I like that the green stripes are gone. It makes the finds more rewarding when you go inspect the car instead of side-swiping the pegs for a green stripe.

True, I can see both points of view and also understand that lazy minded hoarders would have an easier time getting to them too, but still, I miss that sudden burst of excitement I used to get when I saw a green stripe.

Ironically, when they got rid of the green stripes and started making the packages to where they blended in with the mainline's, the castings kind of went with it in my opinion. A lot of the new ones don't look much better than the rest. (I am not even including $upers)

Got 6 cars today from the hobby shop.

Ford gt90, camaro wind, Iroc firebird, dash 4 cash f40, countach, and the bmw m roadster.
Never heard of Camaro wind.

That will partially come true because they're trying to monopolize it. The less available, the higher they can ask for one. While what @Robin commented on about mass produced cars is partially true, that doesn't necessarily stop them these guys from doing it anyway. Hoarding lower its vast availability, and the other majority of collectors who already have one are obviously not going to let theirs go. The most reliable source to get hold of items at that point is from the hoarders themselves.

I came across a post on facebook where someone shared a photo of a box loaded with the white Datsun 240Z. He was ever so willing to sell it to anyone leaving an immediate note: "It's not for a dollar though."

Yeah, if your artificially create rarity by stockpiling it could drive prices up but I think in this case the volumes involved would make it rather difficult because many hoarders would have to buy thousands before general availability became affected. It's probably prudent though to get a model early if you really want it and it looks like it's going to be popular.

From Lamley Group's FB page:

@AOS- lookie! The Zamac 599XX! :D

John has all the goodies.

I've got about 23 (once was 24) of the 36 there.

Never bothered with the Cayman, GT-Rs, 612, California, or GTO. I do however have about 9 or 10 others he doesn't got there. Most of those have been robbed of their wheels though.

I'm a monster. :P

So... I've heard that on rare cars, like limited edition cars or treasure hunts, there is a little logo on it symbolizing it's rarity. Is this true?
Regular treasure hunts have the "circle flame" logo. That's it.

Mattel widely used that logo in the past though, so anything older than 2-3 years doesn't mean squat.

There are one or two I wish I had, but I am pretty happy with those. One of my smartest collecting moves was grabbing the last batch from collectors overseas. Most assumed they would show here in the US. Some did, but others didn't. The Zamac 599XX is the rarest of them all. It hardly showed up overseas as well. I got lucky and grabbed two when most thought it would eventually show here. Glad I did.

There were a couple that were slated to be done, but never finished. Heard of a black Italia and an Aston DBS.

Other than the ones I got locally, I grabbed a bunch of my cooler Speed Machines off some dude in Greece. He still sells the same few ones today.

The other I got from an eBay seller who was willing to part with his personal collection to make a bit of money off me. Are you willing to do the same on that second 599XX?

My brother came back from Europe, and this is what he brought back for me:

I went to go look for some jeans on the way home, and this is what I came home with:

I bought it for the Impala, but the Durastar's kinda fun too with those blingin' rims. :)

On AmiAmi too, any of your shipments from them arrived yet?
This has been the slowest one to date(either this or the "Hawaiian"). It spent nearly a week in Tokyo, then several days in L.A....... Except the customs in L.A. didn't either bother scanning it. I didn't even know that it was in the States until the Post Office in L.A. finally scanned it. Either that, or they smuggled it inside the country. :dopey: L.A. Post Office isn't any faster, so I expect it by the end of the week. Maybe. :(

Like R1600 noted, older cars with same logo are not Treasure Hunts. Also, this one newer car is also not Treasure Hunts(though it bares same logo):

:odd:

Edit:

Tomica are releasing a TommyKaira ZZ in their regular lineup in March. Haven't bought a regular Tomica in ages but this one could be worth keeping an eye on.
Agreed. 👍
Edit: Stumbled across this on 829 Japan. Full size ChoroQ, that actually works. So awesome.

Do not stand in front of that...... :nervous: :scared:

Some yoyo tried to snipe an item at the last second for $20.55, adding in the extra 55 cents in anticipation of a $20 bidder as well as the bidder who would've anticipated that with 20.50. Today wasn't his lucky day, because that 250 GTO is MINE.

Durastar jibber jabber
But that Impala though.

Yeah, Maistos are hit & miss, mostly misses, but they nailed it with this Impala.

So money. Good job. 👍

No idea, never look at those. Also, the cereal cars etc that you wanted I think are old enough to not be in stores anymore.
I think it's actually fairly new. I've begun seeing them online just month or two ago. I don't know why, but not one of the stores around me carry it..... Then again, stores in my area suck so hard. :banghead:

The Marvel & Cereal cars he wanted? Hot Wheels?

The Maisto he was talking about.

I suspect they're about the the same size as the regular Jadas? If I happen to find one, It's going beside the green one I painted, but that one is going to need a new look or else it won't look up to snuff.

Cereal for sure, but I think Marvel maybe newer as well, if not the newest. Edit: Probably not the newest, but this may be:

Nah, this one seems to be identical size to Hot Wheels.

Oh dang. Well if you ever happen upon them, please :D also, pleeeease take a peek at the Maistos for that Impala, that thing is awesome.

3 inches as apposed to the 3.25 inch Jada? Just wanted to be damn sure before I go throwing school money around again
With those pointy things on the front bumper, roughly 3 & 1/8. Body itself is pretty much right at 3 inches.

Slow as they may be, do hope that it arrives soon. We need pictures man! 👍 Super Impala, Flatbed combo by the way. Damn.
Agreed. 👍

If there's ever a TLV version of the TommyKaira ZZ in the future.
Take all my money!

Ohp. It doesn't fit in the plastic cases of mine in that case. Gonna have to pass on it. Thanks for measuring it though.
