1/64 Model Collectors Thread

In my debut to this thread... I don't really have a collection of 1/64 model cars, but I do have quite a few (albeit very old) 1/64 model cars. I still envision how I would complete a collection of scale cars 1/25 or north of 1/25. I also don't have such small model cars to play with any of those Hot Wheels driving sets or anything. I am not totally committed to having a vast collection of 1/64 model cars. However, it is certainly cool having these small cars to play with or enjoy adding to a collection.

By the way- that's not a bad deal to have that sweet old-style Porsche by buying some Jif.

Yeah, it's easy to go overboard with it. If they ban eBay & this thread, it'd be much more manageable hobby for me.

I don't have any real collection of these cars, so I'm afraid I can't provide any real pictures. It also isn't as if I have any super-rare models that would sell for about as much as a well-maintained comic book or anything.

Apparently, they're too lazy to add new models. Though it could be fair to say that it would be pointless to make lots of new variant colors of the old models.

Well, while we are on the topic of Hot Wheels, allow me;

You know, I think I will keep this in its proper blister. Usually HW cars end up without a "plastic home" (so to speak) to live in, but this "little" (so to speak) Torino has a rather nice paintjob. And getting the car all dusty wouldn't be honorable to such a simple yet neat-looking livery, now would it?

The casting itself isn't anything to write home about, it's no Auto World in terms of detailing and fascia quality, but the paintjob is something AW has yet to pull off...

Also it's kinda my racing number in racing games, because unless the game allows for three digit numberplates I prefer to stick to 76 in order to remain close to Seaside Route (see what I did here?), but I bet not many give a squat about that

Well perhaps my intentions behind those words jumped the border of realism a tiny bit...

...but I still think the livery itself is rather nice, and it's certainly something other scale model brands haven't touched (yet).

Hmmmm... I think Kyosho is the only one that makes R33s. Sure, Tamiya did 1:64 Skylines but only the R32 and R34. I have a purple R33 GT-R Autech sedan, and I got it for 10 USD locally, not online.

Unless you want to settle for Tomica models.

Here in Manila, there is a particular mall just a walk away from my home that hosts tons of hobby shops and is known as a haven for all sorts of collectors. That's where I get the majority of Kyosho 1:64s in my collection.

Not many shops in the States will carry Kyosho.
