So is tape cheaper than glue now? I'm confused as to why they are doing this.

Edit:

Looking forward to this.

I hope it's got decals for both sets of lights. With no livery, it should be doable at the mainline price point.

Man, I checked Kroger & Walmart yesterday, TRU today. Still nothing. :( @R1600Turbo still no success trying to figure out the barcode?

I think you could be on to something. Maybe they apply the glue according to the weight of the car (glue costs money, why use more than what's needed?). Maybe there was an error regarding the metal base cars and their plastic base brethren.
My guess is that they let the same guy who apply tampos operate the glue machine. He sucks & needs to be fired.
loose faith
This explains my stance on humanity perfectly. :p

Pretty cool interview with Jun Imai

http://thenewswheel.com/get-to-know-jun-imai-acclaimed-hot-wheels-designer-and-car-enthusiast/

This part caught my attention
TNW: What car do you currently drive, and has that model ever been turned into a Hot Wheels replica?

Imai: I’ve actually turned a few of my personal cars into a Hot Wheels car, notably my 1971 Datsun 510 wagon, 1974 Datsun 260Z with G nose conversion, and my ’73 Datsun 620 truck. I also have an ’85 911 Carrera 3.2. My daily drivers are a VW MK4 Jetta and a 2014 Honda Odyssey, which coincidentally is a new Hot Wheels model for 2016.

TNW: Wow, that’s a fantastic collection! If you could make absolutely any vehicle into a Hot Wheel car, which one would be at the top of your list?

Imai: A 1971 Nissan Skyline wagon–just because it’s an unusual car, and that era Skyline is my favorite car. That’s why the Nissan KGC10 Skyline is my favorite Hot Wheels car; it looks perfect, just as a Skyline should. I’d also like to see an Audi RS6 Avant.

Imagine this: Car Culture series 2017 focused on...
Wagons!!! :drool::eek::drool::eek:

A store I often check got new Hot Wheels finally.

The DB5 is quite nice. Wish the windows weren't blue though.

And this NSX is a real surprise to me. I don't really care much about the actual car, but this particular Hot Wheels is really likable. The casting itself is nice, the paint looks fantastic IMO and I even managed to get one where the tampos are aligned perfectly.

Package from Japan!

The Konami silvia I got recently impressed me enough to get another Konami.
A Mazda Cosmo Sport this time in a really nice shade of paint. Refreshing to see one that isn't white.

And well, one can never have too many CM's. Unless you're @AOS- and you sell a bunch of them to Apok. He sold me my first Lancia Delta, an 8V. It now has a buddy, this 16V.

Love comparing the two. Spot the differences!

The only difference I see is that antenna not being put on display :p

But let's compare that Cosmo with Kyosho's:

Wow yucky tail lights ^

Attaching the antenna scares me. Too small and too easy to lose.

Is the roof on that Cosmo Sport all one plastic piece? Yucky indeed, I'll keep the Konami. :p

Is there some sort of website that lists Kyosho releases?
I'm asking because it can be really hard to find out when a particular model was released.

EDIT:
Yeah, the Kyosho website is a good start.

:ouch::ouch::ouch::ouch:

EDIT2:
Doesn't list all of them though.

The Euro Style was $4.97 for me. Garages went for around that price too, so it seems fair.

That Kyosho Cosmo is laughable.

I like that you're open to sharing opinions now.

Tweezers + dab of super glue, dog.

And I'm not sure if it is one whole piece. It may not be.

Went to Hobby Lobby looking for brass tubes... Walked out with this (don't know what it is but it's super cool in my book)

If I had to guess, I would say that is a stretched Mercury limo, painted like an American Army car and decked out with rear wheel covers. It also seems to have an engine on the back, between the rear doors, but that could be just me.

Either way, it's a very unique casting to say the least, but it's a cool one. 👍

That's a pretty good guess cuz that's exactly what it is. It has an engine in the front as well as a behemoth in the back as you noted. Lots of details as you can see in the back of the box

It also came in silver

Edit: That Speedhunters Bluebird is going to be my next obsession

@a6m5 this one is for you:
You know, I didn't buy GMC Panel due to lack of the bike all this time. I think late last year, I finally bought one, because of the Snoopy release? *digs up picture*

My post on it.

I was pretty impressed by it. While I doubt that this new casting come equipped with a bike, I'm sure Mattel will add some neat touch to it inside. Thanks for the heads up. 👍

Ha! I didn't realize there were that much differences. Nice addition to the collection! 👍
Hot Wheels Garage cars are making a comeback, though sadly it's just one of those cheap Walmart sets. 👎

Did you take that thing off its base yet? It is SLAMMED. I have a few in my collection, but just three on my blog.

Yup (I crack open everything :)) and the details are really impressive to say the least.

Personally, I don't mind the doors not opening on 1/64 models but I was disappointed the wheels didn't move independently like HWs or MBXs (main reason I haven't really got into the premium Japanese brands), but that's nitpicking at this point. M2 did a great job with these casts (super jelly you got the silver one)

Also I'll be sure to follow your blog more often as there's a lot of good info there :O;)

For me, I just like to look at these toy cars, so if the wheels spun at all, I'm happy. :D

I do wish M2 came up with more of these Stretch-Rods. I'm definitely a fan. One that got away was the Pink Cadillac stretch. It very rarely comes up anymore on eBay, and I'm afraid I missed out. They go upwards of $40 now by my observation, maybe over $50. I really wanted one, but all my money was going towards other brands at the time.

Thank you! Initially I started the blog just to mess around & also catalog my cars, but I have been making efforts to share what little I know about subject. In fact, I just hopped into this thread hoping to recover old information I needed for my current post I'm finishing up now. Thanks again. :D

Those damn BugZee NSXs still aren't in stock at AmiAmi yet. I hope they don't bail on us.
Just paid for the Calsonic or whatever Nissan GT-R(April release, mine was backorder). That one released on time this time around, so I expect the May releases to be on schedule as well.

I got my next Kyosho, it was already in the US so it came pretty quick. Wanted to get something different.

Think I'm gonna keep taking photos outside cause it's much better than in my house cause I have terrible lighting inside.
