On another note, remember how you told me not to wait on that dump bin to empty itself to find a GT350R? Well on my third visit to the bin, I noticed that teal Sesto Elemento, a car that was not seen in the previous two visits. So I had some hope that there was a new case that was mixed in. Thankfully it didn't take long to spot it at the bottom. And I just want to say "Yesssssssss to perseverance."
Tampo's all messed up on that one. There were, like, at least four of those with good tampos in the beginning.
P.S. Oops. Didn't mean to scare ya. Let me change it to something else. BRB.
Creepy. It hasn't changed!

This is the first time I could not understand what you were trying to communicate to me. Towards the end, I kind of got the idea, but yeah.

So, on the day before yesterday, I bought my fifth Kyosho 1/64.
Thanks to @a6m5's previous post, I noticed that Kyosho is producing the GT-R GT3. Somehow I developed an affinity for it but not the 2 previous GT3s, and in the next few hours, I was contemplating whether to buy it or not. Perhaps it was because of the fact that the GT-R GT3 wasn't available in many scales (only the 1/64 made by Kyosho and the 1/43 made by Ebbro. AUTOart planned to make a 1/18 version, but so far, no photos have surfaced), perhaps it was because I found it to be more beautiful than the other 2. Anyway, on the next day, I bought it for a hefty price tag of 150 HKD (~19.5 USD), and so far, it looks pretty nice. Whether it will be a purchase I regret remains to be seen. Only complaint I have is the orange spot that's behind the right clear headlight cover, but that could be intentional, as there is a similar spot on the other side. Can anyone confirm my suspicion?
Here're the pictures:

It's a bit redundant, but here's a photo of the interior, in case any of you are interested.

Big boxes too! a6 just adores the big TLV boxes.
I'd key your car if I lived by you.
How are the wheels on the Ralliart? Just looking at some pics on Japan Booster and I'm on the fence about them.
Wheels are okay.

They look, okay. Not exactly great though?
Still, good deal though. You'll finally get this neat casting! 👍 It's just that silver is awesomer. :P
Could you do a comparison with the TLV variant? I swear this car looks absolutely brilliant, almost as good as a TLV. For the price, it really is great value - now I will buy the entire set... Yes, I'm that stupid.
Not even close, but I very much recommend these R35 GT-Rs by Kyosho. I thought they looked even better than the much nicer build Oversteer GT-R as I mentioned in that Kyosho post. Oversteer has much nicer, WAY superior parts & tampos, but I really think Oversteer messed up the proportion of the car where Kyosho got it right.

TLV though, they are just perfect considering the scale. If you can get Kyosho for cheap, I'd recommend Kyosho. If you can buy TLV GT-R close to their MSRP(or better), I recommend them, too. I'm a big fan of Oversteer, but their GT-R looks bit funky to me. *shrug*
Can anyone confirm my suspicion?
Must be, I just looked at mine & they are there as well. Damn, that is a good looking model. For it's true MSRP(around $8, U.S.), it's an unbelievably good looking car. I opened the red N-Attack thing first, because I liked the color, but OMG, GT3 actually looks better!

Guys, did I make mistake? Just bought this beauty from my dealer for US$30 but I'm starting to have a bit of buyers remorse. I checked eBay and the price seems right but...I'm not sure, it's the single most expensive Hot Wheels I've ever bought!

Looks like there was an even more outlandish paint scheme available in '88. Not sure what year the TLV is supposed to be from.
..... Where do you find this stuff!?👍

I usually just check eBay "sold" search for the same item & see what the real life going rate is.

As for the Skyline, for me, one to go for was this one(edit: Hot Wheels "100%" Sweet Rods):

They cost a lot more though. I want to say that I paid about $80, but I can't remember. EDIT: $70, shipped!!

Edit2: Just did a post on it. I thought I already had.

Wheels are okay.

I concur.

Wheels on the black version are so much better. It's the colour of them that really suits it.

That stance on the Stratos... I don't want to be wrong, but at the same time I feel like Tomica has made a car fit for The Crew with a trophy truck-esque stance. The Iron Mask, on the other hand, has plenty of potential, I can say that much.

I am spoiled thanks to the trillion CM's Stratos cars I own, but those wheels look totally off for some reason. Too big maybe?

Stopped by the local Wally on the way home last night and was surprised to see they caught up with the world with some N cases dumped into the bin. Picked up the Ford GT, red NSX, red GT350 and a few others. Also saw an M2 pickup that I couldn't leave behind and they also managed to get some Euro series cars so I picked up another BMW M3 to sacrifice it to the wheel swapping gods. Pics tonight.

I've just seen a red NSX, GT, red GT350R and the Focus RS and couldn't be bothered to pull the trigger on any of them. I'll probably get the first two, maybe the Shelby, but I'm totally annoyed by the RS.

Two sets of decals, right on the front of the car, so 90% of it is a poorly defined mass of blue. I guess I could get one and colour in the details, but why do they do this with the road cars?! Things like that Boom Box Escalade thing with full decal and looks hideous, yet here's one of the hottest cars right now given front lights and a part of its grille.

When I initially found the Focus RS I went through the whole bin and pulled out the best one, but still not happy with it.

Speaking of tampo quality, I just had to run to the Walmart by my work for something on my lunch break and they had some new Matchbox on the pegs. Picked up the red Chrysler 300C but there were some other good ones like the Lamborghini LM002, VW caddy trucks (new and old) and a few others. But while looking at them I was amazed at how nice the tampo's are. I will post a photo of the Chrysler when I get home tonight. Matchbox are made in Thailand, and I have seen better quality on Hot Wheels made in Thailand, so maybe Mattel should shift operations there...

Well, I felt motivated by this thread to go check Walmart again to see if I missed anything and I apparently did. I went back to the HW racks and noticed a 1999 Mustang GT that I was missing for the "Ford Performance" set and got it. along with a couple more cars. Then, I saw 3 bins that I somehow miss from my last trip there, they had a few cars that I was hoping to get.

Ok, here's what I picked up last night. Going to try and find another NSX because in my search for the best front/rear tampos I didn't see that the roof was all scratched up. Go figure. And I finally gave in to the BMW because why not.

And the M2 Chevy Apache that I couldn't pass up.

And then the Chrysler 300C I picked up today. I had a shot of the front as well but it came out super blurry and I don't feel like taking another one right now since it take forever to set up for photos. You can kind of see the front in the first image. Tampos not 100% aligned on the back but overall it's a lot better than Hot Wheels...

You sistematically complain about metal flake and unauthentic wheels in TLVs, yet pay 70 bucks for the worse Skyline casting ever made with absurd muscle car wheels.

You're absolutely unfathomable.

That's probably considered an error for MBX. You are lucky. j/k I did pass up on that M2 Chevy truck, but it sure looked really good. 👍

You are comparing apples to oranges though. Things expected of premium Hot Wheels & premium Tomicas really are two different things.

Admittedly I wasn't too hot on the Sweet Rods Skyline either, but then again, you also make fun of RLC Silverado done in chrome & antifreeze lime green, so there!
