Damn! Last night 's game with the Heat vs. the Celtics was a real nailbiter. You know, the Celtics' 8-0 record really has no clout. Besides Miami, what playoff team have they beaten? Toronto? New Jersey? Meh.

What the heck is going on with the Heat, Gian? Is it over for them, completely?

Blazers get their tenth win in a row! I believe that ten game is the longest win streak in the NBA this season.

I damn near lost my voice at this game. Fans were super-loud, and they were going nuts after the game. Go Blazers! :D

Hey sorry about the long hiatus, but yeah, the Heat suck.

I dunno it seems like we keep blowing it in the second halves of most games, and can't seem to close out on the perimeter or defend in the keys moments of a game. We need to build team chemistry and play Dorell Wright and Daequan Cook much, much more.

I'm really sad about Zo, apparently his career really is over. He's not the greatest person ever by any means, but he's been one of my favorite players.

Oh, and the Blazers winning 10 in a row is crazy! I don't want to imagine how easily those win streaks will come once Oden is back. Do you guys play Aldridge exclusively at the power forward right now, even with Oden out? Pryzbilla is the starting center right? Because having a frontcourt of Oden and Aldridge is gonna be a serious inside-out punch. Aldridge can really knock down the 15-footer like nobody's business.

Is it me, or does Dallas just not seem to care anymore? I know they're on a 5 game streak, but they're already at 19-9. I know one of the made the comment that they're trying to stay focused on the Playoffs instead of the regular season.

Well, at this rate Dallas, you're going to barely make it into the Playoffs.:dunce:

And what the hell is up with Boston?! When did this team suddenly become so dominating? 21-3, d*mn.

The off-season trade is what is up with Boston.

Dallas just seems to be "coasting" which is what San Antonio has been doing for a decade. They'll probably be ready for the playoffs. If not count on major changes next year. They've been to the Finals, there is nothing more to accomplish aside from the NBA Title. If they go backwards like last year Cuban and most fans will want changes. Dallas is in sort of a mini situation that Utah was in during the Jordan era--with the championship or the season's a bust. I don't know if it will happen this year. Boston will run away with it barring injury.

Other teams pulling away, or beating your team late in games, that pretty much is a obvious sign of a bad team. Good teams are the ones that just pulls away, when they just "turn it on" in the key stretches of games.

Like how amazing it is with the dominating Celtics, I just don't get the Lottery-Heat. Even with injuries, I think they should be winning a lot more.

I used to really like him. A great post player. One of my favorite post-up moves, I stole from him(I think he stole if from Hakeem  ).

How about Shaq though? Is he as good as gone too or what!? If you can't utilize a center like Shaq, I'd blame the coaching. I haven't seen him play in a while, but Shaq I remember, granted, is a slow & old dude. But he is a pretty good scorer from down low, plus he's a good passer. If they had couple of decent long range shooters on the team, they should be winning at least 50% of the games with that, right there. Shaq doesn't need to be young, or quick. Just post up inside, try to get a easy basket over a smaller defender. Most of the time, additional defender will come to help, "BAM!", you hit the open guy for a open shot. Or you can find one of the outside shooters for a jumper, or reset. They really should have kept that Kapono.

Sorry that got long, but that's my take on the Heat anyway.

LaMarcus has been playing the Power Forward position, but they've been using Channing Frye at the Center position as well. Przybilla's been coming off the bench a lot, which is not necessarily a bad thing for the team, or Przybilla. Blazers' second unit to us is nearly as important as the starting five, perhaps even more so at certain positions. Guys who can cut it as starters(also used to be starters): James Jones(our Kapono?), Travis Outlaw, Jarrett Jack, Joel Przybilla. They strategically come off the bench to give us boost, a la (my favorite player)Manu Ginobili. Those "bench" guys has been huge for the Blazers during this winning streak.

While I agree that San Antonio sometimes during the regular season are seen just sleepwalking thru the regular season(Pop must be one frustrated coach :D), the obvious difference between Dallas and S.A. is the end result. If what Mac heard is correct, if they actually think that they can focus on the Playoffs with over 50 games left in a regular season, I'd fire or trade the personnel with that type of mindset. It would explain the Mavs performance in last few Playoff appearance, however.

With the talent that team's got, I'd want other teams to be afraid of us. Right now, it's all about Phoenix, San Anotonio and Boston, right off the top of my head. Dallas should be feared enough to be in that category, but they are not. I see something wrong with that picture.

Maybe by "underestimating" the Mavs its playing right into their hands? Could they have the Colts syndrome of being a very good underdog?

Shaq, i dunno, just doesn't have any lift anymore. Something's bothering him, whether it be his divorce, his knees, or whatever. I don't really care because this is Dwyane's team now.

And about the Celtics..i really don't think they're much to write home about. They've barely played against any winning teams. They've got talent for sure, but they haven't proved much yet.

They're actually still letting him play? :p I kid.

Seriously though, I had heard he was having bad knee problems at the beginning of the season. Thought he had that taken care of after last season.

Well all i know is i can't wait for his $20 mil to come off the books, and we have an orgasmic amount of cap space.

Yeah, I heard that the Celtics still haven't played many of the elite teams yet. But way they are blowing their oponents away(winning score margin has been HUGE), they can very well be the best in the NBA. Time will tell.

On Shaq, even with leg related injuries, the Heat should be able to do what I suggested with him. And if the Divorce is distracting him, he should think about the kind of money his team is paying him.

And finally on Wade, I do agree that it's his team. I think I've said that, since his second year. But like Kobe, another superior guard(maybe the best), he will need a capable sidekick in order to lead a successful team. Shaq isn't that sidekick right now, that's for sure.

Hopefully it'll be Mike Miller by the end of the week.

Are you kidding me? That would be a nice move for the Heat. Which player(s) is Miami offering?

It's rumored that Ricky Davis, J-Will, and Smush Parker are all on the table. Apparently Memphis might be asking for Haslem too, but that's out of the question for me.

There's also talk that 'Zo will be traded out just for cap reasons. He's pretty much a free $3 mil in cap space right now, since he has a 1 year deal and is done for his career. (:()

I just wanted to share: Brandon Roy pwnd Miami Heat tonight(or was that last night?). :sly:

Would you take Darius Miles for him? *wink**wink*

They did. He's a special player. I feel really good about that Blazer team...my favorite player has to be Outlaw. I traded for him in my Miami franchise in 2k8 a couple weeks ago. :D

Miles? Ah no thanks. At least not for Zo. His contract does expire the same year as Shaq's though, so maybe we can trade in the future. For Blount, if his age catches up with him. Right now he's playing really well for us though.

BTW - that's 15 straight for Miami. Last night was really hard to watch. I can't believe we couldn't beat the crotchety old Spurs after the hard game they won the night before. Tim Duncan is the real deal.

It was definitely dissapointing how there was no foul called on that last Wade drive though. How do you expect there to be no foul when 3 guys are on somebody? He got hacked 1, maybe 2 times there. He probably shoulda just passed to somebody that was open.

I wonder if Golden State would take Ricky Davis for Pietrus and some of their trade exemption...

Darn.

I don't have cable or anything, so I haven't really seen Miami play that much this year. Is it fair to say that most of Miami players have just quit? IMO, there just is no excuse for their record, especially with the talent on that team. 15 straight, huh? Unbelievable!

You know how that goes. You rarely get a call for the last play, unless it was very blatant, and the refs get a very clear view(s). Yet, another reason the NBA should introduce those replay challenge deals like in the NFL.

Darn.

Well i don't really know what's been going on...but i can guess it's a mix of 0 chemistry, 0 team defense (opponents shoot ~860% behind the arc against us), and a myriad of injuries.

Well i'll be at the game tonight versus the Celtics, hopefully it'll be a good contest since KG is out. Section 104 too!

Nice. And without KG, Shaq should have a free pass to roam around the basket! :D

Shaq was out. And so was Ray Allen.

So basically, we lost to the 2006-2007 Celtics plus James Posey. By 30.

-_-

What do you guys think of the deal that sent Pau Gasol to the Lakers for Kwame, Crittenton and two 1st? I think it's a freaking steal by the Lakers.

Whoa! Now Shaq is all but on his way to Phoenix, for Shawn Marion and Marcus Banks! Damn this has been a crazy week.

Now i REALLY can't wait for next week's game on ABC with the Heat vs. Lakers. :D

The Lakers just became a whole bunch tougher. SA, Dallas, and PHX better watch out the Lakers just became a true contender--that is until Gasol chokes in the playoffs. He's like Dirk, he's too soft. Maybe Kobe can get some toughness out of him.

And Shaq going to PHX? Are the Suns crazy? Shawn Marion is their best player--yes their best player and they want a washed up overgrown pompous ass?

It gives them a good low-post presence that they were lacking, if not on the offensive end then at least on the defensive end. I think you and i can both agree that it's not easy to score on a 7'1", 315 pound person. They were also not going to give Marion his extension after this season. With Shaq, they can move Amare to PF which Marion was taking up.

Steve Nash is definitely the best player on the Suns. I don't know how you can think otherwise (2-time MVP).

Shaq to the Suns!? Nobody saw that one coming. Marion is a great player, but yeah, Nash is something else altogether.

While I hate the trade for the Suns, they've been trying to move Marion for years, so I suppose it was only matter of time before a trade like this actually came through. I gotta admit; I wouldn't want to play against a frontline of Shaq and Amare. And for Miami, they had nothing to lose. Wade and Marion definitely would be another pair I'd hate to go up against.

On the Lakers-Grizzlies trade, while I haven't really looked into it(I've been SICK!), I like it for the Lakers as well. Grizzlie's been trying to move Gasol for a while now, and I'd imagine it's for the salary purposes. Gasol is a good player, but isn't the most reliable player. Plus, the Grizzlies weren't going anywhere with him. First round in playoffs at best. I can't wait to see how Lakers can utilize him.

Easy, Nash is one dimensional while Marion is three dimensional. I want a SKILL player that does well in all positions like a Josh Howard or a Chris Bosh. Marion is the glue that holds that team together. Amare and Nash are just the things being glued. You watch, the Suns get worse. Shaq is a joke, I could score on his ass. He's so far old and decrepid its not even funny.

*edit*
Wow, Dirk had 12 assists?! He had as many assists as the Bucks had as a team! And I believe that is his first triple double. :D

And how could a player get THREE technical fouls? Charlie Villanueva had 3 T's all at the same time? I thought after 2 you're excorted off the court..?

Oh, and that reminds me its time for my Mavs avatar.

This is very surprising, considering how big of a Mavs fan you are(at least you were! :D). Isn't Nash like a two time MVP? That makes him a candidate for being the best player in the league. While I loved Marion's game since his rookies season, if I had a choice, I'd have to take Nash. And that's coming from a basketball fan who hates his style of offense.

Suns might get worse, but that's too easy. One of the best teams in the league, they are more likely to go down, before they go even higher up. I do kind of agree on Shaq though. I wouldn't have given up Marion for him, but then again, my name isn't Steve Kerr. Like I said before, Suns been trying to ship Marion out for at least 2-3 years. I don't think Kerr was given a choice by his boss.

He probably took his time getting off the court, if you know what I mean. ;)

Don't get me wrong, I like Nash and I think he was a great player for a window of about 5-6 years...but he's very one dimensional and I even knew that when he played for us. But he is very entertaining to watch nonetheless.

The Suns slipped down about 3 spots in the west--or at least they will before its all said and done. Even with Shaq they still won't be able to beat, the Lakers, Mavs, and Spurs. And I honestly think Marion is the key element on that team that gave them the chance along with Amare.
