I like making my own vintage cars.

That makes absolutely no sense if you think about it.

@yabiggoose, good photos. Focus is a bit off at times, but you brought out an attractive balance of high/mid/low values as well as its bright colours. 👍

Let's push it a bit more until someone else comes in with a TLV or Kyosho:

Whilst I appreciate the comment this isn't a photography thread. We get the point by now you take your photography seriously but it gets a bit tiresome reading constant critiquing of the technique rather than the content.

:scared:

How hard are you going to push?

No. They show carelessness and this other damned word I just forgot.

Callousness?

The amount of skin cells on the item also dates it. Did you see the amount of skin on that old kombi humvee you showed awhile back? That was old. Been sitting around for some time.

Finallys, I got my GT3. The post office took long because they were having difficulties orientating themselves with which side being considered "UP".

Those guys..

Well, AOS, you sure know how to make your photos stand out, eh? Is flipping a car upside down your latest innovation in scale model car photography?

But yes, the Australian jokes do apply themselves like gloves, and the Conti still looks great even while being upside down. 👍

I'll get one, for sure. :p But I expect some bashing here.

I wouldn't bash you for getting the Nuel (trying some German words here, haha) TommyKaira ZZ-S. Even while being a more basic Tomica, as opposed to being a TLV and such, it still is the VERY FIRST scale model of the car. That by itself tells me it's a good purchase. Maybe one day we'll see a better Tomica Limited version of it (a man can dream, correct?)...

I've always got a few cars ready to be shared. Better watch out. :p

Given how I was the last one to get a GT3, it wouldn't mean much to just share another pic of one. So I decided to try applying some surreal humour to it.

I got some cars in the mail today. These were three separate lots that I won from a german seller.

16902429076_e63ff571a1_k.jpg

A Hot Wheels Dodge Demon and a Hot Wheels something-something made up car. Oh well, I can steal the wheels.

Now I know what you're thinking: 'Apok, go away with your silly Hot Wheels. We want to talk about TLVs'

I thought I'd start off with the least exciting stuff. :p
The real stuff is next.

These were three lots I won from a german seller. The Hot Wheels were part of this first lot along with...

Majorette Shadow DN5 F1 car.

16740685178_82d7c7aa07_k.jpg

Sponsored by none other than 'Red Stripes on Yellow Background inc.'
And Valvoline strangely enough.

Up next is another Majo. The vaguely named 'Porsche Le Mans'

16928347435_55d563762b_k.jpg

It's pretty silly looking.

What else is silly looking? This Majorette Matra Simca 670.

16742137819_e3f60b4c1d_b.jpg

Looks a bit like a strange bug, but gets massive bonus points for the awesome hinged rear end exposing the engine. Awesome.

Majorette VW Beetle.

16927055922_b52ceb3794_k.jpg

It's seen better days for sure. But it has the earliest type of Majorette free-rolling axle wheels.

Just like the Chrysler 180 on the left (plus its younger brother)

16928341185_8524d17f09_k.jpg

Opening doors, tow hook and flakey paint. What more could you want?

We're almost at the end... of the first lot.

Matchbox Freeman Inter-city Commuter. Straight out of the early seventies.

16902440476_9ec8af2878_k.jpg

I wasn't quite sure which end was the front at first. The paint is terrific.

And to finish it all off:
Corgi Land Rover. With horrid wheels and a missing tow hook.

16927350841_677ac4195a_k.jpg

Clickable extras:

On to the next lot! This one was of Siku Police vehicles.

VW Passat.

16742152949_e15b77a7d2_k.jpg

In 'oh man, this thing is almost freaking mint' condition (seriously, it has two tiny paint chips). It's pretty great and the trunk opens (but only with some help).

Two older VW Passats.

16740916030_06d8de68e6_k.jpg

One is also in 'oh man, this thing is almost freaking mint' condition and the other is... less so. But I'm pretty sure that one is also an older casting. The trunk, again, opens (does not require help).

Ford Transit.

16902433906_9521d15805_k.jpg

It's actually quite large (scale comparison picture in extras). And heavy. Also it has opening doors on both sides. But not the same doors. It's the drivers door on the left and the erm... 'passenger' door on the right. If they made both the front and rear door open on the right side there wouldn't be enough zamac left between the doors leaving it prone to break. Probably.

Clickable extras:

Not quite done yet. The final lot is also my favorite. The smallest lot contains old Schucos.

BMW 2800.

16927048352_60e499c91d_k.jpg

This thing is from the seventies and it looks freaking awesome. A fair amount of paint chips, but the details are fantastic, the wheels are to scale and the gap between the doors is super ttiny. Much thinner than any other cars I have in my collection. From pictures I thought that Schucos were larger than usual. But these are actually smaller than usual. Scale comparison picture in the extras.

VW Passat.

16902411986_8412356251_k.jpg

Pretty much the same comments as before. The axles on both of these are bent. They're softer axles and seem to bend easily.

Audi 100 LS

16742123449_797b3f2234_k.jpg

This thing is in the best shape of the three. There's a big scratch in the paint on the roof which is a big shame. The hood has some strange smudges on it. I'll have to try and clean it up.

Click these extras, damn it:

Phew

Holy vintage haul, @Apok, you aren't messing around! A bunch of really neat classic cars, each with its own story. I like the Shadow, but the red stars bit is confusing; is that supposed to be there? The Matra comes a close second, because it's bonkers and you used a boat to open the hood.

The Audi and the old Passat are also pretty neat, they are both very quirky in character.

Maybe it's just my dry sense of humour, but whenever Apok shares photos, it all registers to me like this:

I got stuff in the mail today. These were three separate lots that I won from a german seller.

A Hot Demon Boat and a Hot Wheels made up boat thing.

Now I know what you're thinking: 'Apok, we want moar boats. We can't get enough of your aerodynamic vessels'

I thought I'd start off with the least exciting stuff. :p

Looks a bit like a strange bird, but gets massive bonus points for the awesome hinged rear end exposing the engine. Awesome.

Majorette VW Beetleboat.

It's seen better days for sure. But it has the earliest type of Majorette free-flowing starboard. Can't deny that.

Just like the Chrysler Gunwale 180 on the left (plus its younger brother)

Moving propellor, trailer and real rust around the rim. What more could you want?

We're almost at the end... of the first lot.

Matchbox Freeman Outer-Sea Commuter. Straight out of the medieval dark ages.

I wasn't quite sure which end was was the front, but the paint is terrific.

Corgi Lake Rover. With a horrid propellor and a missing its canvas sail.

VW Passerboat.

In 'oh man, this thing is almost freaking mint' condition (seriously, it has two tiny paint chips). It's pretty great and has a functioning cup holder!

Sea Transit.

Yes, the stars are supposed to be there.

Good.

The Boat Indoctrination

You're up to something, and I am onto you have been victimized.

So when's the boat coming out?

Edit: I actually meant to ask when the book's coming out. Seriously. The brainwashing has gotten this bad, oh my god. But yeah, please publish it soon.

Alright, I promised some pictures, and pictures I'll deliver. I'm just sorry my pics look like crap comparative to everybody else's. Anyways, on with the show.

No need to worry about the pictures, they look fine as-is. The haul is what matters, and yours is pretty darn cool all thing considered. My personal highlight has to be that M2 Foose Roadster, that's just amazing-looking.
