It's only off because it records the current total content of the site. Each post is logged and assigned a number. If a post is subsequently deleted it's number is not reassigned. So although GTP has HAD a million posts made, it hasn't had a million posts worthy of keeping yet...

So we're still waiting on GTP's millionth keeper post

The most recent post is forum post number 1,000,293, logged as postid=1011133. Assuming that the moderators haven't been busy removing parts of the site overnight, the millionth post ought to be postid=1010840.
