I find it really annoying that there aren't any good Matchbox cars at my local Kmart:indiff:

Would anyone here be interested in buying a V8 Supercar model? I have a 2 Greg Murphy Commys (2007 and 2008) and a Rick Kelly Commy from 2008 (all 1:64 by Classic Carlectables) I only deal through eBay, however.

So my birthday came and went. But my collection grew and grew. I started at something like 10 cars. Now I'm up to 167. Not a bad haul if I do say so myself. Thanks to loved ones who kept dropping off cars after cars!

My birthday was a week ago. Got your phone fixed yet, dude? Box's still here. :)

Happy belated birthday. Got the phone fixed. Should be able to do something on this payday.

Just picked up an OH5 '68 Cougar this morning as well. And the OH5 Datsun wagon seller granted me the free priority shipping. Woot.

So new hot wheels won't be coming to stores until k day in November? I haven't seen any new cars.
New cases are every 3-4 weeks I believe. A cases are still quite rare (excluding the dump bins some Walmarts got) so don't expect B cases for at least a couple weeks. (or if you are in a hurry, they are available online right now)

I have all the A case cars that I wanted. I checked all the stores that sell cars by me but they all have A case or older. I asked at the Walmart when they get new cars but they didn't give me a date.

Honestly your best bet is to just keep an eye out here, or sign up for the hotwheelscollectors.com forums and keep an eye on the Finds section. If you don't see anything new there, then there's nothing new.

My mom thinks I'm "crazy" wasting my money on hot wheels. I don't.

Okay, I know some of you here like bigger models than 1:64, and some of you like putting the models together....

Don't buy those snap-tite models. They suck.

The problems were endless.

Details:

No Z/28 badge. Anywhere
Claims to be an SS model, had the RS headlight covers.
The "Camaro" badge was yellow, should've been chrome.
Came with base model 69 Camaro rims.
No "302" badge on the hood.
Hood wasn't cowl induction, just a base model hood.
Stickers had very poor detailing.

Quality.

Shifter came broken. This is why I'm returning it.
The snap-together system was shoddy at best. Parts barely fit together.
Cheap plastic wasn't even the right shade of yellow.
Claimed to have aluminum wheels (iirc), had chrome sprayed plastic.

What a waste of 17 bucks.

Those plastic kits you can find at Michael's? Yeah. Nah. I'd just grab diecasts of the same scale and mod those. Maisto 1:18s are in the $20 price range already.

I say mod because, at the end of the day, a plastic model kit more often times than not get personalized changes from its original instructions.

Or maybe I just have a thing for modifying existing products than assemble a kit with all required parts given to you.

Yeah. I should've used common sense. A 17 dollar kit is gonna suck. But it claimed to be a Z/28 in Daytona Yellow, which is my favorite Color for that gen Camaro, so...

I think I'll stick with Maisto, HW, and M2.

Has anyone else had quality issues on the paint from M2?

They are somewhat highly detailed and have opening hoods/doors, etc etc. I think they are worth the money, but only if they can get their quality control up to snuff. Give the kids at the factory some candy if they work a little harder. :P
What would you say the best brand is, for a mix of quality, detail, and affordability?

The Walmarts in my area have a good mix of everything, except for the one closest to my house that doesn't sell M2s, AWs or 1:24 diecast at all.

That's all my Walmart has. Chevelle's/Trans Am's etc.
Mine has lots of GM, just not AW GMs .

First, nice new avatar. Best color for the Firebird IMO.

Second, ours sells AW, Mbox, M2, HW, Maisto (some), and "Adventure World" whatever that is.

@Spacegoat, if you're planning to order CM's cars from pallaszg, remind him to make sure the cars are securely put back into the box. Apparently he has all these CM's cars, but no longer has the box for it, so he sends you them in a bunch of CM's Toyota boxes. I don't know how that even works *avatar*, but I had an SX4 and Skoda arrive with their wings broken off, because the base came off their clear plastic shells and must've tumbled during delivery. The other cars that came in their original shells didn't budge so they showed up perfectly fine.

But this dude being unable to get you the original shell for certain cars just means he has to take some extra measures to make sure the base doesn't undo itself from the shell. Don't let that happen to you.

Auto World and unpopular Kyoshos.
