@Johnny1996 - You like your Hot Wheels. I couldn't spend $60 on hot wheels at one store, not even at gun point. OK, at gun point, but it'd be a torture. :D

Rest of the cars I got from Japan Booster:

LV-35a Prince Clipper Garbage Truck

LV-N43a Isuzu Gemini "Handling by Lotus"

LV-N65a Honda Civic

LV-81b Datsun Bluebird Estate

LV-N42a 1973 Nissan Fairlady 260ZE

Kyosho Lamborghini Countach LP500S

Kyosho Subaru Legacy Touring Wagon

@a6m5 The Gemini and Legacy look good! 👍

Definitely waiting on the TLV Toyota Century to pop up.

Countach!
I'll be honest..... I wasn't all that impressed. Proportion may be off, it's certainly not sexy like the impression you get from some model Countach, or the real thing. Way it's put together doesn't really look refined either........ I just remembered that this car was $5. Ah, yeah, it's pretty nice.

Thank you! Gemini, I liked the odd color, but I had no idea it was the "Handling by Lotus" edition. I always thought those were cool, even if gimmicky.

I'm also a Century fan, though I SO wish they did the older one instead. :indiff: I think the AmiAmi preorder was for May, but I preordered it along with this one.

Well I didn't end up coming across any more Tomica's in Japan really. I bought the Initial D trueno just for the novelty of it but the Tomica's that aren't the vintage are pretty damn nasty and only stock this years cars and modern cars are pretty lame to me.

Today I bought the HW Datsun 620 in green just because it looks so damn nice, also bought the Porsche 934 turbo, pretty well for the same reason. Not sure why but I have a soft spot for that shape Porsche.

Literally sitting next to my keyboard as I attempt to slightly detail it.

Haha I'm staring at it on the drive home. Only thing that irks me is how from the bumper down is chrome. If it had the valance and chin spoiler green it would be amazing.

It is annoying but given the lip is part of the base it's kinda hard not to be chrome.

Still no less annoying however.

Wait, where did you find the two Porsches and what brand were they? ME WANT NOW.

Left one is Tomica, from the Wangan Midnight boxset. Then the right one is Hot Wheels. Both were sourced locally, the latter from a major toy store.

I'm also going to quote Duke Togo here: "............."

Spoilsport. :grumpy:

Dude love the Bluebird estate and the 260z (such a great colour) but man I'm really drawn to the Gemini just because it's a complete oddball of car lol, the Lotus connection makes it cool too. Excellent stuff.👍
with this one.

Yep, I went for that townace too. Easy choice.

Touche. Not to worry Supergoat, I found one just like it. Yes, we shall use this particular model model for double loop(already accustomed to going upside down). :P

I totally agree on the Fairlady Z, and here's something we all know about "Handling by Lotus", unless you are complete noob. It's on TV & internet, so I have very little doubt about its handling capabilities.

God, I want that red one, too, but that orange Isuzu Bellett I think is also in May. I already have the whitey Townace & Toyota Century, and Century's like $18 or something like that, all by itself. I'll have to see about it next Spring!

..... fake wood on the sides, 'cause lot cooler looking........

What's scary's that we are a lot alike. We'll probably keep this on the down low though.

P.S. Make sure the hood is taped down & secured on your Silhouette Bluebird before you mail it to me. :dopey:

There's something about that generation Gemini's design that I like. They pulled off the wheels pretty well.

I saw that on AmiAmi's website, I love the wood panel. Might go for that as well. :P

That was fun catching up. It has been a few days.

@a6m5 fantastic pics. I love the two fire engines together, and that is great that things worked out after the damage. That truck has to be the most fragile of all the TLV's. The number of separate pieces is amazing. Tell Akiyo you are sending the damaged truck to me...;-)

The December TLV batch is on its way to me, hopefully by the end of the week so I can photograph them before I leave on vacation. We will see.

Lastly, due to some contacts spending some time with Tomytec execs in Japan this last week, I have been able to learn more about the process of deciding on and making certain models. It is amazing how different the process is with TLV than other diecast companies. The guys are passionate about what they do. We will do a write-up on the process soon...

And yeah, the GT-R's are insanely cool.

Those TLV ladder trucks are just so neat, and yes, putting two of them side by side was cool. 👍 I already received the tracking info for the replacement from Akiyo. Unbelievable service. 👍

While I'm looking forward to your TLV haul for this month, I'm REALLY looking forward to this inside story on Tomytec. :embarrassed:

From top to bottom:
Toyota Corona
Nissan Leopard
Toyota Carina
Toyota Mark II Grande
and the Nissan Cedric

Nice, that's a really cool compilation of vintage JDM sedans\coupes. 👍 The Cedric is really nice, although I prefer the black unmarked "Seibu" one (not because of the series, but because of the design, I am a sucker for early\late 80's cars).

They do feature extra detailing, but yeah, if you are not familiar with the show, it's hard to justify $30+ for those cars IMO.

I kinda guessed that would be the case. It's probably better (and obviously cheaper) to go for a stock Iron Mask anyway.
Absolutely priceless. Probably his most common line.👍
I'm also going to quote Duke Togo here: "............."
Hey, that's my his line! I've always believed that if you put Duke Togo, Heero Yuy, Chirico Cuvie and Sosuke Sagara in the same room, the amount of elipses used would match that used in all Square Enix games. Yes, that much...

TOY-SCL2-41338.jpg

Yeah, even if it is a newer Century, I'm still awaiting this car with great antecipation. These cars don't get done in diecast form often, and I'm a really big fan of the Century regardless of its age (only production V12 in Japan, man).

Also, @a6m5, really digging that Gemini, the oddball factor and the Lotus factor make it a nice choice for a sedan. The Prince garbage truck is cool as well, love that the front grille and the headlamp mould have the exact same shape. 👍 And the name fits well with something else related to me (my PSN account, perhaps? :sly:)...

@RCKakashi14, that Countach, man... That's one fierce looking lady.
