well it may be a bad day for mclaren but it sure is making the run for the championship a whole lot more competitive/exciting.

So it took Massa, what, four or five laps to get past a Honda?

On the topic of being a rubbish passer, I rest my case.

Yeah, like his pass at the hairpin in Montreal was pure luck.

He's absolutley going for it aswell and not even taking into account staying in the race.

student: it was a good move for sure, but it wasn't a normal overtaking situation - he responded to an unusual occurrence in front of him. What I mean is that when he's just racing directly with a guy directly ahead of him, he just doesn't seem to get past very quickly. Even when he has an obviously better car. I might be wrong, but that's how it seems to me.

I might not be giving him credit, it might just be that he knows nothing much is going to happen in this race so he's not taking any chances. Which would make sense I suppose.

edit: they're not showing him, but Alonso looks to be driving brilliantly, doesn't he?

alonso might be able to take the win if raikkonen or kubica dont pick up the pace. it seens renault really seemed to pull the car together in the end of the season.

Is it just me or does Massa not know how to pass? He's been stuck in seventh behind a fricking Red Bull for ten minutes now, and it's not like you can't pass at Fuji. I honestly can't recall him making a decent competitive pass on anyone in ages.

He passed two cars in one corner this season... can't remember where.

peter: that was the Montreal pass we discussed a bit above. As I said, that was a great move, but it wasn't exactly a normal overtaking situation.

Anyhoo - Kubica's inventiveness versus Raikkonen's tyres, which is going to give out first? Great stuff.

Damn, Nelson Piquet is doing well. Can't wait to see how this turns out. Also, good on Kubica for taking the inside all the time. Kimi's tires can't pull the car around.

Great racing between Kubica and Kimi, the lad isn't giving up!
WOW! Go Piquet!

Too little, too late for Massa - he's had a shocker today, and he'll be lucky not to get some form of penalty for the collision with Bourdais, too... Kubica has been immense today, though, and Alonso must be in dreamland!

2 Renault wins in a row, who'd have funked it?

Fantastic Fernando! Great race all in all had talking point, overtaking and a surprise result.

This Championship is going to get interesting!

Edit: Well done Kimi! We had faith in you!

Unbelievable, really well done to Alonso, can that guy drive or what?...

TREMENDO ALONSO!!!!! No podran decir nada de "safety cars" ahora!! Well done to Alonso! No one can say the SC helped this time! Great Race!!

Well, it looks like Alonso doesn’t need Piquet to crash to have a win with Renault.;) Good for him again. Great to see him getting back there with both clean-fighting spirit an humility (he has really impressed me on that matter this year). As for the driver’s championship, from what was showed again today, looks like both contenders are missing the “Right Stuff”.:indiff:

He sure sounded like it!

Great drives by Alonso and Kubica. Also, mad props to Mark Webber for driving with that front tire!

i wouldnt be surprised if he dosnt recieve a penalty for the spin with bourdais. really it does just look like a race incident and no driver was at fault. bourdais didnt want to slow to the ferrari and the ferrari didnt want to slow for a car coming out of the pits. didnt seem like an intentional thing.

DARN SPEED AND THERE COMERCIALS!!! they cut away just as alonso is going through the hallway with all the hot women. i wanted to see those hot women too :'(

omnis: good point. Actually, Alonso's tyres looked pretty beaten up too, on the end-of-race-in-car-celebration pictures - he did, what, 24 laps on the softs? Pretty impressive.

napoleon: it doesn't have to be intentional for there to be a penalty. But it is a bit of a borderline call. It'd be a bit hard to argue either way they choose to go, really.

Go Fernando!!! Bloody brilliant driving.:D He completely deserved this win, simply stunning drive.

On another note, poor Heikki.:( He was actually doing really well, until his car died on him.
