Cool. I just read about him, last night. How he no longer wanted to play for Milwaukee. Sounded pretty sore.

a6m5 NBA rant warning: How about them Blazers? :ouch: Portland fans(in general) are so dumb and idiotic, it's pretty unbelievable.

Oden goes down, we are all sad and dissapointed, and that's OK. But now some fans are trying to get the season tickets refunded, some have gone as far as blaming Oden for the injury, or the Blazers for picking him!

Heartless, hypocritical, idiots. As a fan of a team, I have really hard time putting up with these fair weather fans. All the years of no support for this team, we get the #1 pick, draft Oden, they are back to, "Ohhhh, the Blazers are gonna rock! Yeah!". As soon as they find out about Oden being out for the season, they turn to blame EVERYBODY who has anything to do with the Blazers, from the fans to the General Manager. It is most interesting that absolutely none of them are who I consider to be real, actual fans of the team. They all started jumping on the bandwagon since last year or so. Sorry, I'm done. And yes, I feel much better.

That's just the NBA for you. It's not like the Blazers are in any hurry though; everyone's pretty much under 28 on the team right? It might be good to go a year without Oden, to develop everyone else and maybe give him some time to get used to the 82-game deal without having to well, play.

If that makes any sense. 👍

I do hear ya. Thing that not many people realize about Oden though is that he's very raw. I don't know if you've heard, but Oden played just two Summer League games. In S.L., you get upto 10 fouls, where you foul out after 6 in real games. In first game, he fouled out with all ten fouls. :scared: Second game? He finished with nine. :ouch: He's very, very talented, but he desperately needs some exposure to NBA games.

Nevermind, the Bucks matched the Heat's offer. Great move by the classy Bucks organization. "Oh, we don't want to spend that kind of money on you, but now...um...we do."

I only wonder how many times people are gonna wonder, did he miss that free throw on purpose?...

Indeed, very classy. 👎 Business is business, and I understand that. But if they are expecting the player you treated like dirt to step up and play like MVP for you, you got another thing coming. I agree with you, they should have granted him his freedom.

Whatever. I'm positive they wouldn't have matched if he got an offer sheet from some Western Conference team.

I think they were trying to low ball him.

What do you mean? The Bucks didn't get a better deal out of it or anything.

If anything, Bell did it to get some more money out of the Bucks. But he really seemed intent on not returning to them.

No, this is what some teams do to get the better deal. Bell was supposed to be signed weeks ago, if not months.

Teams often pull something like this off to low ball the restricted free agent they want to resign(for little cash). Off season's almost over, all the key free agents are probably already signed. Guys who doesn't have a contract at this point is humiliated, and that's why Bell announced that he definitely didn't want to play for the Bucks. The team that, according to Bell, promise to take care of him.

I don't know how much the Heat's offer sheet was worth, but it should've been a lot lower than it could, or should've been. This is because of how late in the free agency it is, plus, how no other teams are interested in him. And most likely, it was not Bell's fault that he was still left unsigned. The Bucks probably did promised to take care of him, so the other teams would back off of him, trying to make an offer. Bell on the other hand, he'll look totally uninterested to the teams that were interested in him, because his team(Bucks) had already told him that they'll take care of him.

So now, Bucks just let the market(The Heat) do all their dirty work, and they just take it away from there. Bell might want to consider hiring a new agent.

I went to the first game of the (pre)season today. My Blazers looked good...... at least offensively. Defensively, we are still full of holes, and we still suck at rebounding. Oh, well. It's only the first game. :)

I got to sit in this new(last year) section called the "Lexus Level". Seats are in the preferred level(side of the court) just inside the lower bowl, which are OK. But here's the mindblower, at least for me: It's free everything, except for the alcohol! I usually get nice dinner pass, but this one, they let you go back in for more meal doing the game(like in skyboxes), but also included concession stand food! You just show this magical bracelet, and popcorn, hotdogs, sodas, nachos, pizza, you just take them for free.

I don't know if I'll get that pass again, but that was just unreal. I almost felt bad about those cookies that I stuffed in my jacket.

Go Blazers! :p

Damn that sounds awesome! Haha.

Has Koponen seen any playing time yet or did they decide to keep him in Finland?

Isn't that just unreal? I didn't even know such thing existed!

He was here just for the Summer League. From what I understand, he and Rudy Fernandez(I call him the 'Spanish Ginobili') were never expected to be in the Blazers uniform until 08/09 season at the soonest.

If they both make the team next year, combined with Oden, we'll have three rookies from the '07 draft. :guilty: We'll be green all over again. Talented, but very inexperienced. We are so tired of "rebuilding" here.

You may still be rebuilding, but you're in a damn good spot for it. You've gotten, what, 5 lottery picks in the last 2 years? The Blazers are gonna be real scary in two or three seasons.

I mean look at the Heat - we were definitely in a rebuilding phase - with Wade, Odom, and Butler. Then we made one trade to get Shaq. We won 50 games that year, then won the championship the next. Times goes by real fast that way.

Shaq does make a difference for a team though, doesn't he? :sly: If Oden can still turn out to be as good as Mourning(my original prediction), we should be in good shape.

YESSSS!!!

The Heat just pulled off a deal of Antoine Walker, Michael Doleac, and Wayne Simien for Ricky Davis and Mark Blount.

Wow, i am so happy to see Walker gone. Now i really can't wait for the season to start.

LMAO!

As much as I don't like Ricky Davis, I'd be just as excited, if Walker was leaving my team. Lesser of two evils, I suppose. :D

Yeah, but i think Davis has matured since he was last on the Heat and i'm sure he wants a ring.

Tip-off right now!!! :D
I thought you were talking about Miami, but I see that they didn't have a game this evening! The Blazers didn't do too bad. Their defense sure could improve, but I thought they looked pretty respectable out there.

Some of our young guys, especially Webster, they've come a long way.

Yeah i meant the season tip-off, in general. Heat's first game is tonight. :)

Raps are going all the way !!! Go Team Euro ! Watched a great game last night, Big ol'Italian is going to be a force this season !

Best of luck to the Raptors, but I've been hearing about injury issue with Bosh. Ankle or knee injury, I can't remember....

I love Bargnani, the way he plays and the fact that he's somewhat of fellow countryman. :D

Man what a lousy start for the Heat. 0-3. Well, at least the losses are close, so once Wade gets back this should translate into winning. :(

Blazers are, too. All three came on the road, and from what I understand, all of them were home openers for the other teams.

If the Blazers can win their own home opener on Wednesday, I'll be (kind of)happy. ;)

What was Wade's injury again? Hopefully he can come back completely healthy...

I used to be a huge fan of the NBA around in the mid nighty's, every time I would come to the US (to visit family among other things) it would off season so I could never see a game in person, since then I sadly lost interest until recently. I got the basketball bug back again and sometime in may next year I will be back in the US, I hope to catch a game while I am there. :)

I used to be a big Bulls fan (it was the mid nightys, wasnt everyone :p) but now I don't have any favorites I just enjoy the games.

He had knee and shoulder surgery in May, just got cleared to play but wants to come back slow.

That's cool, got any current favorite players? I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess Andrew Bogut? :D

Ain't that the truth.👍 They were pretty good I guess. :D

Blazers(0-3) are playing the Hornets(4-0) tonight in the home opener. I'm so glad I picked Friday night's game to attend(Greg Oden bobblehead night). Chris Paul from the Hornets, he's accumulated 50 assists in just 4 games. He's gonna just pick my team apart!

P.S. Basketball seems to be pretty popular in Australia. On the Blazers website, I have like three Australian guys on my friends list. One of them is more knowledgeble(about the NBA) than 99% of the fans here!

Haha, no I don't really have a single favorite current player, though if I had to choose it probably would be Shaquille O'neal as I followed him from just before he was drafted and he is still going. At the moment I am pretty unbiased which I am enjoying.

Yeah we have lots of fans here (considering our much smaller population), probably more NBA fans here than NBL (our local league).

Any idea why our Portland Trail Blazers might be attractive to your people?(that sounds little funny :p ). I just don't get it. Maybe all thirty teams have Australian following, I don't know.

P.S. I used to sell on eBay, but I'd never allow international shipping. "One" exception I made was to a Blazer fan in Australia, asking me if I'd ship a Blazers jacket to them. I couldn't say no to her, no way. :D
