Snow can be a viable product (depending on where its coming from), but at that price it's not worth it. For example, scientists may want to study the composition of the snow and may try to predict/analyze whatever...

$20,000 USD is overpriced, you can buy a new car, several used cars, or even 400 copies of GT4!

True. If the snowball was legitimate then I can understand it being sold on e-bay (but not for that price). However, there is no way to tell if that snowball is authentic so its a waste of money.

Erm, I hate to break it to you.... but that snowball isn't really 107 years old. He clearly states he made the snowball December 25th, 2004. It's less than three weeks old.

I can't believe that people would even want to bid on stupid junk like this... It's ridiculously sad.

THIS IS A HOAX!
If you look at the bid history, you will see that most of the bidders have only a few feedback ratings (from 1 to about 3 or 4). I'm willing to bet, oh, USD $20,700 that this guy got some friends together and they started this up to get attention. Think about it. I could get four of my friends who are set up on eBay, and create an auction for something stupid, say a bucket of magic piss. I put it up, and get my friends to bid in small increments to increase the believability of the whole thing. Hell, we could get the bids up to whatever we want! Then, when the auction ends, I "privately contact" the winning bidder and arrange "secure payment."

Also, from doing 5 minutes of "eBay detective work" I was able to learn that this seller has had complaints in the past about selling knock-off Harley Davidson items (leather vests, wallets, etc.). So, there's a SECOND reason to hesitate before bidding on the so-called "authentic Rio Grande Snowball" (as if you need another reason).

Really, can we stop creating posts regarding incredibly stupid eBay auctions?

Then lots of lemmings create threads on completely unrelated internet forums linking the oafish auction. Why? It's not news. It's not talent. It's not real. It shouldn't be given the time of day.
