2005 GT4 World Touring Car Championship CANCELLED!

I would like to sign up, I will convince one of my roommates to be a teammate if nobody wants to join me. I am usure what you mean by "each team can have 2 cars". Do you mean 1 team of 2 people driving the same car, or 1 team of 2 people driving 2 different cars? If the prior, I would like to Sign up for the Audi A4 DTM and the Audi Abt TT-R DTM, if the former, than just the Audi A4 DTM will suffice. Call the team (for simplicity) "Audi-Red Bull Racing".

Anyone that might want to team up with me, a little about myself:
I first got GT3 shortly after it came out, and played if quite a bit for a year, but only progressed to about 50%. As I become excited for GT4 I decided to start over. Since last week when I started over I am at about 30% completion and have all golds in A, B, and Rally, Golds in 1, 3, 4 & 5 in IB, bronze and silver everywhere else, except the super, which I haven't touched yet. Anyway, I think I can be somewhat competitve, but really I have no idea because I've never tried this On-Line Racing, but this World Touring Car Challange sounds way too intriguing to pass up.

If I don't meet your esteemed standards then let me know, I'll understand. Or if you would rather saddle me with a less competitive car so that I won't be robbing better drivers of top-notch machinery, thats fine, but dissappointing. I really want that A4 because I have been reading about it all season, and it is just simply amazing.

Cool, thanks. I think I can get my roommate to do it with me. He did quite a bit with GT3, but probably will not buy GT4, especially since I am definitely gonna get it.

I have a few questions though:

1. Will there only be a Manufacturer's/Team's Championship so you are dependent on your teammate, or will there also be an Individual/Overall Championship Race?

2. How often will the races be?

3. How much time will everybody have to unlock the needed cars and tracks?

4. How many laps, is it the standard 1 flying lap? I would almost prefer it be long enough to have some pit stops. Aren't real touring car races like 20-30 laps or something? But I think they also do 2 or 3 actual races at each event (with the same cars) and I think all 2-3 earn points. But maybe I am just thinking about Australian V8 supercars. I don't know.

5. Will this game ever come out? I am actually wasting more time anticipating the damn thing than if it had come out and I was actually already playing it!

Well, still looking for a teammate, but AU Cerumo Italia selects the, you guessed it, AU Cerumo Supra. Anyone interested?
 
Count me in with the Mercedes CLK Tourenwagen DTM (D2 AMG) '00... I don't think that was taken yet.
 
WOAH, DAMN!!! i got all these replies!!! ok, lets sort smoe things out first

Blake: Nice to know you will be on the starting grid as well. will put your names up as soon as possible

Cristiano: Good fo you to join us. just ask around and someone will agree. pm me when you find someone

Garconis: Unfortunately, Blake beat you to the post for the Denso Sard Supra, since he was the first one to select it. But you are still able to pcik any of the other supras, they are all as equally as good.

Locust7Rules: OK, you can only pick ONE of those cars, but you and your teammate, if you have one, will get that car each, so both you and your teammate will drive the same car, just that you're not sharing the driving like other races. You get your car to tune however you want. OK, now about your points. first the race weekend will be set out like this: you get two days to qualify, so you basically go into gt mode and do some free running, or you can run with other cars, it's up to you. the qualifying days will probably be thursday and friday. then on saturday and sunday, the race weekend gets into full swing. basically, you run a family cup race or anything else, and record your race time. basically you try to get the best race time, which therefore wins you points, and may even win you the race!!! Second, the championship begins in may, so that gives europeans and aussie and americans roughly 2 months, which should be enough. Thirdly, it will be a team's chamionship, so you and your teammate try to score pionts for your team together. there will also be a drivers championship, so individuals can try to win the crown for themselves and their team. Fourthly, the races will be run every two weeks over an 11-race period: 10 real tracks and a special all-star race at a city course (new york, seattle, paris, etc) which is still to be decided. hope that clears up any queries you have.

P.S: oh and one more thing, the cars MUST, MUST, MUST remain stock, but you can tweak the setting to suit you :)

Great, me and my undisclosed-as-of-this-time teammate would like the Audi A4 DTM '04 if thats not a problem.
 
When I get the game ( the day it is released in Canada ) count me in for the BMW M3 GTR '01...

No one coulda teamed up with me instead of choosing the other Supras? Hmm..
 
I was wondering why some race cars were missing from this, such as the C5R, Oreca Viper, Zonda Race Car, etc. Any particular reason? I don't think they would be too out of class.

Which Supra is it? I'm starting to think my Astra wasn't a smart choice :indiff:
And just a sudden thought, would it be possible to hook up some actual online races with X Link?
 
How's the timing going to be recorded? I mean, how are you going to judge this challenge? People could easily fudge the answers, it seems.

Not a whole lot of activity going on in these, is there? Suppose it will liven up after release.

Nitro, do you think we could have a third competition, as well? (street cars only, have some sort of budget for car+mods - tires not included) I think it would be cool to have all three of these series synchronized. A race from each event each week (or whenever) at the same place. 👍
