel as though I got my moneys worth in December alone.

That said I am a bit annoyed at this point. As many of you know I want a leaderboard system in the worst way and we still do not have one. I hoped it would be added with the community features and/or online time trail lobbies but as of yet we still haven't gotten the community features and they are way overdue at this point.

The worst part is that since they indicated these features would come in January we have not heard anything at all about them and still no actual word as to if they will ever give us a proper leaderboard system which is an absolute must for all online enabled racing games in this day and age. Combine that with not getting the track they told us was coming in Feb. and no news as to when any of the other features are coming is more than a little reason to be annoyed.

I was also hoping to have the data logger features by now to help with tuning and can't believe that they have not fixed the pit stop glitches yet.

I feel like I've got my money's worth, but I'm actually starting to give up on the fact that there will actually be a track editor, B-Spec or this 'sound update'.

It would be nice to have these features, but it's already been 3 months since the game has come out. To be honest, I would much rather they started working on GT7 now and made it an amazing, amazing game, which it has the potential to be. I know a lot of people have probably given up on GT6 now anyway.

As much as I have enjoyed Gt games thus far, if we do not get what they said we were going to get and get some of it very soon then I will have to think twice before looking into GT7. 6 wasn't that big a deal as I already had a working PS3 and all the other stuff needed. GT7 on the other hand will require investing in a new console and if it comes out like GT6 with promise of future updates that seem to drag on and on without appearing then at the very least i will wait until the features are actually released before buying the PS4 or GT7. Unless of course something else prompts me to buy a PS4.

FOV is supposed to represent a camera lens, so to speak, isn't it? A 50mm lens would be wider than a 100mm lens. GT6 does this backwards.
That was my understanding but maybe I'm wrong. FOV adjustment is a new thing to me.

The way this forum has been lately if I used the ignore list on all those people that I've been talking about then I'd be left in here talking away to myself each day :p
It is pretty confusing seeing quad posts and what looks like people talking to themselves and replying to posts that don't seem to exist.
