Your "maybe" all-time favorite car!(from your TLV wishlist)

Good guess on the old Prelude, as I have a soft spot for 70's and 80's era Hondas. But the actual favorite on that list is the IS Sportcross. I loved the IS the second it came out, and the only way to make it better was to do a wagon, and they did. I was happy. I still love it to this day. It never got the love it deserved, but then again no wagons here in the US ever do.

Definitely more to the US than Japan, but there is a lot going to South America, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Australia as well.

It is funny how a few years ago TLV collectors in the US were seriously in the double digits, and that is not an exaggeration. Guys like Toyotageek and Jeff Koch were on board very early, and my first introduction was a few years ago at the Matchbox Convention in Albuquerque (still one of the best diecast shows around), and I think my first purchase was a Skyline Van. It was all downhill from there. It is nice to see a growing number of collectors, but it will always be limited because of how expensive they are.

And, why not show some cars I would love to see them do, with a heavy focus on Neo:

The rest of the time I just like to be surprised. TLV is my JDM education.

By the way, one of these cars might be my favorite car....uh....ever. Can you guess?

Late to the whole wish list talk. But TLV NEEDS TO MAKE A GITA/SPORTCROSS!!!! I've been on the hunt for any signs of any kind of IS300 Sportcross model and have never seen one... Would be awesome to have one. Especially when I bought one last month. :D

Edit: Was looking back through older posts, but just saw @jtl46's above mine. I've been on the hunt for a Sportcross for years. And one magically popped up on my local craigslist.

Get a room, you two. :sly: j/k
I counted my collection. I realize that some people turn to food when they're stressed. I turn to cheap toy cars.
For me, films. Films melts the stresses away.... especially when you throw junk food in there. :p

You know, I'd give that car(I'm a Lexus fanboy) a ten, all the way until we came to the taillights. I'm still in a disbelief over those lights.

Edit: I just remembered that they pioneered the clear tailight trend. We actually called them "Altezza" lights for awhile. I'm not a fan of clear taillights either, but just to clarify, what I hate are the two red dots(inside tailights), I think on the trunk/liftgate.

I've sat on my butt for years watching Netflix due to my Crohn's and my hip. Collecting cars gives me a resson to get out AND lets me forget about life for a minute.

A fix I might consider for my own.

Edit: Now that I saw @a6m5's edit. I can agree with the clear taillights. I don't mind the trunk lights though.

I've seen people "shave" them off of GS's. Makes the GS look a little bland. Never really seen an IS with the trunk lights shaved.

I'm gonna go do this right now.

Dang, sorry to hear dude. I do like hot wheels/minicar collecting in that, it's low maintenance, and unless your name is Andy in Canada, or Jason in 'Zona, you are free to steer your collection in whichever & however way you feel like right this minute. If you are Andy, then you can't have this casting, no, you can't have that either. And Jason, he can't have most hot wheels now. j/k Andy & Jason, don't kill me.
:p

My microsoft paint.....shop:

Removing the two inside lights alone wouldn't work, but I'd just have longer taillights commonly seen on many other Lexus(early & the latest). Actually, on this Altezza, it doesn't look horrible. It looks like a riced Monaro.

No worries. What you've said shows you've cared enough to remember something about me. 👍

The way I see it, collecting with no restrictions (back in 2012) required more maintenance than what I have to manage now. I want a lot of things, but I obviously don't have the space. Storage space was the biggest issue.

With the list of restrictions I now follow, I haven't gone beyond the 5 totes I bought myself 1 or 2 years ago. My mother keeps having the impression I'm going to end up hoarding way too much space in the house to store this collection, but no new real estate has been established ever since I got those totes (other than the K'Nex display frame and the two 3-drawer units that have remained only in my room).

I'm still displeased by the amount I've spent in the past 3 months. My next restriction I'm aiming to lay down is a max limit of dollars I can spend for the rest of this year.

I counted my collection. I realize that some people turn to food when they're stressed. I turn to cheap toy cars.

Cheap toy cars are probably what I'm doing to distract myself from life. I'm disappointed in myself.

I find music and hot showers don't undo stress for me. Video games don't either. Funny. Because of a bad sleep the night before, the back neck muscles have been aching the whole day. It kept my mind pondering what actually reduces stress for me at work, and I think doing absolutely nothing (preferably while looking out the window on a bright day) is probably the one thing that has worked.

I totally agree. Fantastic job by Kyosho. 👍

And such discipline is also part of the freedom we have with this hobby. I did joke earlier, but you know I fully support keeping the size of the collection in check!

Couple of pages back you said you rate the CM's Fiat 131 as an achievement. Personally I rate the GT3 as an achievement. Such a wonderful model. 👍

Pfffft, don't be a light weight. The last one I cried about, it spend roughly a week at L.A. Customs, then took five days to transfer the package from the Customs to the post office in the same 🤬 city. My local post office then sat on it & never notified me that my package was getting kicked around on their floor. I wish I was kidding, but I was explained that I never got notified because it really was sorted to the floor. You'd think after 2, 3 days, somebody there would see this same box on the floor & go, I better see what's going on with this box that's been in my way for days..... :ouch:

Anywho, I was whining with @Ken Koios about the local hot wheel availability & see what happens:

New cars. Whoopie doo. It's been........ so long, mang. :ouch::ouch: They had tiny amount of new M2s, too, but passed on their ever more repetitive releases(just like what Ken said about same cars in "different colors"). On the bright side, Rabbit pickup is top notch(bought both they had, 1 gifted to my VW nut coworker). Actually, Civic's really cool, too. Dodge van's usually a popular casting with me, but Mooneyes scheme made it an automatic. 👍

You have to get the Fiat, J-Money. Start stalking them on eBay. Yes, I love GT3 too, but you just have to. Who knows, if you are patient with it, you may even find a deal on one. :D
I just bought myself a Dauer 962C by Kyosho!!!!!
I've eyed that one more than once or twice online. Congrats. 👍

I'm dying to get my hands on that Caddy and that Moon Eye's Van!

1 F case showed up in the truck I unloaded 1! Wth, I was hoping there was going to be a 4 case dump bin but nope 1 case.

Hmmm......

'90 Honda Civic EF

Late, but really new for me!
I'm dying to get my hands on that Caddy and that Moon Eye's Van!
Caddy is amazing.

Volkswagen Caddy or AKA Rabbit Pickup

Sweet detailing!
Hey. At least you got something! :banghead:
It just took so long!
pallaszg.
How do one come up with a handle like that?
Eh, 7 days is too long, don't care what it is.
Well, mine was in customs for about 7 days, but I hope yours don't follow with a 5 day tour of Los Angeles!

Forgot to post what came in the mail:

Pop Culture M&M Drag Bus

1966 Starburst Dodge A100

Grateful Dead & Sponge Bob Dairy Delivery + 3 Musketeers '55 Chevy Panel Van

I bought the lot just for the Drag Bus & especially the A100. I was pretty confident I could find the A100 at one of my local stores. No. Go.

My second super both had 1 of each, but no regular TH which was weird.

Nice! How low did you get it for?

I got it for roughly 6 USD.

And here it is:

It used to be displayed on a diorama in a major toy store, but then some store employees clearly do not really take care of the diorama when they add some items in the glass display box thingy. So the owner of the store where I bought it (he is the distributor of Greenlights, happens to also own a hobby shop of his own) decides to bring in some loose and damaged items such as this one.

As you can see, it has no side mirrors and gathered so much dust and dirt. But other than those it's fine. I cleaned it off for it to be presentable.

And it shall be paired with another dirt cheap Kyosho:
