I bought this tonight, and I'm not sure why.

Forgot all about that one. It's a no-brainer, dude.

If you are nodding your head to me posting this video here, in reference to Jason's bike, you are cool Japanese guy, or know a lot about Japan. If you aren't Japanese, or too young, you are going "a6m5 did lot of drugs in his time". :D
1987. The first year of Group A.
Toyota had dominated the African rallies during the Group B years with the Celica Turbo and were set to continue their ways with the new Supra when the team was hit by tragedy:

Wow, what a tragedy. Thanks a lot for finding the article. 👍

Goes well with Capris, goes well with Supras... 👍

Don't forget Rovers*, too. 👍 Honestly my personal favourite, when it comes to Bastos liveries. Though the Supra would have be a close second now. :embarrassed:

*Just imagine that as a Kyosho or TLV one day. Damn, that would be sweet.
I'm the grandpa, "space" is reserved for Jarrod.

I naturally thought the Grandpa remark was directed at you? Hence the Simpsons gif. :P

You need to work on your comebacks. I'm the grandpa, "space" is reserved for Jarrod.

How can't I call you "Grandpa"? Especially when you bust out old J-Rock musical references I cannot remember... I only know modern J-Rock singers and bands like L'Arc en Ciel and B'z! If Space Grandpa won't work as a nickname, then I shall call you Bonsai Grandpa from now on. :P

How could I forget about those sexy Spa Rover SD1s? That was foolish on my part, those bad boys also work with a Bastos livery...
Shame TLV doesn't usually deal with Japanese racing cars that had European careers, because they could make a good recreation of the Bastos Supra with their new Supra casting.

We could ask Bonsai Grandpa to mention this in Tomica's Twitter account, no? :sly: :dopey:

2016 Mystery Models Velocita. This casting needs to have "stuff" on the side. It's a tad weak without it.
First time not having to buy a Mystery Model online.

2016 Euro Style Porsche 993 GT2

The Fiat 500 is pretty good too with the Italian flag stripe running along the bottom side, but I passed on it.

Am I the only that thinks those wheels don't suit the Porsche?

I don't like how the spokes join at the rim like the TRAP5, but they do look good if the spokes were all black for it looks like black BBS wheels (see that police E30).

I like that they're lower profile tyres but I'm not sure the design of the wheel itself, suits being a real rider. If they were real spokes (probably asking too much) I'd be more impressed. As it is with the solid background they're kind of meh. They actually remind me of the wheels Matchbox used to use a while back. Don't get me wrong, if I ever came across a HW with those wheels, I'd snap it up, but being in the UK, that's very unlikely, infact pretty much zero.

Yeah, they remind me of those too. Actually there's not much between the 3 of them, just slightly different patterns.

(edit)

Actually, they are quite different. They still remind me of them though.

I was thinking the same, but the set on Porsche's not real riders, right? :dunce:

I looked at Kroger, Walmart & TRU today, but nothing. At TRU, I saw Japanese flag on one of the cards(Nissan GT-R)? I thought I'd look at it again, maybe I'll buy it. It was at the very back of the peg. I grab it, then blister flipped down. Somebody helped themselves to a free GL R35. Annoyed at idiots.

I'm going to start saving for hacking school, so I can find out where you live. Then I'll start saving for a drone & couple of hellfire missiles. If bonsai actually live that long.

I'm going to burn your house down.

But Bonsai jii-san...! There is no need for such things, you may get hurt or something! Besides, why bother with hacking a school? I am techinically an university-grade student, so you won't get much information out of a Portuguese school...

Besides, you will need proper airplanes to carry a payload of missiles, and those airplanes are probably Mitsubishi brand planes. We wouldn't want to cause unnecessary pollution just to wreck one tiny house in the middle of Northern nowhere Portugal, now would we?

Definitely! I like the way you think.👍

See, Bonsai jii-san? Space Goat-san agrees with me, we should be working for a greater cause! :nervous:

Oh my, speaking of greater causes... And chalk one up to the "unexpected TLV things" list as well, 1980 Pandas... Have all my moneys, especially because the picture below proves the existence of something even greater;

Edit: And the other TLV Silvia Silhouette looks to be on it's way, finally!

CiOMvelUoAM0lTO.jpg

Why hello there, Polizia Municipale's Fiat Panda, I believe we haven't met before. Also, all my yeses and moneys go to that one, unless Tomica is also interested in doing a Carabinieri model... 👍
Again, maybe Bonsai jii-san can help with this, right Space Goat? :sly:

Well, for the Silvia, looks like Bonsai jii-san's vast collection of TLV Super Silhouette cars has gotten even more vast, who would have thought? :sly:

Joke aside, this has to be it as far as Nissan Super Silhouette cars go for Tomica, correct? They have covered all Bluebirds, all Hasemi Skylines, and now both Hoshino Silvias... Now what? They shouldn't just leave it at Nissans and call it a day, give other brands a chance.

...well, does anyone know a famous Super Silhouette car that is not a Nissan? I'm all ears...

My dollaridoos, take them all.

Wish I could like your post multiple times for that reference. Nice one!👍!!!
Why hello there, Polizia Municipale's Fiat Panda,

Wait, is that a police Panda just poking it's rear end into shot next to the Silhouette? I didn't even notice when I posted that yesterday.

To be fair, that particular Sivia is the one he's been waiting for, since the Silvia pair were revealed this time last year. But I agree, Shinji does have far too many Silhouettes. He should share them around. :D

I don't know enough about historical Japanese racing to comment on any others that aren't Nissan related.

I will not blame you for doing that, if anything. It is pretty difficult to ignore a Super Silhouette Silvia over a police Fiat Panda. Of course, a special kind of idiot such as myself managed to do that much, so hooray for me I guess? :dopey:

Well now Bonsai jii-san will never have to worry about the lack of a TLV rendition of said Silvia anymore, all he needs to do now is fork over the dough.
And I certainly agree with your latter statement; why not allow for Super Silhouette car rentals, Bonsai jii-san? :sly:

I only know about the Super Silhouette era, and even that is mostly Nissan-related. Not many non-Nissan cars have had their own chance to shine, either in scale models or Internet articles... Maybe TLV can touch the really obscure stuff, like the BRE-Hino Samurai... Now there's something I'd really sink my teeth into (not literally, of course).

When you run out of colours, start adding lines!

They did this with the Reventon in 2012 with the goofy jagged moustache tampos.

note: yes they have yet to go through all the colours. A purple Veneno would have been cool to see in the future.

Goofy jagged mustache tampos? I must research this.

Oh
